[Oak Laboratories, Pallet Town]

When Lan gets to the Lab. He is greeted by a man with grey silver hair and bloodshot eyes.

Lan: "Professor did you stay up all night again?"

Professor Oak: " You caught me again Lan." rubbing the back of his head with his hand.

Oak "Just keep it between us and don't tell Daisy, please. You know how exciting things can get."

Professor Oak " I was too busy finishing up the updates to the project I was working on. I call it the Pokedex and I am still working out some bugs before the league's mass production. It will eventually replace Trainer ID cards and help us keep track of Pokemon in the wild through the trainers themselves. It will then be spread to different regions and their leagues!" Oak was trembling with excitement.

Lan:" Yeah I won't tell on you. Daisy ended up scolding me and hitting me with a spoon because I was up all night training Noibat"

<Sigh>

"Noibat is just more active at night. I don't see why I can't train it then...

Also, Mrs. Ketchum is taking care of the two of them right now. I need to thank her for getting a gift as she has helped us out a lot by occupying the girls' attention.

Oak "That is a good idea you should look into that. Also, there are some things that we need to discuss." Switching to a more serious tone.

"It's about what you asked me about earlier"

[Flashback to earlier]

Oak and Lan were in the Lab watching at Z getting pummeled by Oak's Monster of a Charizard who Z had repeatedly challenged to a fight. The legendary Charizard was about 2.5 times the size of the standard Charizard and emitted an aura of pure dominance. None of Z's moves could even put a decent scratch on its scales. But Z kept on fighting back each time he was knocked down. Professor Oak and Charizard could see the deeply rooted determination in the young feline.

While they were overlooking the onesided beatdown Lan suddenly asked " Professor do you know of any current underworld organizations that have been in the business of poaching Pokemon from other regions?"

Oak squinted for a sec and a bit of his suppressive Aura slipped out causing Lan to be startled but it was quickly cut off and Lan was not able to get a glimpse of just how powerful the professor is.

"No, not currently, when talking about other regions from but here, on the other hand, we have just a couple of small-time organizations within Kanto and Jhoto. There is the most blatant and troubling is Team Rocket but they are more into despicable crimes as stealing trainers Pokemon along with kidnapping some young trainers and scientists. I don't know if they have expanded into Poaching but many other criminal organizations have been recently falling under their banner."

Lan"So you are saying that this Team Rocket is the so-called leader of the underworld here?" Oak noticed the dangerous glint in Lan's eyes.

"Yes, thankfully I have kept all these people out of Pallet. There might be some more organizations hidden behind them that the League doesn't know about, but why are you asking this? I can only assume that this is the real reason you came back?" Raising an eyebrow at Lan.

"Yes, that is why I am here, that and Alice really wanted to start her Journey here in Kanto. I would like her to be kept in the dark and kept out of these activities. It is too early for her and others to deal with this stuff."

But long story short one of the protected Pseudo- Legendaries nests native to Aloha was raided and lost some of their offspring. Z and I were contacted and tracked down the Poachers. While we recovered most of the young dragons. There were two we couldn't find and they where the Matriarch Totem's offspring. The poachers seemed to send these and a couple of others ahead of the others as a priority shipment.

We interrogated the poachers and apparently they where to deliver these Pokemon to their organization's base somewhere in the Kanto-Jhoto Region and that they were presented the job by an unknown client. The Kommo-o tribe went into seclusion and will not be trusting any offspring to any humans again in the near future if those two are not returned. The matriarch and the Island Guardian gave me 2 years to find them."

Oak"I have heard from my cousin about these totem Pokemon and they seem to be regional phenomenon native to Aloha similar to the numerous variations of species there. I will have to inquire about some things from some past associates but I can probably point you to a direction where there is a large Black Market that the league has been monitoring. You might find some more clues there.

But you will have to be careful and take precautions I don't want to end up losing another student."

"Awww Thanks so much, Professor. I didn't think you thought of me as a student"

Professor Oak just snorted in response and turned his attention to the battle in front of them.

Lan"I owe you one." While looking at Z who was just flung to the other side of the field by a seemingly unmovable and overpowered Charizard.

Lan got up, stretched, and took off his shirt revealing a body that had streamline 8 pack abs and compact muscle. But that is not what drew Oak's attention it was the large and numerous scars that decorated Lan's body. The largest one was a claw mark that extended from his right shoulder across his chest to his hip. He could tell some of them were bite marks along with a group of the scars that seemed to be man-made.

Oak didn't ask anything until he saw Lan head towards the two Pokemon.

"What are you doing?"

Lan smiled "I can't very well ask my Pokemon to fight this type of monster while I stay back and watch right? I have to hold myself to the same standard as I want my partners to have. Also, I have been waiting for a good fight since our trip." smirking and walking over to Charizard while he stopped a couple of meters in front of it.

Lan flared his Aura which stunned Oak and Charizard.

"He is truly gifted to be able to awaken an Aura at this age even those two monstrous students of mine didn't have that until they were a couple of years older. His Aura also feels very dense but he is lacking in its quantity. This should be interesting"

Charizard smirked and motioned with its claws for Lan to attack.

Lan spread his Aura throughout his body in order to enhance it since this was the only way he knew how to use his aura. Faint Silver and Blue Sparks jumped and crackled around his body readying it for the fight. Lan knew he couldn't use this mode for long, just about 20 minutes if he kept his consumption to a minimum. So without any other thoughts he instantly accelerated using his legs and leaving a crater in the ground while he went for a kick at a smirking Charizard.

BOOM!!!!!

Lan "Ahhh that still hurts! My whole body still aches and has bruises from the fight If you can call it that. Charizard he should learn to hold back."

Oak scoffed "Yeah sure like you weren't smiling during the fight. You are lucky you just got bruised."

Lan rubbed the back of his head and laughed embarrassedly

Oak "Anyways I have some information for you. Tomorrow there will be a Large Underground Auction in Vermillion City. That is all that the Leauge knows since most of it is kept under wraps by the International Police as they are monitoring Team Rocket's expansion."

Lan"Damn, it's too far away for me to make it. It would take me weeks to get there"

Oak smiled cunningly and said " Don't you think I know that. Why would I still give you the information about it and not have a way to get there?"

Lan paused from his rant and looked at the Professor indicating him to continue.

"Alakazam can teleport you there anytime."

Lan "WHAT?!! How can he teleport across half of a region?!!?"

Professor Oak looked smug. He generally did not show this side to himself to anyone except his close friends and students.

Lan just threw his hands in the air and gave up trying to explain things here at the Laboratory.

Oak "So are you going to bring your pokemon? You might need backup."

Lan "No not now they are pretty recognizable and they are currently training. Noibat is being mentored by Alakazam since he apparently is a gifted psychic and telepath and Z is well, temperamental when it comes to these things. Also, he is constantly improving his physical and Electrical powers attacking your Big A** Lizard"

Oak chuckled and agreed " Yeah its been a long time since Charizard has found a challenger with so much drive to him."

He then thought for a minute and continued "I know you don't have to worry about wild Pokemon attacking you because of your Aura, but here are 4 Pokeballs and potions just in case you need them. Also, here is a half mask that I picked up when I was younger and ventured into ruins, it should serve you well. Channel a little aura into it and it will obscure your features from any eyes and electronic devices. You don't have to channel it all the time just whenever you need to be completely hidden. Now that we are done here I can get back to work Fufufu."

Lan " You really are becoming a mad scientist "

Oak took off almost skipping to his Lab.

'Sigh well I will ask Delilah to keep an eye on him'. Lan took the black mascarade mask and studied it. "This is going to be fun," Lan said with an evil glint in his eye. He put the items away in his bag and then headed out to find his ride to Vermillion City.
