Impatient Grandfather

While Daikon slept, undercurrents were occurring on a faraway island. This island was surrounded by mist and difficult for outsiders to find.

Interesting thing about this island was that dragon pokemon could be found everywhere on it. The island had a mountain range that went from coast to coast and in the middle of the island stood three mountains significantly larger than the others. These three mountains were home to the three main clans of the Draconid Clan resided with different branch clans surrounding them.

"Han successfully bounded and hatched his clans Blessed dragon!"

"I heard that too! I also heard that the Long Patriarch gave him the clans dark weapon!"

"No way! Now there are two people with Blessed dragons!"

"Both the Long and Arach clans have Blessed dragons while the Khoth clan has none."

"Will the Khoth clan finally fall from its strongest clan status?"

People were talking quietly amongst themselves about recent events that had happened on the island.

The middle island was home to the powerful Khoth Clan, who had held the strongest clan title for many years. Deep in the mountain a important meeting was going on with all the important figures in the clan.

"As you have heard, Han from the Long Clan has successfully bonded with a Blessed dragon. Both the Long and Arach clans now have Blessed dragons, putting immense pressure on our Khoth Clan." a man with greying dark hair stood up and said. He had a powerful body and gave off a suffocating pressure. He was Gerald Khoth, the patriarch of the clan.

"We need one of our younger generations to bond with our Blessed dragon! Harold, you must give us the egg of the Blessed!" a middle aged man stood up, yelling and glaring at a man who seemed disinterested in the meeting.

All eyes turned to Harold, who had a bored look on his face. Seeing that he became the center of attention, Harold's red eyes became cold. The patriarch looked at his son with worry. Every since he came back from exploring the outside world 15 years ago, he became distant and cold, taking less and less interest in the clan.

Harold slowly stood up, his body was built like his fathers but unlike his father, he didn't give off an overwhelming pressure. Nobody dared judge him on this though, it was well known that Harold was powerful and someone people shouldn't cross.

His black hair was long and flowed down to his shoulders with sharp eyes and chiseled face. If one would compare, Daikon and Harold looked 80% similar.

"Shut up Jeff. Do you really think our younger generation has anyone capable of bonded with a Blessed dragon? Your son is the strongest out of our children but he still gets his ass kicked by Han and Lynn and he is older." Harold coldly said as he stared at Jeff.

A cold sweat appeared on Jeff's forehead but he stood his ground, "It doesn't matter! We need a someone to bond with a Blessed dragon and my son has the best shot!" Jeff shot back. The rest of the elders nodded their heads in agreement. Even the Patriarch had to agree with the man.

"Harry, give us the egg." the Patriarch calmly said, his voice filled with authority.

Harold looked at his father before a small smile appeared on his face.

"No." he simply said.

Seeing the determined look on his sons face, he knew that Harold wasn't going to change his mind. The patriarchs face darkened.

"Arrest him. Search his interspatial ring and home for the egg." the patriarch said coldly.

Harold slowly stood up, causing everyone to hold their breaths thinking he was going to fight back. To their surprise he calmly walked over to the guard and held his hands out.

The guard carefully handcuffed him and took him away to the clans prison.

---

A couple days had passed since the arrest of Harold Khoth, causing a ripple across the island. Known for being one of the stronger cultivators on the island, it shocked people that the patriarch arrested his own son.

Deep in the Khoth Clan…

The patriarch walked down the steps into the clan's prison. He walked up to a cell and saw his son leaning back against a wall with his eyes closed.

"Dismissed." he curtly said to the guards. The guards gave a quick bow and left them alone.

They both sat there in silence.

"Mind explaining yourself." the patriarch cooly said.

Harold opened his eyes and stared at his father for a couple minutes before letting out a deep breath.

"Make sure the place is safe to talk." Harold said to his father. The patriarch nodded and released his aura. After checking there was no one in ear shot he retracted it and said, "It's safe."

Harold nodded but didn't speak. He stared at his dad before saying, "You have a grandchild."

The patriarch blinked, shocked. "A g-grandchild?" he stuttered, still in shock.

Harold nodded but didn't elaborate. The patriarch finally got over his shock and let out a loud bolstering laugh that filled the dungeon. Harold was his only son, his wife had died shortly after giving birth to him. Harold not marrying had always been a problem for him.

"Where is he? How old? Why didn't you bring him back?" the old man shot off questions in rapid succession.

Harold smiled at his father. "His name is Daikon and he should be 15 now." Harold said with longing in his voice.

"Why didn't you bring him back!?" the patriarch said angry. He had been a grandfather for 15 years and he didn't know!

"For his safety." Harold quietly said.

"Safety!? Though assassination attempts have happened, do you think I wouldn't protect my grandson!?" the old man was truly angry now.

"No." sadness filled Harold's voice as he looked into his father's eyes.

Seeing his son's expression, the patriarch calmed down. "Why not?" he simply asked.

"Because he is a Dragonborn." Harold said solemnly.

The room went quiet. The old man's face was filled with shock once again.

Dragonborn.

Something spoken about in legends on the island.

"Are you sure?" the old man's expression was serious.

"When he was born he had his mother's blue eyes but when Dragonite touched him, his eyes turned red with a vertical pupil. He drained Dragonite of almost all his energy." Harold said calmly.

"So you left the egg with him." the patriarch understood now.

"And my sword." Harold gave a small smile.

"Where?" the old man asked his son.

"You will put them in danger." he said, shooting a dangerous look at his father.

"I will use the excuse of looking for the egg. I haven't met my daughter in law or my grandchild for 15 years. We both know I am not a patient man." the old man said, shooting his son a glare.

Letting out a breath of defeat, Harold said, "Pallet Town, Kanto."

The old man gave a quick nod and turned to leave.

"Please tell them I am sorry." Harold said, emotions thick in his voice.

Nodding, the old man left the dungeon.

---

A few days later, the Patriarch of the Khoth Clan announced that his son had told him where the egg was and was leaving to retrieve it himself because of the severity of the issue.

The old man threw out a pokeball, a reptilian, bipedal Pokémon with large, membranous wings appeared.

"To Kanto, Aerodactyl." the man said as he jumped on the pokemon's back. A large smile covered his face.

'Time to meet my grandson.'
