The following morning when Ava woke up she found Mason in his home office where she guessed he must have been working all night because after he stormed off during their argument, he came upstairs and changed his clothes, and went to his home office to go to continue working.
Ava had waited up for him in bed last night, hoping he would come to bed so they could talk. But he didn't.
He had spent the night in his office. Away from her. He was avoiding her. The thought of that made her wince. Was that all she was to him? Sex? That he now has to avoid her because she can't give him what he wants?
"Good morning," Mason said to her in a tired voice as she walked into the office, looking up from his laptop.
"Good morning," Ava responded wrapping her arms around herself as she stood by the door.
