Reaching Out

A boy left all alone in the world after being abandoned by his mother in a poor clan that treated him harshly because he started showing signs of being different from other kids and the people around him. Though that plan never worked out for him and, in the end he was left to strive on his own as best as he could in the environment he was left in. He explored the towns library and any books he could find in his Clan even if they were useless. Years on years of doing such things eventually led him into stumbling across a book that would help push him towards the thing he wanted the most. "The Basic Guide To The Astral Path" This book may not of been special to anyone in the long run but, it was to him because, it was his new beginning. With this new path available to him would he be able to push through all the obstacles and hardships waiting for him or in the end will he stumble and fall? Don't Get Hurt

Looking around the room Xilo and Xelfia stood there trying to figure out where to go next before the sound of rumbling entered their ears.

"Uhhhh....."

"I guess this is where we go."

A little taken off guard the two of them watched as the chair the statue was sitting on before slid to the side opening an exit to the room for them. "Well this is the only way." Taking the first step Xilo walked up to the door figuring it would be like all the others one in this place as he put his hand up close to it as he pushed forward. Unfortunately he was met with the sound of slight laughter behind him as he found himself stumbling forward.

"The one time it isn't like the others...."

"Haha maybe be a little prepared next time. Wait, don't walk away it's okay if your embarrassed."

"...."

Watching Xilo walk away Xelfia could only stop her laughter before following after him. "Cute." Now that this whole thing was over Xelfia could feel a little of herself coming back to normal but she was still tired. "At least this is the end." Catching up to Xilo she followed behind him through a small hallway until she eventually found him standing stock still almost as if he was in shock.

"Xilo?"

With no reply from him she followed his line of sight as she froze as well. "Are you kidding, are we really not done? Haven't we done enough." Grumbling in her head she saw the same Spirit from before floating before them as the door behind them closed. Now she knew why Xilo had frozen up, most likely he knew he couldn't do anything anymore in this fight just like herself. "I guess we weren't- no." Stopping herself from giving up she shook her head as she faced the Spirit as it stared at them.

"Welcome strong ones to the end of your journey."

Still frozen it took them both a second to react to the slightly squeaky voice that entered their ears so suddenly before Xilo finally snapped out of it barely mumbling out of the sentence.

"Aren't you..?"

"The Spirit you saw before I presume. Yes that is me and you can call me the Guardian of this test of sorts."

Still a little lost, Xilo thought back to the time they saw a similar Spirit before and almost couldn't believe his senses for a second. "This thing is hostile." They had been attacked by it twice so far now so it was hard to believe it was a guardian of this place with no one left to prove such a statement.

"But you're kind of Spirits are hos-."

"Hostile? Yes most of us are hostile but I'm a Purified Spirit. This Clan saved me from my endless rampage and set me free. In return I work for them even to this day."

"But we were attacked by your kind before without a word of warning. So your story isn't easy to believe."

"I know it may be hard to believe but Darkness Spirits aren't exactly evil or so I'd like to say."

Xilo tried to deny what the spirit was saying again but he couldn't. The words just didn't come to him anymore. "How can I say it's lying when I don't know anything about it. Nor does it sound like it's lying." Watching it float their Xilo still kept his defense up just in case but it was mostly just for show at this point. If they really were forced to fight again he wouldn't be able to do anything.

"What exactly do you mean aren't evil?"

Chiming in Xelfia was more inclined to believe it after she remembered her encounter with it in the room before. From her point of view it seemed panicky when she approached it so it was probably a weak creature. "Listening to it won't be harmful at least." So giving it a chance to explain itself was the least she could do and Xilo seemed to have a bit of the same idea at least. Floating in front of the two new faces the Spirit tried to find how to word his story but it wasn't easy. After all it had been so long since he had last talked to others as well besides that old Dragon.

"We are a kind of spirit born from extreme negativity when something dies. Over time we begin to evolve eventually coming to life in this form. After that we go on endless rampages taking control of non living things for the most part with no idea what we're doing and with no memory of our lives before. Of course just like me others can also be saved by others but it's a rare occurrence that doesn't happen as much nowadays or that's what that Azurin told me..."

"Wait you know who Azurin is?"

"Of course I do, he's the one who saved me after all."

"I see..So you really are the guardian of this place after all and if you can take control of things then I presume you were in control of that Statue before?"

Xilo had been listening the whole time letting Xelfia talk but now hearing that name and listening to it a little bit he knew it wasn't lying so he decided to trust it.

"That is correct. I am the one who decides what strength of enemy you'll face based on the challenger or challengers strength and control something to attack them."

"I see well since you're here I assume you have something to show us or to say?"

"Besides saying congratulations to the two of you I am also in charge of the exit to this place."

"So we really can escape then, that's a relief."

With Xilo no longer having to worry about that he still had one more question while Xelfia had been silently listening every since the mention of Azurin. "I wonder when we can come back and visit this place though that won't be anytime soon." She didn't particularly care for this place but just like Xilo the thought of Leaving Azurin alone down here completely made her a little sad to think about "No one deserves that." But if this Darkness spirit was with him now it gave her a little less to worry about.

"Oh before we go I have a question."

Grabbing the crystals from his pocket he showed them in hopes of getting some information as well and he even showed his wrist in hopes of learning something.

"What Are these exactly for?"

Looking at the couple crystals and the icicles on the boy's wrist it took the spirit a second to answer.

"I'm sorry I can't help you with the icicles. But all those crystals have a use of boosting their corresponding element that matches the same colour. These are your rewards for passing all the tests."

Hearing that he was a little disappointed about getting no information on the icicles but he was at least happy to learn what the crystals they received were for.

"Are you two ready to leave now?"

Turning to Xelfia they both nodded their heads as they turned back to the Spirit.

""Yes.""

"Very well then. Do try not to get hurt on your way down then."

Bowing slightly as well as a Spirit could a slightly mischievous smile surfaced on its face as Xilo and Xelfia looked on in confusion.

"What-"

But before Xilo could even finish his sentence they vanished from the place entirely.

"Good luck you two."

Staring at the place they were just standed before the Spirit once again vanished until the next time he would be needed again. Whenever that day would be while Xil and Xelfia appeared above the surface suddenly. "What the hell." Looking around for a second Xilo saw the sky for the first time in a while before the feeling of falling took over. Looking around he saw the ground quite a distance from them. "Are you kidding me." Under normal circumstances a fall this size would be nothing to him but now this fall felt like death calling as he looked at the tree tops as he fell.

"Is this what that Spirit meant by not getting hurt. Dammit."Bracing himself he tried his best to keep his body safe as he fell since it was the only thing he could do now while Xelfia did the same before they eventually crashed through some trees before landing on the ground.

*Rustle* *Thump*

""Ack,eck""

Smashing against the ground Xilo and Xelfia began coughing as even more pain ran through them. After a couple seconds of calming down Xilo began to look at the trees around them wondering where they even were before slowly inching his body into a sitting position.

"You alive?"

"Surprisingly."

Watching Xelfia do the same Xilo seriously wondered how they were even still alive after that but he knew they had more important things to think about.

"Where the hell are we?"

"I have no idea."

But before they could say anything else they were interrupted by a soft feminine voice behind them.

"Who are you two?"

Bit longer then I thought it would be.

Enjoy
