TAKING THE LEGENDARY RANKING TESTS

TAKING THE LEGENDARY RANKING TESTS

"What will the odds be if five legendaries emerge at the same time, the legendary ranking for the new entrants will be upset", they told themselves.

I placed my hand on the magic crystal. Like Sara, the device took some time before registering. But soon a jet streamed upwards. However, this wasn't a stream like those before me. This was a modest stream, an inadequate stream, it seemed.

"Orion, Magical Tier- Earth Level 9", the judge announced my result for everyone to comment.

"Ridiculous, why will an Earth Tier come to embarrass himself in this ranking?" the people asked among themselves.

"This is a waste of the Conjurer Cour's time and our time to watch him", they told themselves.

My magical tier was expected to be low because my chaos magic would suppress any attempt to check my real magic. My real magic level was around Uranus Level 1, a similar tier to Meera.

-----

The second test of the Legendary ranking was to test the density of magic or the strength of conjuration. All we had to do was place our hand on another magic crystal and conjure his magic into the crystal.

Chash went first.

As he touched the crystal, the environment froze. His magic reached into the crystal, causing a dial behind the crystal to move. After a while, the dial stopped, and the judge recorded his magic strength.

"Chash, 3850 points", the judge announced.

Then it was Cassandra's turn to do the same. She got a similar record.

"Cassandra, 3800 points", the judge announced.

Meera's magic was not much better than the two of them.

"Meera, 3820 points", the judge announced.

Although Meera had a stronger magical tier, the concentration of magic that she could cast was more or less as potent as both Chash and Cassandra.

Then it was Sara's turn to try the machine.

Sara placed her hand on the device and cast her magic into the device. The dial behind the magic crystal rose to the 3000-point level, stayed there for a while before pushing to 5000 points.

"Impossible. How can someone reach the peak level of the machine?" someone from the crowd asked.

5000 points was the maximum points that the device could give out. Sara's potency of magic was at 5000 points or more, but the machine couldn't determine the latter.

The technicians checked the machine for error but found none, so the judge have to give his result.

"Sara, 5000 points", the judge announced.

Right after Sara, it was my turn. Those who still stayed on to watch were expecting an anti-climax.

"It would be a miracle if he can reach 100 points", the audience predicted my score even before I attempted the machine.

I placed my hand on the machine as usual and the dial quickly went up to the 100-point level for a brief moment. The judge was about to stop the test when the dial moved again. This time the dial jumped to the 1000-point level to the surprise of everyone.

"Something is wrong with the machine, that guy is only an Earth tier, it is impossible to reach 1000 point in the magic concentration machine", the audience opined.

Then the dial went up another 1000 points to the shock of the audience and the judges. When the judges were about to stop the machine to check it, the dial went up to 3500 points. Before the technicians could stop the machine, the counter reached 5000 points.

"The machine is broken or rigged", the people there concluded.

The technicians checked the machine but found no problem with it.

The judges discussed among themselves about my result. Although I have a low magic tier, there was no mistake in my result, so they must give me my score.

"Orion, 5000 points"

------

The final test was the test of resiliency.

There was a magical chamber that was surrounded by magical totems in the middle of the test. We have to walk into the magical chamber before the machine starts its testing.

Chash was the first to test inside the chamber.

Suddenly, a powerful force was pressed on Chash as his body resisted the force. Slowly, the force was increased up till the point where Chash quit, or he fell to the ground. The last recorded point became his score in the test.

"Argghhhhhh"

Chash screamed after the pressure inside the magic chamber was piling up causing enormous stress on his body. Eventually, he fell to the floor of the chamber and gave up.

"Chash, 3500 points"

Cassandra and Meera went into the machine-like Chash, and they received similar results from the magical stress chamber.

"Cassandra, 3300 points"

"Meera, 3320 points"

Then it was Sara's turn. As she stood inside the magical chamber, a powerful force was cast onto her. The force gradually increased, putting increasing pressure on her. Eventually, she had to give up the test.

"Sara, 3380 points"

Then it was finally my turn. I went into the pressure chamber to run the test on me. However, those who came to watch the test have opinions about my test even before the test started for me.

"Look, it is that guy again, I hope the machine doesn't get busted again this time", someone commented.

"If the machine gets broken again, we will be having a useless crap becoming a Legendary in our ranking list", another added.

"The standards of the Legendary ranking would be pulled down because of him", a third commentator opined and said.

The machine cast its magic which surrounded me with a crushing force. However, the force was bearable for me.

Soon, more force was put into the machine, but I felt no additional stress from the addition. The force from the machine doesn't seem to affect me by much.

I saw the judges run all around me and the technicians keep looking at the machine. The force inside the chamber continued to pile up until the door to the chamber exploded outwards. The magical chamber couldn't withstand the force put into the test.

"What the hell happened here?" I asked them.
