Ryan was inside the participants room. He was currently resting after the mess that Carl created. A break was given for the participants to prepare themselves. Ryan knew Misty is an powerful enemy. According to the information she has:

Staryu Lv.33, Starmie Lv.40, Dewgong Lv.37.

She has an team that is on par with his. She also has an advantage over his pokemon which was Incineroar. Since Misty is a water type specialist she has type advantage over Incineroar but Ryan also has an advantage over her by Pikachu and Incineroar.

Pikachu due to its electric type advantage over Water types. Incineroar due to its Dark type advantage over Psychic type of Starmie.

Ryan was bewildered that Misty has pokemon only on that level. She comes from a rich family and is a future Gym leader. So, she should be able to afford resources quite easily and level up her pokemon easily.

Ryan didn't think about it more since it was none of his business. Soon the time for finals came. He went onto the stage just as Misty walked out of her corner.

"LADIES AND GENTELMEN THIS IS IT, THE FINALE!! ON ONE CORNER WE HAVE MISTY WATERFLOWER THE FUTURE GYM LEADER OF CERULEAN CITY SHE MAINLY USES HER WATER TYPES

ON THE SECOND CORNER WE HAVE RYAN MORTIMER!!! HE IS GENIUS WHO IS ALSO KNOWN AS THE 'LITTLE PROFESSOR' HE HAS ONLY REVEALED TWO OF HIS POKEMOND AND BOTH OF THEM ARE VERY POWERFUL

LETS SEE HOW THE BATTLE GOES" Said the commentator.

Ryan sucked his breath and said "Burn them to cinders Incineroar"

"Starmie Clobbering time" said misty with an. . . Unique pose one would say. For Ryan she was plainly weird.

The Referee soon started the match.

"Starmie use Hydro Pump!" said Misty.

Starmie started to spew highly pressurized water towards Incineroar. Incineroar just dodged it and used sunny day to power up his fire type moves.

Misty grit her teeth, she knew Ryan would have strategies but he didn't command or even signal it! "Starmie, use swift!"

As Starmie used swift, Incineroar thought 'just like master told!'. He used dark pulse to counter it and used parting shot. Soon Incineroar got swithced for Pikachu.

'Grrr Not only did he switch out his pokemon using Parting shot which was super effective he took away my advantage. No matter now I can use my Psychic moves!' thought Misty.

"Starmie Psychic!" she said

"Pikachu Psychic" said Ryan which had everyone bewildered. Pikachu cannot learn Psychic move at all.

Soon Pikachu's eyes glowed pink just as Stramie's core glowed pink. Both used their move which canceled each other.

"How on Arceus's name can a Pikachu learn Psychic? Don't bother telling TM. Pikachu cannot learn Psychic from TM!" Misty shouted from other end.

Ryan looked at her solemnly and said "My Pikachu has Alolan lineage. One of his parent is Alolan Raichu".

Misty cursed herself for not considering that.

"Pikachu Confusion" said Ryan as he flicked his hand.

"Starmie you too" Misty said thinking her move will hit since her move is on master level.

Much to the everyone's surprise Pikachu launched a Thunderbolt hitting Starmie and paralyzing it.

"What!?" Misty screeched.

"What do you mean by 'What' I just gestured him to use Thunderbolt" Ryan said in a monotonous voice.

"Come in Pikachu, Go out Crobat" said Ryan releasing Crobat.

"Crobat use Cross Poison followed by Bite" Ryan continued.

"No Starmie!!" said Misty

Soon Crobat's hands filled with purple energy. It shot towards Starmie and hit it damaging it badly. It also used bite which was super effective.

Misty prepared for a substitution before Ryan ordered mean look which made Misty unable to switch out Starmie.

Soon Crobat proceeded to prepare a Thunder Fang and finished of Starmie.

Misty returned starmie and sent out Staryu.

"Staryu use swift followed by Power Gem!" said Misty

"Crobat us shadow ball to hit swift and dodge the power gem" said Ryan.

Crobat successfully deflected Swift but Power gem got it.

"Ice beam and Rock slide" said Misty

Ryan told Crobat to dodge but Ice Beam froze its bottom wings lowering its speed a lot. Due to this he got hit by Rock Slide.

Crobat was bloodied it had gashes running across its body. Ryan told the referee to withdraw Crobat from the battle by withdrawing it. The referee allowed it seeing Crobats state.

Ryan was now furious, he was not upset about the fact he lost one of his pokemon. He was furious due to the fact Misty injured Crobat so much even though she knew Ice beam would have been enough.

Most of the people know the Crobat line for their low health and high speed. She was looking smug at the fact Crobat was battered.

Ryan sent out Incineroar.

"Incineroar Agility" he ordered

"Staryu Water gun" misty said.

Incineroar tanked it and used Agility once more.

"Starmie Water gun again" she ordered again

"Incineroar Belly Drum" commanded Ryan.

Unfortunately for misty the two agilities have increased Incineroar's Speed highly. He had used Belly Drum and dodged Water Gun.

"Incineroar Massacre" ordered Ryan in an cruel voice.

Soon the Massacre began. Misty was thinking 'What on Arceus's name is Massacre?'

Incineroar used Fire Punch sending Staryu flying above. Incineroar used Blaze Kick to do an axe kick and sent Staryu down. Incineroar used a powerfull Fire Blast to annihilate Staryu.

"Staryu no!! you monster!" shouted Misty

She saw the impassive face of Ryan and said "Go Dewgong!"

"Incineroar Blaze kick to the head." Ryan said.

"Ice Beam, Dewgong" she shouted

"Throw it up before it can use it" Ryan said.

Dewgong who can't move well on land got gripped by Incineroar and got thrown. Soon Incineroar used a powerful Fire Blast on Dewgong at point blank range.

Dewgong had been defeated. Soon the winner was announced and the prizes distributed. The prize for the top three were pokemons of high rarity. He soon went to pick up his prize with the other two winners.

Soon the commentator and the local professor Caster escorted the top three to get their prizes.

'tch an annoying b****' Ryan thought as he saw Misty coming along with him.
