Money

Uncle Ken toke me to a place called market . He shopped me new clothes, toke me for bike riding, fed me ice cream then we returned home.

Uncle Ken for the first time washed me. For the first time in a long time he tugged me to bed.I slept in his bed as for him , he said he had some things so he left.

The next morning , I remember I had bacon, uncle Ken said that's what it was called and it tasted delicious.

I was dressed in my new dress that we had bought the day before.

"Uncle Ken are you going to be my father now?" I asked .

"No my child." He smiled.

"Then why am I living with you." I asked. "and not with my uncle."

"Money changes people." He said.

"What's your name again?" He asked.

"Rain." I was overly joyed to say out my name for the first time .

"Ok then. Rain are you ready for another happy day." Uncle Ken jumped up and pulled me up his arm.

"Yes sir." I replied .

I remember going to a park that day . Uncle Ken had bought me a new teddy cause he told the other of my toys were back with my uncle so I might need new ones.

In the evening we went to see fireworks , he said it was new year. I enjoyed fireworks alot.

I ate caramel apple that day. It was crunchy and delicious. But my teeth ached afterwards. When uncle Ken I was going back home . I saw my uncle come out a car.

For some reason I ran to him and hugged him, "Uncle!!" I cried.

"Wh- What are you doing here!!" He screamed." What is she doing here?!" I quickly was pulled back by uncle Ken.

"Is everything alright honey." I hear a female voice. Carine.

" Sorry ma'am . Just my daughter mistaking your husband for my lost brother ." Uncle Ken apologizes and carries me on his arm.

"Uncle! Uncle !!" I scream after my uncle.

"Honey let's go." My uncle pushes his wife gently into a huge mountain of a house.

" Uncle! Uncle!!" I cried as loud as I could. People passing by us stared suspiciously.

"Shut up!" Uncle Ken screamed at me.

"But ....my uncle." I cried. " He's not your uncle anymore . Can't you see ." I shouted. We were on a bridge and no one was around.

"You are wrong!!" I screamed at him. Though I hated my uncle but he was my only family left to call my own .

Then Uncle Ken pushed me in the ground and slapped straight hard right on my face. I burst crying even louder.

"*Tsk. Sorry ,sorry, I didn't mean it ...I didn't ." He pulled me up to hug but I shook myself to draw away from him.

"It's ok... it's ok... don't struggle . I will make all your bad tears run away . Forever. " And then Uncle Ken ran to the edge of the bridge and dropped me .

Dropped me in the river, "I told you Rain. People change with money."

People change with money.....Those words rung as I fell deep under water.
