Pokemon and the Unchained Mind(Pokemon SI AU)

Just when one of my bids to escape from my ever-absent father and overbearing mother failed, I found myself Isekai'd. No big deal, really. Nowadays everyone gets Isekai'd, right? But, I tasted something addictive in the Pokemon World, something I craved for in our world too: Freedom. The excitement I feel when I think of mind-blowing battles I can participate in the Pokemon world helped me decide my future quite quickly, of course. Now, all I have to do, like any good Pokemon fan, is to be the very best. Why don't you join me? .................... -Release schedule: Sunday and Thursday 9:30pm(IST)- total 4 chaps. -The ecchi tag is because the story is intended for 13+ audience and for my creative freedom. But, there won't be too much exploration in that aspect. - The fanfic is mainly about battles and realistic exploration of the Pokemon world, so the Pokemon world is going to be very AU, without losing its original charm. Disclaimer: I don't own Pokémon; otherwise, the target demographic would have been different.

Are my Pokemon weird?

Another three days from our encounter with the Farfetch'd went by in the blink of an eye as we adhered to our schedule.

Cet and Nia surprised me with their progress in the mental games, I think in three more days Cet is going to reach the highest level possible on the device. Nia was also progressing along nicely.

As Nia completed her metal exercises for today, I made her practice Double Team, she was performing better than Cet who was practising for the evasive move double the amount of time compared to her.

I placed Nia's Device in front of him and played some sound-based mental exercises.

He looked surprised and excited at the magic device and sniffed around it before staying still.

'Oh! Maybe I am wrong about him not having patience,' I thought before looking at Nia, who was able to produce an unstable shimmering illusion of herself.

Happy with her practice, I turned to notice Cet absent in front of the device.

'Oh come on!' I thought before looking back to Nia.

"Of course, he is going to disturb Nia," I muttered looking at him hovering around Nia, trying to snuggle up to her.

I tried to make him stay two more times before deciding to think of ways to increase his game's complexity and let him play with his device.

'I don't get how easily he is catching the objects,' I thought looking at him catching four objects consecutively.

I mean you have good reflexes and fast thinking to complete the exercises.

The device has inbuilt self-adjusting algorithms to make it difficult to catch every object in a round, depending on the Pokemon's speed.

I was shocked when I first saw Cet clearing easy difficulty round(for humans) with ease, on the first day itself.

/Flashback/

I looked at Cet to see what he would do as the device fired two ascent objects with one and two arrows into the sky and at the same time a descent object with 2 arrows with very little power.

Cet without any hesitation dived and caught the descent object before flying back and catching the two ascent objects at their peak, just when they were about to descend.

/end/

I thought Cet would take more time than this to learn about the game, I mean he did go after the first object he saw to catch it without caring about the rules of the game on his first couple of tries.

His progression was too much.

'Did he become awakened,' I gingerly thought looking at him catching six objects in the right order with no hesitation at all.

Of course not, becoming awakened comes with a qualitative increase in move damage as the Pokemon learn to control their energy better.

He shouldn't be able to reason at all, not make split-second decisions like they are candy.

Nia's progress is ahead of average wildling Pokemon, surprising me again.

She was with me for less than 20 days, which was a very small amount of time as having a single awakened Pokemon is the requirement to be able to participate in the third gym battle, the gym battle which is months away from me.

I don't know whether it is because she had a psychic Pokemon as a parent or something, not that I know her heritage except for the Swanna, but with me not being able to access forums, I decided it was me who was facilitating their explosive growth.

'My talent's grade is going to be above S. If my Pokemon keep growing like this,' I thought with a happy grin across my face.

'But, grades are only assigned after one of your Pokemon becomes awakened which is soon shortly if I base my speculations on Nia's performance, ignoring the anime MC freak Cet, who I am sure is using his instincts to catch the objects in the correct order,' I thought sarcastically looking at Cet qualifying for next round.

We completed our morning training and resumed our travel; Nia continued her practice of Double Team behind me.

She seemed to have more interest in Double Team than in learning Agility, she spent most of her free time practicing Double Team.

'Well, if I can create my illusory double, maybe I will practice hard too,' I thought looking at the glitching image created by the Ducklett.

I turned around to see Cet playing tag with trees as usual.

Just as I was about to shake my head at the difference between my two Pokemon, I heard Ducklett cry out its name, making me turn around hastily.

I turned back to see two Duckletts staring back at me with beady eyes and with the silly Ducklett look.

I was ecstatic that Ducklett managed to pull off this move. Nia for part stared at her Double making it stare at her right back.

As the two Ducklett continued their stare-off, Cet crashed the party.

He began sniffing around the illusory double, making Nia turn her back to him.

The double also copied Nia with some time delay.

Undeterred Cet continued sniffing around and tried to lick it making the illusion disappear.

Seeing it disappear he nudged Nia making her use the move again to fool him.

After licking the illusory double to death, he hovered in the same spot.

'What! why is he being still?' I thought looking at the unusual behaviour of the Zubat.

As I was about to touch him a second Zubat flickered into life before disappearing.

"Awesome," I exclaimed, this was the first time Cet had any result on using Double Team.

'Wow! Seeing the move helped him tremendously,' I thought, before taking treats for both of my Pokemon.

Nia radiated smugness the rest of the day.

'My Pokemon are weird,' I thought, feeling the Ducklett's weight on my head while walking.

We stopped for our lunch and continued walking until evening.

The sun danced on the horizon indicating the time for our evening training.

Cet made huge progress in learning Double Team that day making me sleep with a smile on my face.

….

The next day came bringing hope with it. Hope that Cet will pull off Double Team so that I can get to the other main reason, I bought Double Team TM instead of two TRs, even though the TM is more costly, of course aside from being too able to use when any number of times.

The company suggests using the TM of the same type sparingly, at least with a 2-day gap, as repeated usage doesn't give better results.

Nia was very close to executing the agility move in standard time. She was able to buff herself up in 30 seconds before, but the time was steadily decreasing as we travelled.

The average time for performing Agility is 4 seconds. In Today's morning training, she buffed herself up in 5 seconds.

The good news of the day didn't end with that as well into the dusk, Cet finally pulled off the Double Team.

An excited grin split my face as I looked at two copies of Cet trying to barrel into each other, making one disappear.

Nia on seeing Cet perform Double Team, practised Agility with renewed vigour, finally nailing it as our Evening training ended.

I rewarded Cet and Nia before going to sleep excited about tomorrow.

I woke up the next day bursting with energy ready to implement my plan.

After letting my Pokemon play with their devices for some time, I gathered them together.

To teach them Quick attack.

Yes, I was hoping to teach them Quick Attack as they learned Double Team already, which is a more complex application of Normal energy.

Before I realised that Cet couldn't see any videos, I downloaded a Quick Attack clip for him as I guessed he would learn Mega Drain very quickly, as it is the direct upgrade of the move Absorb. However, him unable to see the Double Team video slowed his overall progress.

I was hoping he would help Nia in learning Quick Attack as he has more experience with normal energy than Nia in the form of Supersonic moves.

'All is well if it ends well, I guess,' I mumbled before using Double Teams on both of them.

"Lunge," I called out before jumping forward as two Pokemon observed me.

After doing that a couple of times, I got them to mimic me.

Both Pokemon flapped their wings hard to gain a sudden increase in speed- lunging essentially.

I made them repeat it for some time before and gave a new command again.

"Double Team," I called out.

As the normal type of energy swirled around them, I shouted lunge again.

Making them dash forward again- on instinct. After repeating the same thing for some time.

I showed Ducklett the video of Quick Attack, cementing the idea. Cet not being able to see created a massive disadvantage for him.

But with him having more experience with normal energy, I was eager to see who would master the move first.

Next release will be on monday, according to the webnovels time.
