Pre-Domain concept

"I heard that you are making training grounds, right?", asked Elizabeth.

"Yes, it is in the process of completion."

"However, you also know that any fire-type training grounds would not be as good as here in Charicific Valley, cause Charicific Valley has a volcanic mountain and it is made in such a way that it would nourish Charizard in every way."

"What are you proposing?"

"The elemental training grounds that you are making near your home are only suitable till your Pokemons are in pseudo-champion rank. It would not be suitable when your Pokemon reaches champion rank and above. 

They would need a separate environment for their types to have a good effect. I am going to invest and make these training grounds. Training grounds except for basic stat training grounds would be made by me for you and I will do all the work and I will invest all the money.

What do you have to say about that? Is that enough?", asked Elizabeth.

"It is very much enough."

"However, I also want my Pokemon to be trained there.", said Elizabeth.

"Alright, but only your Pokemons. Not your friends or families or relatives or anyone other than you.", said Axel.

"That is alright. It may take years to make cause I have to select a suitable place for it. But I will do it.", said Elizabeth.

"I understand that but I will be looking at monthly reports."

"Now, can you tell us the secret?", asked Elizabeth.

"No, not until we have a written agreement or some sort of guarantee that you are going to do all these things.", said Axel.

"You didn't ask Oak for it."

"Cause I trust Oak. I don't trust you.", said Axel with a smile.

"You are very devious. Ok I will write the contract here and sign it.", said Elizabeth.

It took some time but she wrote all the conditions of the contract. Axel read it till the end and both of them signed it. 

"Now, can you tell us about it?", asked Elizabeth.

"Ok, I will start. 

A few months ago, as I was researching the moves that my Pokemon would learn, I came up with an interesting move called 'Ancient power'.

The description said that the move would attack with prehistoric power that may raise all the stats of the Pokemon. 

This got me thinking. We all know about ancient Pokemons. I think you guys know about it more than me. I thought that the prehistoric power was something interesting. I believed that a Pokemon would activate their ancient Pokemon powers in their DNA while using this move.

Also, the chance of increasing all of their stats cemented my hypothesis. We all know that ancient Pokemons were more powerful than current Pokemons. So, I started to train my Piloswine in this move to the limit. It must have bypassed and modified the move capability and it evolved to Mamoswine."

"What? Piloswine could evolve?", asked Elizabeth.

"It turned out that it could and I did the same for Charizard. I half expected it to evolve too but it seems that it could not evolve and it now has all these scales around it. I believe that it is now closer to its primal self."

"So, how did you train it?", asked Oak. This was the main question.

"At first, I told it to use the move repeatedly and fight with others using the move. When it got to the point that it was very fluent with the move, I told it to change the way it used the move. 

Normally, Charizard would gather up that prehistoric power and attack the Pokemon and it may have a chance to raise all of its stats. But I told it to not attack the opponent but to take that prehistoric power and try to power up itself. 

It took many months for it to be able to do it and when it did, it must have become like this."

"I never thought that moves like 'Ancient power' could do such kind of things. There are many mysteries in the world.", said Elizabeth.

"But the training routine that he told Charizard and Piloswine to do it is very hard. It is not easy to modify the move as these moves are in their DNA.", said Oak.

"Yes, I have told other Pokemons to modify their moves and they have been able to do it. Even Charizard's 'Wing attack' is modified but modifying 'Ancient power' seemed to be a lot harder than other moves.", said Axel.

"It would be hard but not impossible. If Axel's Charizard could do it then why not ours?", said Elizabeth.

Modifying moves was easier than creating a new one but even modifying moves took a lot of time and effort. It was due to Axel's system that he found it easy to do it. 

"Ok, I will give you a copy of how my Charizard had those scales and I will also give you the requirements and process of higher ranks. I would check your Charizard and then I would go back. Do you plan to stay here?", asked Oak.

"Yes, I may have to stay here a bit longer.", said Axel.

"Let's go to your Charizard now. It must have woken up.", said Oak, and all of them went to the place where Charizard was sleeping. 

It was not sleeping now. It was just checking its body. There were many changes in its body. Its height had grown. Previously it was around 6 feet tall now it was almost 7 feet tall. 

ROAARRRR

It roared announcing its presence then it saw Axel coming towards it and flew toward him to greet him. 

Axel patted its head saying, "You did a good job. 'Ancient power' leveled up and you have become stronger."

He also took out the locket.

Ding!

Charizard is ranking up. Do you want to extend the rank up?

  ---

"Yes, extend it."

  ---

Ding!

Please specify the rank-up condition.

  ---

"Its agility should be SS rank and it should learn a pre-domain move.", said Axel.

The rank-up condition had been specified and Charizard needed to wait for some time. 

It must be noted that even though it was recommended for a Pokemon to have a pre-domain move, it was not the case for every Pokemons. If a Pokemon was extremely strong for a pseudo-king rank, it could by-pass the pre-domain condition and the same thing was happening to Charizard.

It could feel that it had gotten way stronger than before. All of its dragon-type attacks had leveled up and most of them had also crossed the threshold. So, did that mean that it was turning towards dragon-type Pokemon?

Oak did say that Charizard was a dragon-type Pokemon in ancient times. Axel thought that his assumptions on 'Ancient power' were spot on. 

"We will challenge the top position of pseudo-king rank in 2 days.", announced Axel to Elizabeth. 

Elizabeth could also feel that Axel's Charizard would beat the current top position. 

Axel just wanted Charizard to get friendly in its new form and he also wanted it to train on its agility so that it could rank up to king rank.

"I would be here for 2 days. We will train and get comfortable with your new form and then we will challenge the top position."

ROAAARRRR….

Charizard was just thinking about the same thing. 

Oak moved around Charizard and started to examine him. He took a couple of photos and asked, "Charizard, can I take a blood sample."

Charizard looked at Axel and Axel said that it was okay. So, it let Oak take a blood sample. 

"Red, would you be staying here or will you come with me?", asked Oak.

"I would stay here. I want to see Axel's Charizard and how powerful it really is.", said Red.

"OK then. Sionara." , said Oak and disappeared with Alakazam.

Axel, Red, and Charizard went to training ground number 8. Axel called out all of his Pokemons. All of them circled around Charizard and started to talk to it. 

"So, how were you able to do it?", asked Red.

Axel then went on to talk about 'Ancient power' and how it all happened. Red could make a guess as Axel had already told him about the 'Ancient power' and its possibilities.

"Axel, I could make a probable guess and say that 'Ancient power' is one of the requirements for god rank. 

However, there are lots of Pokemons who could not learn the move, 'Ancient power'. What are there ways to reach god rank? Have you thought about it?", asked Red.

Axel had never thought too long. His Pokemon were now only in pseudo-king rank, so he didn't need to think about it. But Red had asked a good question. 

Axel thought to think about this issue after the league battle was over. His hands were tied and he was very busy right now. 

Charizard already knew who Red was. Axel didn't need to introduce him. Red also started to look around Charizard. 

"The scales of your Charizard and Oak's Charizard are very different." , remarked Red.

"How is it different?"

"Oak had gone through a lot to create those scales for his Charizard. Even I don't know the whole process but he had entered many unknown places and islands and let his Charizard face those environments.

Your Charizard scales look very natural. As if it was there the moment it was born but Oak's Charizard's scales are very artificial compared to yours. That is the only difference that I could say as of now.", said Red.

Axel told Charizard on how Red was training him and his Pokemon.

Charizard blew out the smoke from its nose saying, 'Yes, you should also get some training.'

It didn't want its father to be weak. Axel could understand that. Charizard could also feel that Axel was stronger than before. It didn't show any expression but subconsciously, Charizard had acknowledged Axel as its trainer. 

"Charizard, all of your stats are SS rank except for agility."

ROAARRR

It gave a disappointing roar. Charizard was a type of Pokemon that focused on what it could not achieve rather than what it had achieved.

"I have set up your rank-up condition to upgrade your Agility to SS rank. So, we would go to the flying training ground and train there.", said Axel.

They went to the flying training ground and started to train. Axel switched on the machines of the training ground and Charizard started to move and dodge the obstacles. 

Axel found out that Charizard was perfect. The level of the training ground was set to be the best for a pseudo-king rank. It could be increased but that was for a King rank Pokemon. 

Axel knew that the machinery was not wrong and Charizard was perfect on all the obstacles. So, what was wrong?

"Can I interject here?", asked Red.

"Of course.", said Axel.

Red was an experienced trainer and he could figure out a lot of things just by observing. He could tell that Axel was very protective of Charizard. He could feel the same way about Nidoking. 

That was why he never interfered while making training plans for Nidoking. Even though a trainer considered his Pokemons to be his partner or his child, there was always a difference in how a trainer felt about each of his Pokemons.

Nidoking was the first Pokemon of Axel. Shedinja was the knight of Axel's team. It was also very close to Axel cause Axel had seen its downfall and its growth. Charizard was the first egg Pokemon of Axel.

These 3 Pokemons were very close to Axel. Even Axel didn't know about this. He had made a point to treat every Pokemon with the same love and attention. But Red, being an experienced trainer could tell that Axel was very protective about Charizard. 

So, he asked for permission before saying anything cause he didn't want any beef with Axel.

"Agility is not only how fast you run or how fast you fly. It is also about how you move every part of your body. Like its claws and its legs or every part of its body.

I feel that you should also train your Charizard on its reaction time.", said Red.

Axel thought about it and decided that Red may be right. He could upgrade the machinery for king rank Charizard and it may reach king rank from the training but its movement from its claws, neck, and legs would not be trained properly.

"Let's train on your reaction time.", said Axel.

ROAAARR

It was ready to do anything to reach higher stages. It had seen king rank Charizard, pseudo-champion rank Charizard, champion rank Charizard, and master rank Charizard. It was not going to let these Charizards overpower it for so long.

After 2 days,

Both Charizards were ready for battle. The scar on the opponent Charizard was very visible on its face. It was ready to defeat this kid another time. 

"Let the battle begin…!"

The opponent, Charizard 1 (for this battle, the opponent will be called 'Charizard 1') flew towards Charizard with extreme speed. Its wings were glowing and it was ready to use 'Wing attack'.

Its right wing was now going to strike on Charizard's chest..
