Chapter 3

I wake up on my bed, eyes tired and heavy from all the crying yesterday.

I walk down stairs to get what to eat and see a sticker note placed on the fridge.

I left pancakes in the microwave

Heat up for breakfast

There's money on top of the fridge for you to order what to eat

We will talk later when I return.

Mom.

After eating to my stomach's content I head back to my room to watch a few movies. Obviously nothing close to romance. I drown myself in Martin Lawrence and Will Smith's Bad Boys For Life.Who would have thought Mike had a son!

My phone starts ringing. Evans name appears on the Caller ID and I immediately decline.I order chicken pizza and put my phone on silent. It arrives 30 minutes after order. After paying the pizza boy I go back to the room and watch more comedy, fantasy and action films while eating the tasty pizza.Eating food always calmed my nerves especially angrily stuffing my mouth with mango ice cream.

Before five in the afternoon,I took a warm shower and slept some more.

There's a gentle knock on my door. Black hair and brown eyes stare at me.

"Come in mom," she saunters in and sits on my bed.

"I brought some burgers honey.please come down and eat we have a lot to talk about," she says. With that she plants a kiss on my head and walks away.

The kitchen was silent as the two of us sat down to eat the medium sized burgers she bought.

"I talked to your father yesterday,"she breaks the silence. I take a tiny bite on the burger as I wait for her to continue.

"He said we should get you a new school,"

"Oh," is all I can say.Mother sips on her mango juice before speaking again.

"We already discussed your new school and got you a place."

"Which school?" I ask.

"Reform Academy,"

"What?" My face held a baffled expression.

Reform Academy was a school for bad kids in high school and a few university students. There was no way I would survive there. The students would probably skin me alive.

"The decision is final," mother affirms.

"It is a school for bad kids I would not survive," I say hoping to make her change her mind.

"I believe that bad kids do not get expelled from schools," she notes.

If only she knew the entire truth she would not make such a decision in hast.

"Mom,you do not know the entire truth,I...."She cuts me short.

"Truth or not you still need to enroll in a new school," when I do not respond she continues.

"Your father and I want what's best for you," I am unable to continue eating.

Despite the bad news I help mother to wash the glasses that had the juice. She looked tired and worked for long hours.

The bed could not even be comforting enough for me to sleep my stress off. Only one person could listen to me so I dial his number. Luckily he answers on the first ring.

"Hello sweetie,"

"Hi dad," I respond.

"If you want to apologize for being expelled, don't. I know you are innocent." Hearing him say that made me burst in to tears.

"Shush do not cry Becky," I could hear the concern in his voice so I tell him the entire truth.

"My little girl is going through so much,"he is right.

"Why did you agree to take me to Reform Academy?" I ask him. Perhaps now that he knew the truth he could change his mind.

"It will be a break for you. You get to start over. Just think of it like joining college after all you will be, next year

so better to adopt. And no controlling mother," we both laugh at his last statement.

"How is Rose?"I ask him.

"She is fine, she's with Kate now actually." Rose is his daughter and Kate the woman he left mother for.He tells me that his daughter has grown from the last time I saw her. She could be around five years old. Having dad's deep green eyes. Her hair was blonde the last time I saw her two years ago when they came to Washington DC because Kate had an important meeting with an affluent business man.Rose had her mother's hair color, lips and smooth skin.I could not wait to see her again. Some how talking to my dad always soothes me.My heart felt less heavy and I was able to sleep peacefully.

The next evening I tell mom that I spoke to dad and that he convinced me to go to Reform Academy.I would have told her earlier but she leaves early for work. I was deep asleep. She seemed happy about the news and gave me some money to shop. She asks if I'll do my shopping with Chloe but I lie and say she's too sick to go shopping. Well I did not lie by saying she was sick. She is sick in the head.

I shop new clothes. Shirts, skirts, underwear, bras, jeans, sweatpants and a lot more.Through our the entire week I visit stores to get other items.

By Saturday, mom was driving to the school. A new journey would commence for me. I hope I do not encounter more drama.
