The fresh air of the new environment welcomed Evie, she was at the international airport in Singapore. Her private jet just landed.
As usual, the convoy of cars was waiting for her. She began to walk elegantly towards the parking area, bodyguards circled her, while the commoners who were privileged to be at the airport when she arrived stared at her. It was not easy for a celebrity to be seen at the airport.
"Ma'am," Mia rushed to hug her, it had been quite a while since they last saw each other.
"Mia, how are you doing?" Evie asked
"I am fine ma'am," Mia replied.
The duo entered the already opened door of the Rolls Royce, they settled in it before the driver and the security cars drove off.
Mia scrutinized Evie's face, all did not look well, she did not look like the vibrant Evie.
For someone who was going to perform in her first large crowd, she did not look enthusiastic about it rather it felt like she was nursing her pain.
Mia knew Evie very well, she had worked with her for the past eight years, previously she had the idea that all rich people were saucy, and liked to exercise power but after meeting Evie, her perspective about them changed. She was as free as the air.
"Ma'am, is everything alright?" Mia was forced to ask, seeing her moody appearance.
"Yes," Evie forced a smile on her face, but Mia was not the one to easily be deceived, she could still see through her facade.
"You do not look alright," Mia stressed and Evie understood why she felt like that.
Mia had always wanted her to achieve her dreams, she took upon the responsibility like it was her dreams, she cared about her a lot and she was more than an assistant to her.
"I do not look well, right?" Evie asked and Mia nodded, Evie let out a shaky breath before turning to view her.
"I agree, I am not alright but not to worry, I would fix everything," Evie reassured Mia, but the question was how would she fix everything?
"Ma'am, you are a good person and you deserve all the best, please do not let whatever that is bothering you get to you, there is no problem without a solution," Mia encouraged her and Evie only smiled.
Their vehicles pulled up at the Love Musical Theater. They alighted the vehicle and was led backstage without any disturbance from the reporters' thanks to the security officials, without them, they could have been doomed to questions from the reporters.
Evie exchanged pleasantries with the different musical artists who were also invited to perform, it was a sight to behold seeing different musical artists, even her favourite artist came.
Mia led her to a room where she would make up and dress as well.
"We are here," Mia announced opening the door that gave a view of the beautiful room.
"Sit here ma'am, let me go get the makeup artist," Mia told her before dashing out of her room.
In no time, Mia was back with two good-looking women, who wasted no time and began to do her makeup.
"Is this your natural hair colour?" The blonde asked, Evie looked up at her through the mirror, their eyes connected before Evie replied,
"Yes, I do not dye my hair,"
"Wow! It is very rare to see people with red hair that is not dyed," she added.
"My mom has a darker shade of red hair while I got the lighter shade of it," Evie explained.
"Oh I see, it is in the genes," she smiled.
Evie gazed at herself in the mirror and was satisfied with what she saw, her makeup was mild and simple, it just highlighted her natural features.
She was on an orange crop top, black bum shorts, and an over-the-knee boot.
Her long red hair was packed up in a high ponytail, with a few curly strands falling on her face, and the edges of her hair were perfectly curved, and she looked gorgeous.
Her heart was beating loudly, knowing that she was the next musical artist to perform on stage, she paced up and down, giving herself a pep talk.
"Next on the line is Evie!" The MC announced causing a roar of 'yes' coming from the people.
Evie appeared on stage and she took it all in, her first large crowd! There were thousands of people cheering her, and a smile curved on her beautiful face. Her fans always made her happy.
Evie began to sing, at first, no instrument accompanied it, it was just her beautiful voice that echoed in the speaker.
'Can I get enough of you
You seem too much for me
I love you from the depth of my heart and I wish no one but you' then the drums started and the people also joined in her song. It was an amazing sight to behold.
Evie sang and forget about her problems, this was the effect of music on her, before she became a musician, anytime she wanted to forget her problems, it is either she listens to a song from her favourite musician or writes songs.
Her soul was tied with music, she derived joy, happiness and peace from it.
The first song came to an end, yet the people were screaming 'more!'. Evie could only smile and gave them what they wanted.
After her second song she cleared her throat to speak, it was time to announce the bad news, a lone tear escaped her eyes but she was quick to wipe it off.
She was going to break not just her fans' hearts but that of hers, why was her career ending like this?
She boldly walked to the middle of the stage and faced the people who had been there for her.
She gulped, her eyes were swelling with tears and many emotions clouded her, she is going to tell them! Going to announce the bad news.
It was now or never.
