Chapter 4- First Effect

The world lay frozen in time, as an androgynous voice rang out, its words carrying an ominous weight that would forever alter the course of human history. As the countdown reached its final seconds, a sense of foreboding began to creep into the hearts of all who heard it. What was about to happen?

And then, with a suddenness that left everyone reeling, the world burst into frenzied motion. People awoke from their stupor, only to find themselves caught up in a chaotic maelstrom of destruction. Planes, helicopters, and jets careened out of control, smashing into mountains, skyscrapers, forests, and oceans with deadly force. Drivers collided with other drivers, buses, trucks, schools, hospitals, commercial buildings, and homes, sending up plumes of dust and debris.

It was a moment of total mayhem, causing a toll of unimaginable death that would haunt the world for generations to come. And the chaos did not stop there. Ships that were docking in harbors all around the world broke loose from their moorings, crashing into piers and docks with a force that shattered steel and wood alike. Surgeries that were taking place in hospitals forced thousands of doctors to make hurried and haphazard decisions, leading to numerous medical mistakes that would cost millions in death lawsuits if the world had not been plunged into chaos.

In the aftermath of this cataclysmic event, the world would be left to pick up the pieces all while facing their new reality. But the scars of that day would remain forever, etched into the memory of all who had witnessed the apocalypse that would soon engulfed them.
