The Summons

Kurashi carried the weight of his choice with him when he got home. There was a noticeable tension within the group as a result of their split. Kurashi was alone himself in his room when his phone beeped, disrupting the quiet.

Message: "There is a big event tomorrow, and all kids need to be in school. This is an important announcement. From your instructor, Ayumi Nakamura, with regards."

Kurashi frowned as he considered the unexpected call. What could be so important that every student had to be present? The timing was interesting, considering his previous experience with Aiko and the approaching dispute among his organization.

Kurashi saw Aya and the other students as Ayumi was speaking, but his group was noticeably missing. As Ayumi went on, the tension in the room was evident.

Ayumi: "Power is a complicated game here at the academy, looks may be misleading, and connections are fleeting. You're going to take on a singular challenge that will put your flexibility, fortitude, and—above all—your comprehension of the forces at work behind these walls to the test."

Kurashi's mind raced, trying to figure out what Ayumi was trying to say. The faces of his buddies, now gone, remained in his thoughts, throwing doubt on what was about to happen.

Ayumi: "Strategic thinking and teamwork are essential for today's workout. Students that will question your assumptions and promote teamwork will be partnered with you. Because of the constantly changing dynamics at this university, adaptation is essential to survival."

Kurashi couldn't get rid of the impression that the day held more than what first appeared when Ayumi wrapped up her speech. He felt uneasy because of the unspoken tension in his group and the ambiguity of Ayumi's remarks.

Kurashi kept his composure and murmured to himself.

Ayumi: "Over the course of the next five days, you and your crew will make your way through this maze. Reaching the center room and finding the "Key of Providence" is your objective. But there are many obstacles in the way, so only the most savvy and well-coordinated teams will prevail."
