'There's no shot I actually died'
The level of pain and anguish I felt from Miraidon's attack was far beyond the limit of what a dream or even coma was able to produce, leading me to question how real my reality was.
'No shot'
It wasn't beyond the scope of possibility that a lack of sleep for several days in a row could result in death but it wasn't like I felt any pain, in fact it was actually the opposite, my passing painless if it actually occurred.
'But why am I here then?'
Having a deep Pokemon related dream made sense given what had happened before I slept off but if I had truly departed from the Land of Living, why did I find myself inside the Pokemon World Universe?
A dry chuckle escaped my lips as my mind zeroed in on the absurdity of the situation, all the lines of logic making very little sense to me. I closed my eyes and continued to think, allowing my mind to race before I eventually exhaled, a soft weight lifted off my shoulders.
'There's not an awful lot I can actually do about it'
Thinking critically didn't seem to yield any results, prompting me to contemplate my new situation.
'A new life in Pokemon World?'
It wasn't a terrible trade offer, even though they weren't confined to PokeBalls, I technically had two of the strongest Pokemon in the whole game in my possession, the average trainer with their Rattata and Pidgey completely blown out of the water.
'Becoming a Pokemon Trainer could be cool'
Speedrunning all the gyms from across the world with busted Legendaries would undoubtedly be a very enjoyable experience.
'Although maybe not right away'
If I were to do such a thing, I would definitely attract a lot of eyes and attention, something that was not ideal for the short-term.
'Then there's the Double Agent proposition'
Becoming a Double Agent was always going to be a part of my plan.
Using my new life to work for Team Rocket was something that sounded beyond stupid, however, having Professor Oak breathing down my neck would be a little annoying.
'But the pros outweigh the cons'
The Pokemon Training Chamber was an advanced technology that wasn't available to the player until relatively late in the story. This was for good reason as it allowed the player to farm experience, develop friendship and teach moves to Pokemon at an obscenely fast rate, it's existence justifying the insane power creep that came when fighting Legendaries.
Although game mechanics didn't apply to the real world, the Pokemon Training Chamber still massively reduced the difficulty of being a Pokemon Trainer, the proof being how I was able to develop Miraidon in such a short time period.
'My debt is also completely resolved'
There were still benefits for working with Team Rocket.
Although it was through shady means they had early access to insane technologies like Fusion and PokeSync which would completely shake up the world landscape in the future.
By being in the right place at the right time, I could multiply my millions.
'But it would be a bit annoying to juggle all the bad guys at the same time'
In Pokemon World, Lysander, Ghestis and Cyrus were all higher-ups in Team Rocket, the heads of different branches spread across different regions.
Each of them were relatively powerful as well, possessing at least a single busted legendary.
'There's a lot of things I can do from this position'
I concentrated, thinking deeply about what made the most sense given my knowledge.
'The best-case scenario is to try and get a hold of Mew'
In Pokemon World, Team Rocket had long captured Mew, however, just before they committed to creating Mewtwo, they caught wind of the experimental PokeSync technology.
From that point on, Giovanni's objective was to Sync himself with Mew, wanting to exploit Mew's unique abilities.
'Mew is beyond broken in Pokemon World'
On top of learning every move in the game, Mew could also download the DNA of any Pokemon it made a psychic connection with and transform into that Pokemon at will, becoming a perfect copy of it.
With this knowledge in mind, Team Rocket had been subjecting Mew to all kinds of psychological torture since it was captured, gradually breaking down it's mind and willpower until it was simply a shell of itself, only capable of taking orders and commands.
'There's a few ways to go about it'
Obviously I could storm the Team Rocket Base where Mew was held and rescue it by force with Miraidon and Primal Urshifu but I think there was a more intelligent option.
'I could come clean to Giovanni'
It would be a bold and risky move but there was the option for me to pretend to be a triple agent, I could inform Giovanni of all the benefits that came with working with the Institute and their inner workings.
'I could even bait him too'
Once I got into contact with Professor Turo and Sada, helping them power the Dimensional Rift Navigator, I could inform Giovanni of the possibility of travelling to other worlds.
I would say all this under the false pretense of collecting more Master Balls, baiting him into letting me borrow Mew, using it to download the DNA of powerful extra-dimensional Pokemon.
'I think it's too risky'
It was an extremely high risk high reward strategy, removing Mew from the clutches of Team Rocket critical in knee-capping how destructive they could be.
Mew itself would also be a massive buff to my team, arguably the only other Pokemon I would need to recruit since Miraidon was easily the strongest Special Attacker in the game while Primal Urshifu was the strongest Physical Attacker.
'The amount of utility I could get out of Mew is even more insane than Miraidon'
And if I were to humanize Mew, it didn't at all deserve to be mistreated and abused in the way it currently was, deserving much more than that.
'Professor Oak would never agree though'
I physically turned in my bed, my mind honestly set on the strategy but knowing that nobody at the Institute would ever give me the green light, since they would question the plausibility of my claims and my confidence.
'I think I have to just stand on business'
Even in the case that Giovanni only promoted me, giving me a ton of Master Balls to capture extra-dimensional Pokemon, I could still brute force the rescue of Mew.
'But there are still too many variables'
As much as Miraidon seemed to like me, it was still a free agent, able to fly away any time it wanted, there being nothing I could do about it.
And Primal Urshifu was even more of a wild card, although it had enough compassion to help me back to the Institute, it wasn't certain that it would join me.
'I think I'm getting ahead of myself'
When I considered the immediate short-term, the best course of action was to develop my relationship with Miraidon, to the point where it felt comfortable letting me catch it, only then did it make sense to pursue Primal Urshifu and then Mew.
My heart was pounding in my chest, deeply excited at the bright and dangerous journey that awaited me but my body ached terribly, reminding me of my present circumstance.
'Results take time'
Sorry about any grammar issues, I'm trying to stay on top of the alogrithm so I'm rushing a little.
Future chapters should be a bit better
