Percy Jackson: the avatar system

balance.... the one word that describes what the world needs most, the one word that depicts the situation as it truly is. the world has never been this unbalanced since the dark ages, where monsters vastly outnumbered mortals, and vastly out matched them.... with kronos's return, the world is thrown into a new age of darkness and unbalance... and Percy Jackson.... he's right in the middle of it. fourteen year old Percy Jackson has seen things he can't explain, alien like creatures that roam the streets and randomly eat people off of them... but no one else sees them, to everyone else... Percy Jackson is a delusional idiot, and not the cool kind either. one day, out of the blue, Percy is thrown into the middle of a battle against kronos's forces... getting hurt in the process, and awakening a god like power that sleeps within him. waking up in a mysterious camp for supposed kids like him, Percy receives a letter saying that he is the owner of the avatar system, and that he must bring balance back to the world.... by learning how to bend the elements, ALL of the elements. will his quest for balance lead to his utter demise, or will it lead to the unification of the world, or at the very least... the gods? chapter 2: a display of power

Annabeth POV--

----------------------

Being a demigod I thought I've seen it all, from gods to Titans, and unexplainable things... But this, this was a new one. The boy that had tried to save me stood there with his hand put up almost touching the axe, air began to circulate up and down his right arm as he held up the axe using the breeze he created. The axe then began to move upwards as the boy summoned more air to do his bidding, and the look of the Cyclops face was priceless as he struggled to control his axe. As the boys hand stretched out towards the heavens, I caught a glimpse of his glowing white eyes, and they put something in me that I haven't felt in a long time.... Hope. The breeze began to pick up as my hair and clothes shook violently, suddenly the boy jerked his hand to his right and the axe went flying off into the woods. More air began to circulate around him as he began to rise up higher and higher forming a tornado around him, his emotionless white eyes remained fixed on the Cyclops in front of him. The one-eyed buffoon shook in fear as he stared at the boy, hesitating before he began to swing... Before the bat could even begin to pick up speed he hit the Cyclops with a godly amount of wind sending the monster flying back and into the middle of the battlefield, he then began to ascend higher and higher as pieces of earth began to swarm around him rotating along with the tornado. With a motion of his hands he sent the pieces of earth crashing down upon the monsters, then with another motion water began to form out of thin air and freeze into ice shooting towards the monsters and killing all who were hit. He then made a giant piece of earth come out of the ground and rotated it in a circle around him killing several more, then everything stopped for a moment as he began to plummet towards the ground with his foot raised. An axe kick hit the ground making a small crater and causing fire to erupt all around him like a gyser, then without a second to spare he planted both feet back on the ground and rotated 360° causing the wind to rotate all around dispersing the fire farther out from him. Then using the pieces of earth he broke off from his fall he used the wind to accelerate faster towards more of the monsters. Forming swords out of ice he began to cut through the crowd, each movement fluid and adaptable like water itself. Before anyone knew it, there were no more monsters left except the Cyclops, but he quickly began to settle that. Jumping high into the air and crashing down onto the Cyclops stomach the monster groaned in pain.

"Please, I'll do anything! Just spare me!" He yelled in fear, the boy didn't care however, as he began to finish what he started. Putting the two ice swords together he began to fuse them together, along with freezing more water he made appear from thin air, the sword began to grow the size of a football field. "No! Please!" The Cyclops yelled, the boy however didn't care as he jumped up and flipped the sword so it was facing downwards. He then came crashing down and stabbed the Cyclops in the stomach with the sword, piercing through him and deep into the ground below him. The Cyclops then faded into golden dust, and the boy landed safely on the ground passed out. I began to stand up and limp towards him, as everyone else began to circle around him.

"Who is he?" I heard some of the campers whisper to each other, murmuring all around. I began to push my way through as some began to approach him, pointing their swords at him. One of them, Jason grace, looked at him with curiosity.

"What are you?" He asked, his hand on his sword just in case.

"A monster, that's who he is, we should kill him." Octavian stated, pointing his sword firmly at him. More and more people began to agree while bearing arms against the still boy, Jason however looked unsure.

"How did you determine he's a monster?" Jason asked, still unsure about everything as I struggled to move through the crowd.

"Look at him! Those glowing white eyes and emotionless face! He just killed an entire battalion of monsters and he doesn't even care!" Octavian yelled, steadying his sword. "Plus he just controlled four elements on a godlike level! He made water appear out of thin air! Thin air!" Octavian yelled, others in the crowd agreeing. Jason however still looked unsure, and I thanked the gods for that. "Kill him jason!" Octavian yelled, Jason looked at the unconscious boy and hesitated. "Fine I'll do it." Octavian said, charging and swinging his sword down. I widened my eyes as I ran towards the boy, getting in front of Octavian's sword. Everyone in the crowd gasped as I caught the sword with my hands, blood leaking from the wounds.

"Annabeth!" Jason yelled, rushing over to me as Octavian glared at me. I let go of the sword and fell to one knee wincing in pain from my previous injury, Jason coming to my aid and wrapping my hands in torn cloth.

"Why would you do that chase?!" Octavian asked furiously, still holding his sword in a stance.

"Are you crazy?! You were about to kill him!" I shot back, still furious myself.

"Because he's a monster! Only a monster can have such power!" Octavian yelled, Jason Staying silent.

"He risked his life for me!" I yelled back, wincing a bit from the damage to my lungs.

"A charade!" He shot back. "He didn't even flinch when he faced hundreds of monsters! And didn't even care when he killed them all!" Octavian stated, in the crowd people began to murmur and whisper amongst each other.

"Because he was being controlled by something! When I first met him he couldn't even defend himself properly, he didn't even know how to hold a sword!" I argued back, standing up and getting in his face.

"Fine! We'll let Jason decide!" Octavian yelled, turning towards Jason. "Jason! What should we do with him?" Octavian asked, Jason remained sitting staring at the ground. He then looked at the boy, and then to me.

"Do you think we can trust him annabeth?" Jason asked, with a solemn look on his face. I nodded, and he smiled a bit. "Then we treat whatever wounds he has and welcome him into camp, once he wakes up we'll question him." Jason stated, making me smile. Octavian however, pouted and sheathed his sword.

"I think we're making a mistake." Octavian stated, walking away. And that made me wonder....

Was this a mistake?
