Cultivating the art of void refinement

After having a silent meal with the jangs,Chen Lan couldn't but praise aunt Wang's cooking.

After clear the dining table, Auntie Wang came out of the kitchen and spoke to Chen Lan, "Xiao Lan,Let yan yan show you around and also help buy some groceries and toiletries since it is your first in Zhu Shou city."

"Okay." Chen Lan agreed.

Jang yuan nodded with an unpleasant face. She thought if they go out she could just ditch him

Dinner had ended and it was time for Chen Lan to leave so he bid his farewell to Auntie Wang and left with Jang yuan.

As soon as they came out of the house, Jang yuan face immediately turned cold.

Without glancing at Chen Lan, she said coldly, "I am busy with something, you can go shopping by yourself, right?" She thought he would revolt but to her surprise,Chen Lan nodded and said, "Yes I can."

She looked as Chen Lan's image disappeared. She started feeling a little guilt, and she wanted to catch up with the boy and help him. But after she thought about the huge difference between both of them she gave up.

"Are you guys done. That was quick?" Auntie Wang asked her daughter.

Jang yuan who was still feeling guilty,said quietly "He said that he could go by himself."

"Why did he say that,"said her mother

She then heard her father said, "I will not let my daughter mingle with a loser."

Jang Haisan had high hopes for Chen Lan after hearing his mother's accomplishment from his wife,but after his talk with Chen Lan,he then realized that he was wrong. The most suitable candidate for his daughter is the mayor's son Li luchen

Meanwhile, Chen Lan had already made his way down to the lake. He wasn't at all Disturbed by the unpleasant encounter with father-daughter pair.

As he walked along the lake shore, he carefully sensed the flows of energy around him.The Qi around him was not motionless,it flowed like water.

After following the path for some time, He finally stopped.

"This is it. I think I will have to go into the depths of the Yunwu Mountain if I want to find a good spot." He scanned around and found out a spot under a willow tree and sat cross- legged, facing the Lake.

Sitting under the willow tree,

The cultivation progression was divided into eight ranks: Qi Refinement, Connate, Golden Core, Nascent Soul, Soul Formation, Void, Tao Reunion, and Trial. Within each of the eight rank there are sub-stages.For example,the first rank consist of three sublevels: Establishment,Ethereal Foundation, and Divine Sea.

As the name implies, the first sub-level is all about establishing a solid foundation of which all the other cultivation stages

are developed upon. Once completed, the cultivator would have enormous strength, speed, and agility. This is a period when the cultivator agility is beyond the human body.

The next two sub-levels are mostly joined together and it's then called the Immortal Enlightenment phase. Once the cultivator had completed both levels, he or she could use even more powerful spells and arts. They could call upon the natural elements such as sand to turn it into golems.In an ordinary human eyes,cultivators are no different from a god, Although they are not.

After the cultivator has crossed the first stage, he or she would enter the second rank called connate, in which one could walk on air and could live for more than four hundred years. Unfortunately,they were still far from being called immortals.

"It's too early for me to think about that. I should start by focusing on my Establishment for now."

"What art should I use to rebuild my foundation?" Chen Lan thought.

"This is the exact reason why I failed during the heavenly trail Because of my weak foundation." Chen Lan sigh in regret.Nonetheless, am grateful for having second chance to rewrite my mistakes.

The Foundation Establishment stage was the first stage of the cultivation; it was the most important one as well.Chen Lan decided to take his time as not to repeat the same mistake the second time.

"I will used the art of Foundation Establishment from the True celestial sect. It is straightforward; but,to perfect it I need something powerful."

He had decided on his plan and decided on the art in which he will use.

"I will use the Art of Void Refinement of the Tao sect!"

The Tao sect was a profound sect known for their unique art of foundation establishment.

Once mastered, the cultivator harnesses much more power than those who used other arts.

" Since the Qi on earth is drying up. the Art of Void Refinement is suitable for this given circumstances."

Without the aid of some very special arts, an ordinary cultivator wouldn't be able to harness all forms of Qi until they had reached the Golden Core stage.

However, with the special ability of the Void Refinement art, Chen Lan would be able to harness Qi from all sources.

Chen Lan then started cultivating the Void Mortal Refinement under the Willow tree.

The art was not only useful in harnessing Qi but was also effective in straightening one's body.

As he slowly progressed with the cultivation, his body seemed to become a black hole that sucked various Qi around his surroundings.

He was so engrossed in his cultivation that he forgot about the flow of time. Before he knew it, it was morning.

As the sun rose, Chen Lan opened his eyes as a light passed through it.
