Rick sat there as he was stunned, the world had changed so much since he had been in a coma. The dead were now resurrected and were walking the streets.
"Jaden you're not lying to me are you?"
Rick really found it hard to believe that there was an outbreak. But when he noticed Jaden, Chloe and Alfred staring at him he knew they were serious.
"Yes Rick, about two months ago while you were still in a coma the news reported the situation and how we needed to evacuate to safety."
I sighed as Rick was really slow on the uptake since he hasn't had an encounter with walkers yet.
"And Lori and Carl? Are they Safe?" He asked frantically
"Lori and Carl left 2 months ago with Shane and they were headed to Atlanta, there is a refugee center that is being guarded by the military there." I unhurriedly told him.
Rick released a breath he didn't know he was holding, since he knew his family was safe and alive he calmed down.
"Why didn't you guys leave for the shelter?" He asked curiously
"Because we have a bunker that's underground and is prepped for situations like this. We thought that it was safer to bunker down than to travel to Atlanta, we also had plenty of food and supplies so it wasn't that bad." I replied
At that time the Black man interrupted the conversation.
"The name is Morgan and this is my son Duane. Sorry about earlier, we had to make sure you weren't bitten or scratched by those things." The black man said from the doorway as his son was standing next to him.
"Bites kill ya, don't get bit, scratched or you will get a fever and that will kill ya. Only you will come back as a Walker. We only hit you because we saw that bandaged on ya stomach and thought you were bitten." Morgan gave Rick some tips but was emotional.
"It's fine, the name is Rick and it was just a gunshot wound." he responded weakly as he was still feeling the effects of being in a coma for 2 years.
"Sorry about threatening you earlier Morgan, I just wanted to make sure Rick was safe, the name is Jaden, this is Chloe and Alfred." I pointed at Chloe and Alfred who just nodded at Morgan and Duane.
"It's all good, what are guys gonna do now?" Morgan asked
"I'm going to find my family and Atlanta is where they went." Rick groaned as he got up and left the house.
We all followed him as he went back to his house. It was empty and even the photos on the wall were gone. Rick put on some clothes and headed to the police station because there were guns and ammunition there.
I told him we would leave with him and head to Atlanta but we needed to pack first. While Rick, Morgan and Duane were at the police station we went to the bunker and loaded all the supplies we could into 2 SUV's.
We packed canned food that would last months, about 30 guns with thousands rounds of ammo, tents and sleeping bags and special radios that used batteries and wouldn't get jammed.
"Well, I guess this will be our last time seeing this house." I said emotionally as this was my childhood home.
"Don't worry young master, this won't be the last time we can always come back." Alfred was also emotional when departing as this house contained a lot of good memories for him.
"From now on just call me 'Jaden' Alfred, there is no social class or hierarchy anymore. I treat you like a big brother/mentor anyway." I sighed as he was still calling me young master even though our bond was so close.
We left the house and went to the police station where we saw Rick saying goodbye to Morgan and Duane. Ricked asked if we were ready and I just nodded my head. After that we departed and started heading to Atlanta to meet up with the main group of the show.
Alfred was driving one of the cars by himself while I was driving the other with Chloe in the passenger seat.
....
After driving for a couple of hours we made it outside of Atlanta, the highway was full of deserted cars. We parked the cars just outside the city and entered on foot. Rick's car had run out of gas so he hopped in Alfred's since he had space.
As we walked into downtown Atlanta we noticed everything was deserted and quiet, we noticed there was an abandoned tank in the middle of the street.
"The army was definitely here, but it seems like they were overrun by walkers and retreated." Alfred said, looking at the dead soldiers that were on the tank and street.
"Let's keep going, we need to find the Refugee Cen-." Rick said before he was interrupted by the sound of a helicopter
*Buzz and hums from the helicopter* (Don't really know how to describe the sounds of a helicopter.)
We saw the helicopter fly over our heads and were leaving, but because the helicopter was so loud the walkers that were around started to become active. We started running and when we turned the corner all we saw was a horde of walkers staring at us.
"Shit, let's go back there are too many of them." I shouted looking at the crowd of 50 zombies.
We ran back around the corner but saw we were pinched from all sides. The only place that had the least amount of walkers was near the tank.
"Head to the tank, we can get inside then come up with a plan later." I shouted as I pulled out my katana and started chopping off the head of the zombies that were in our way.
While I was clearing the path ahead of us, Chloe, Alfred and Rick were covering the flak and were killing walkers left and right. Although we were killing a lot of walkers we were attracting more because of the sound of gunshots.
Seeing that we had to reload our guns and we were outnumbered we got into the tank and closed the door. When I entered I saw there was a dead soldier in the tank and put my dagger into his skull as I remembered from the show he was a walker.
"Huh.. Huh.." They were all panting and trying to catch their breath. Jaden was fine as he was superhuman.
"What do we do now?" Chloe asked with uncertainty.
"I don't know, we could wait for them to leave or we can force our way out." Alfred said as he caught his breath.
As they were discussing how to make it out of their predicament, they heard the sound of the radio that was in the tank.
*Radio crackling*
"Hey you, yeah you dumbasses in the tank." The man said through the radio
"You guys cozy in there."
