The misunderstanding

"Since you're single, how about we get engaged?" 

Hearing this, John unintentionally let out the words 

"What?" 

Suddenly, the attention of the two, turned to John who was on the other side of the door. 

[Engage? Serena... And him?] 

"Huh? John, when did you arrive?" Serena asked 

She wore a long silver dress which matched the colour of her soothing silky long hair. She even wore cosmetics which brought out the full extent of her natural beauty. She didn't wear a hat, but her hair was long enough to cover her ears as they weren't visible. 

There was no doubt in John's mind that she looked beautiful, she reminded him of the moon. But as much as he wanted to continue to appreciate it, his mind was filled with confusion
