Town 8

The journey was long because of the messy dirt road with dead tree trunks sometimes blocking the road which wasted precious time however, things went smoother once the cart went into a much higher quality road with less obstacles.

though... since the road was larger it was more populated with busy traffic, Ferris gave up hiding and simply walked while other people with a ride went past him thinking he was broke or some sort.

"hey get the hell out of the way! these cargo don't pay themselves you twat!" someone shouted behind him

(ahh jeez.. even road rage transcends to different worlds... ) he thought with a sigh to calm himself down

***

(Finally, it didn't take too long... seems like the security here is nonexistent)

In front of him was a massive wall that stretched left and right, seemingly without an end to it. Its height was also jaw dropping as it was about the size of the statue of Liberty, in the middle was a massive gate with iron bars as thick as a tree trunk and a draw bridge that was as equally massive.

"This is not how physics work..." he mumbled

without any form of resistance like an inspection, he entered the walls along with the countless other people moving in and out inside the busy city. The city was quite large and was interconnected with massive roads that branched out everywhere into smaller ones like a tree and its branches. The place was jam packed with houses and marketplaces, not only that but nearly everywhere was filled with people.

(It's so damn crowded, feels like I'm in the middle of times square in New York... how am I going to find those priest?)

"?"

In the distance he saw a faint structure that resembled a church or a cathedral, though it was quite difficult to see it since it was on the same direction as the setting sun.

(looks like a church to me... if it weren't for the hilly terrain this city is built on, I would have not been able to see that with all the structures blocking my view)

"I should take a shortcut through these alleyways"

***

"huff (It's quite far... I've been jogging for about 10 minutes now... this place is peaceful though)"

Having not interacted with humans in a long time, he still felt a bit uneasy with the presence of people who were alive, even more since he's in a busy city filled to the brim with people living their daily lives, Jogging in a quiet and long alleyway gave him some space to breath properly.

"hey" A man came out in Ferris's blindspot to caught him off guard "hand over all your cash"

(dude came out of no where... he's probably just a thug.. )

"what're you waiting for, I'll cut you if you don't hand over me a single penny!" he shouted, the dagger in his hand pointed towards him

...

...

*grab*

With a lighting fast motion he disarmed the thief in mere moments, the sheer speed even created a short lasting gust of wind that lightly tapped his face.

"sorry man, I'm busy"

"!"

Ferris suddenly crushed the knife like marshmallow with his bare hands, rendering it no longer practical to even use. Surprisingly his hand did not let a single drop of blood leave his body despite crushing the blade like that. He then dropped it in the dirty canal, making it even more unpleasant to wield as a weapon.

As if nothing happened in the first place, he continued his jog towards the church.

(even people like them have their own levels, I'm not a killing machine...) he thought, remembering the countless other people like him during his time on Earth

***

-During his time as a rising star hunter-

He sat on top of a massive corpse of what looked like a demon, sharp teeth, dark eyes and a pair of horns that looked like it could pierce nearly anything it stabs through.

It was an open terrain gate with a massive erupting volcano in the background along with charcoal colored mountains with peaks that were as sharp as razor blades, the sky was forever covered with gray clouds that rained ashes which made the entire place as cold as winter despite the lava flowing around.

"It's so damn cold, ah... aahh.. achoo! Can't we just leave already?" a female hunter sneezed in pain, as her armor was barely enough to keep her warm inside the gate

"wait for team B to come back... I think they just killed the boss just now since I can't feel its mana presence anymore.. anyways... how is it Evan? since this is your 1st gate" Ferris said, looking down from on top of the giant corpse

"... I'm.... still getting used to it"

[End]
