THE APPRENTICE CONJURER AUDITION

THE APPRENTICE CONJURER AUDITION

"You busted the damn machine", Sara told me.

"Damnit, I did nothing to this bloody machine. Don't make me take this test again", I shouted to the judges.

"The machine did break down during your test, but it isn't because of a malfunction, you broke the record of the stress test", the judge told me.

The crowd was stunned by what happened to the stress machine which was meant to test the magic body armor of the candidate.

"The stress broke the magical chamber. That is not stress that a Yellow Legendary could withstand", someone who witnessed it said to us.

"Orion, 5000 points", the judge announced my result.

-----

The final results of our test were out.

"Chash 11250 points – Yellow Tier Level 2"

"Cassandra 11000 points – Yellow Tier Level 2"

"Meera 11270 points – Yellow Tier Level 2"

"Sara 12620 points – Yellow Tier Level 3"

"Orion 11900 points – Yellow Tier Level 2"

All of us received similar rankings at around Yellow Tier Level 2 or 3. Our magical tier in the first test was added into the ranking tabulation, so my ranking was understated. According to their ranking system, my ranking should be Yellow Tier Level 5.

"This bloody ranking doesn't test my full strength. The machines' limit is reached at 5000 points and my strength is higher than that", Sara told us about the deficiency in the ranking.

"Master reached 5000 points in both of the final two tests, he reached the limit of this test", Meera said to us.

"Don't worry about the ranking too much. At least now we know the ranking is only a guide to our strength", I said to them.

"How do they determine the rankings of the higher tiered Legendary beings if their test is limited to testing Yellow tiered legendary?" Chash asked us.

"For Blue Legendary and above, the Conjurer Court will send witnesses to determine the strength of the Legendary beings. They have the ranking of demons in the Legendary ranking although demons never came here to be tested", Meera explained to us.

"This test is meant for the lousy nobles to gain a ranking in the Ranking List. It's for prestige not an accurate determination of their power and strength", Sara told us.

"What is the use of getting on the Ranking List anyway?" Cassandra asked me.

"Well, Oriese will now have certified Legendary bodyguards helping him", I told them.

The Conjurer Court listed our name in the Legendary Ranking and gave us badges to signify our qualifications.

"Hey, you have another test", Ratatouille who didn't join the ranking test reminded me.

"What test? This is done", I replied to him.

"Oriese's Apprentice Audition", he reminded me.

"I thought I qualify automatically. Why should I go for the test?" I asked them.

"Orol wants you to be there. He will be there too. He wants to see his son becoming an apprentice conjurer even if he got in by backdoor", Cassandra said to me.

"Damn," I said to them.

-----

The Conjurer's Apprentice Audition is a major event not only in Tarah city but in the whole continent of the Ten-Kingdoms because those who pass the audition became Apprentice Conjurers and they could study under the Conjurers in the Conjurer Court and even join their many magical sects.

The most talented young men and women across the Ten-Kingdoms would come here for this event to become Apprentice Conjurers which was the most prestigious magic body in the Ten-Kingdoms.

Every five years the Conjurer's apprentice Audition would be held to select one hundred new Apprentice Conjurers to join the ranks of the Conjurer Court and the Audition would also rank each individual apprentice accordingly and make the ranking public.

The ranking of the new Apprentice Conjurers carried a prestige in this city and the continent of the Ten-Kingdoms and was sought after by all who chased for fame and power.

The first ranked in the apprentice audition would also receive a special reward.

Firstly, every participant must be tested on their Templar magic and the result would be announced and declared publicly.

"Ivelle, Jupiter Tier, Level 1"

"Zemari, Mars Tier Level 10"

"Tigron, Jupiter Tier Level 3"

"Kolgane, Saturn Tier Level 1"

"Maxyll, Jupiter Tier, Level 1"

As announced by the Conjurer Court most of the participants were close to the Jupiter tier or even up to a Saturn tier. These were the brightest young geniuses in all the Ten-Kingdoms.

"How did these kids grow to become so powerful? How old are they?" Cassandra asked us.

"These people are from noble families across the Ten-Kingdoms, and they have huge resources, training and potions to aid their development. They may be young, but they probably gathered magic equivalent to the practice of hundreds of years", Meera explained to her.

"It's my turn", I told them as I walked to the testing platform and placed my hand on the testing stone.

"Oriese, Earth Tier, Level 9"

Suddenly, the crowd rose in laughter.

"What? An Earth Tier? Hahaha", someone shouted at my magic tier and laughed.

"Why would an Earth Tier come to the apprentice conjurer's audition? Is it a joke?", someone from the crowd asked.

"He would be out in the first round, an embarrassment", another added her comment.

Again, I was the King of Bad Polls, and the poll was quite bad for me like it usually was. Compared to the other participants, my templar tier was pathetic but that was only because my chaos magic suppressed my actual magic crystal reading.

However, I was already guaranteed a place as an Apprentice Conjurer Audition due to my nobility, so my low tier wasn't an issue for me, but it was gossip for those who came to witness the audition.

But I did have one fan in the audience.

"Bravo, good job my son", Orol said to me from the crowd encouraging me despite the disfavors I received from the public.

"I won't be here except for you", I said to Oriese's father.
