Ryan was annoyed. He was not annoyed this much by both Gabriel and Lucien combined!. Misty has been glaring at him non-stop. She was being salty that he had won the tournament she had to win to prove that she was powerful trainer than her sisters.

Yet all her plans went to drain when one Ryan Mortimer appeared. She was also angry at him because he humiliated her by defeating her using his Incineroar a Fire type!. A type which were weak to Water type.

From then on she has been glaring daggers at him

"Welcome winners you all will be getting rare pokemon as a reward. We all know that 2nd and 3rd place specialize in a particular type thus we have arranged the prizes accordingly" the Professor said.

"For the first place: You have been presented with an mystery egg from Alola and resources for all type of pokemon to make it grow fast.

For the 2nd place we have an Mystery egg again but it will hatch into a water type. You also get water type resources to boost the pokemon's growth

For the 3rd place we again give a mystery egg which hatches into a Fire type pokemon and Fire type pokemon resources to boost its growth" the professor said as he handed the prizes to the respective owners.

"I'll also give you my phone number so that we all can keep in contact" said the professor as he gave his number and left.

As Ryan started to leave, Misty decided to be a b**** and asked "Why did you humiliate me?"

"I didn't humiliate you at all" he said coldly.

"What! Then why did you use a Fire type to decimate my water types? You also only used Fire type moves!" she screeched.

'She is worried about her reputation as a water type trainer than her pokemon? Guess all humans are the same.' he thought as his eyes narrowed dangerously.

"Are you an idiot? I had used sunny day and used stat boosting moves. Most of my Incineroar's move set are fire type" Ryan said telling half truth.

Misty got angry and said "You could've used Pikachu which had an advantage!"

"Why would I give up a chance when my Fire type can learn how it is to battle a water pokemon and deal a disadvantage" Ryan countered

"Fine" Misty said as she found no more argument and stormed out.

"She is just being salty isn't she?" asked the person who came in third place.

"Yes, very salty" said Ryan

"By the way my name is Fredrik or Fred for short. I'm a Fire type specialist" the person in third place now known as Fred said.

"Ryan, Ryan Mortimer" said Ryan.

"Can I see your Incineroar?" Fred said stars in his eyes.

Seeing no harm in it Ryan released his Incineroar who roared out loudly.

"Wow! I have always wanted an Incineroar for myself!" he said ecstatically.

Ryan didn't know how to deal with a person such as him.

"Hey can we battle only with Fire types" asked Fred

"Sure" said Ryan.

"Go Charizard" said Fred

"Burn your enemy to cinders Incineroar" said Ryan.

"Charizard up to the skies" Fred said

"Incineroar Bulk up" Ryan said.

Soon Charizard flied up and waited for its trainers orders while Incineroar used Bulk up and Agility.

"Charizard Fire blast" said Fred

"Dodge and Wil-O-Wisp" said Ryan.

Soon Charizard charged burning hot flames and shot a Intense flames in the shape of Kanji for Fire. Incineroar who had boosted its speed dodged it though it got a small burn. Incineroar prepared Blue flames which circled him at a high speed and shot it towards Charizard.

Being Fire type it didn't get damaged by Will-O-Wisp but got burned. Ryan smiled as he wanted this. Charizard's attack stat got halved. Since it already has half the effect since Incineroar is Fire type now it will only affect him by one-fourth.

"Charizard Double team and Brick break!" Fred shouted.

"Catch it" said Ryan.

Fred got taken aback due to the bizarre command of taking a brick break and catch it.

Soon Charizard got a hot on Incineroar as it caught it.

"Incineroar Dynamic Punch" said Ryan.

"Charizard escape from there" shouted Fred.

Charizard struggled under the iron grip of Incineroar. Incineroar charged up a fire blast and hit Charizard at point blank range. Charizard fainted due to the sheer power of point blank range Fire Blast which was powered up by Bulk up.

"That was amazing" said Fred as he returned Charizard.

"Thank you" said Ryan.

"Lets share numbers Ryan. We can battle each other whenever we can" he said as they exchanged their numbers.

'Great! another Lucien' thought Ryan

Both of them bid farewell to each other and went on their way.

With Giovanni:

"Who won the Kanto Rookie tournament this year?" he asked his assistant.

"Ryan Mortimer sir" replied the assistant.

"You mean the same Ryan Mortimer whom I met a month ago?" Giovanni asked one of his eyebrow raised.

"Yes Sir" she replied

"Good, he has gotten strong again. What pokemon has he used in the tournament?" Giovanni asked.

"Incineroar, Crobat, Pikachu Sir" she replied again.

"I see, show me the battle videos and levels of his pokemon" said Giovanni as he had been to a meeting when the tournament had occurred.

"I'll prepare it right away Sir" said the assistant.

'Ryan Mortimer, you never fail to surprise me do you? In just a month you have improved drastically.' Giovanni thought.

Giovanni watched all the battles scouting for potential recruits. What surprised him is that Misty Waterflower the Water type gym leader had participated in the tournament. Yet Ryan Mortimer emerged as the victor.

He saw the final battle between Misty and Ryan. He was surprised by the ruthless tactics used by Ryan after his Crobat got injured severely. It wasn't because he was angry about losing one of his pokemon but the girl had injured his Crobat severely.

He had also humiliated her using Fire type pokemon and attacking with Fire type moves only.

'It seems like we will meet again Ryan Mortimer' thought Giovanni satisfied with how Ryan has improved.
