A few dark red spots of blood dotted the floor in front of Maelin's door. Looking over to the left, right under the window directly opposite her door was a dark thick trail of blood which had trailed down coming to a halt, few inches away from where Princess Aria and Lady Leah stood fixed to the spot.

"They didn't even bother cleaning up." Lady Leah sneered, pegging her nose in disgust as the stench seething off it reached her nostrils. "They weren't kidding when they said no one is willing to be in here." She clicked her tongue in disappointment.

"So the rumours were true!" Princess Aria gasped, tugging at Leah's sleeve she signalled they could move ahead.

"How the hell did the King and Royal Advisor Curtis come to this place, unfazed?!" Lady Leah hissed into Aria's ear.

"Would you pipe it down," Princess Aria pushed Leah's face away, "I still value my ears, thankyou!" She narrowed her eyes.

"Sorry!" Lady Leah whispered. "But how are we sure she's in there, anyways?"
