New Client

Making his way back down the stairs and out of the building he looked up at the sky, it was still early, other students had made their way onto campus and were already heading towards the new dorm houses that everyone was staying in.

Seeing one of his classmates make their way to the housing location, Aizawa leading the pack, he followed them. It seems that his meeting with Nezu had not delayed him too much.

Knowing that his involvement with the All for One fight was being kept a strict secret by the few that did know he was involved. Which were Bakugo, All Might and his detective friend, and Nezu. He was sure that more people had caught wind but he knew that it wasn't being freely spread.

As they all came to a stop Aizawa turned around and looked over the group. Whatever he was about to say came to a halt as he looked at Nick. "Hendrix, so nice of you to join us. I'm glad class is just as important to you as the rest of us…" His voice was as monotone as it normally was despite the clear sarcasm.

"I was talking to the principal about my recent stunt." His voice was not amused either as he and Aizawa stared at each other, the latter raised above the students on the steps putting them at almost eye level. A glare was shared over the heads of the class.

"That makes sense… if were up to me I would expel you right now. We will talk about this in a moment." His voice cut off as he realized that the rest of their class was still there, most of them looking back and forth in confusion apart from Bakugo.

As Midoriya and Shoto saw the reaction Bakugo was having to all of this, his clear lack of confusion he saw the dots become connected as both Midoriya and Shoto looked at him in shock.

"Back on topic. First thing's first, class 1-A. We couldn't be more glad that you're all safe and sound, back together again." His voice actually gained a hint of fondness as he looked over the class.

As the students happily chattered amongst each other about how they were all able to get permission. The talk between them extended to the teacher as Asui expressed her surprise that Aizawa had kept his job.

"I'm surprised too. Well… A lot's happened, kids. Now then, I'm going to give a brief explanation of how the dorm works.

"It's a class to each building. The right side is for the girls and the left is for the boys. The first floor is a co-ed space. The mess hall, baths, laundry stuff and like are here. Things that everyone will use." Aizawa explained as they all stepped inside the main room. Tables and couches make a comfortable living area directly connected to a large kitchen.

With the class excitedly running into the building without a shred of hesitation since none of them had gotten told of just beforehand the eager voices of the class were soon bouncing around every corner of the room as they all explored. Aizawa's explanation becoming background noise.

"The dorms are located on the second floor and up. Each ot those floors has four rooms for a total of five floors. Each individual room is outfitted with air conditioning, a toilet, a fridge and a closet. It's pretty luxurious."

With the final bit of the explanation as the rooming was explained. A drawn diagram and nameplates helped them know where they were all staying. It seems that the rooming had actually changed a bit, he was on the top floor. Not that he remembered the exact arrangement but he remembered there was a spare boy room on the top floor, that was now on the third one.

Not caring much about it he saw that his floormates were the problem kids… Shoto, Bakugo and Midoriya… all on one floor. Oh, joy.

"For the time being, go get all your stuff set in your rooms. I'll explain what we'll be doing next tomorrow. You're all dismissed." Aizawa said as they all started to eagerly make their way towards the stairs to go to their new rooms.

"Hendrix… come outside with me for a moment." His voice was stern. The rest of the class looked back at the duo as they left, wondering what it was about.

---

"If it were up to me I would expel you. But it isn't, Nezu and All Might have vouched for you to stay. But that doesn't mean that I approve of your actions… Although on the other hand. I am grateful that you interfered, if it wasn't for you then All Might might have lost to both All for One and the lady that showed up…" Sighing he sat down on one of the benches outside as he combed his hand back through his hair.

"So I am conflicted, as your teacher I am mad at you but as a man and someone that has seen your strength I understand. But it has brought a question to my mind. Is this school the right place for you?" His voice questioning.

Shocked by the unexpected question he looked at Aizawa as he thought over the man's words.

"Look, as I see it you don't need to be here. You have already fought toe-to-toe with All Might and you're only growing stronger. If you want to be a Hero then of course stay, but there are other ways to get a license to use your quirk." His voice was hesitant as he stood up.

Holding a card out he finished. "The Hero Public Safety Commission has shown interest in you." Was all he said, his voice clearly hesitant. "Hawks wants to speak to you, the number 3 pro Hero. For some reason." However, from the way he spoke, it seems that he already knew the answer.

"You're strong Hendrix, much stronger than kids your age should be, and you seem to just get stronger with every major fight, you fight like your life means nothing. Be careful, I had a friend that protected people as well… it cost him his life. Don't throw yours away so quickly… take your time." His voice was melancholy as he spoke.

Nodding as if he was planning on saying something more he just sighed and turned, walking away from the dorm rooms. Dismissing Nick.

Turning back to the dorms Nick sighed, making his way inside. That was too heavy of a conversation for him to have had. Looking at the card that only had a phone number on it he just pocketed it.

Just as he was about to walk inside the door opened and he was face to face with Bakugo. Stepping forward the teen closed the door behind him. His right arm was bandaged and there were some burns over the back of his hand. But apart from that he was fine.

"You get in trouble because of me?" Bakugo asked, somewhat politely as he stared at Nick.

"No, I got in trouble because I couldn't grab you the first time." His voice was bland…

Staring at each other, the duo didn't really know what to say.

"I have thought about what you said, maybe if I had relied on others I never would have been taken. As soon as the villain attack started I went to try and find someone to fight, ignoring the fact that being alone would be the worse thing for me." His voice was serious as he looked at Nick.

Standing there and staring for a few moments Nick just looked at him. Wondering what the fuck was going on right now.

"Don't expect and apology you bastard! I never asked for you to get involved!!" Bakugo suddenly yelled as his hands started to crackle with fire.

Clicking his tongue he turned and went to head inside.

"Good job mate." Nick suddenly said, looking at Bakugo as the boy turned around with a confused look on his face. "you took that 'extra's' other hand, right? Good job. Bastard deserved it, at the rate you're doing what I've done you might be able to follow in my footsteps." Nick said in a somewhat mocking tone, although there was no heat in his words. The first part was what mattered, the latter was just mandatory bickering between the two.

"Yeah right, you won't even be able to catch my shadow by the time we graduate." Bakugo said, although he wasn't welling, his face was still pissed through. But a slight smirk did curl onto the corner of his lips as he turned away and started to walk into the room.

Walking past him Nick just patted him on the shoulder on the way past. All the burns healing, and his sweat glands becoming a bit more 'active'.

---

Nick set up his room. A desk, chair and bed. Nothing else really, it was so boring it wasn't funny. There wasn't even a single piece of decoration.

Staying in his room the canon room examination started. Knowing it would happen Nick stayed in his room but when he felt the vibrations through the floor of the class looking into Midoriya's and then Todoroki's room skipping Bakugo he felt them approaching his door.

Since it would be easier to just let them see inside and then leave he sighed. It would be quicker that way, and it didn't do any harm after all.

Opening it he saw the charge led by Ashido and Kaminari. "Let us rate your room!" They both said at the same time. Ashido jumped up and down on the spot with a very impressive standing jump height.

"Yeah sure," he said in a dismissive tone as he stepped out of the way letting everyone inside.

"Oh… it's kind of plain… even more so than Ojiro's," Most of the class said as they started talking about it.

Standing next to him Kirishima said, "I expected something more manly."

Mezo also chimed in and saying, "This is unexpected. But I can understand it." His words approving.

"What? Something like this?" Nick said as he faced Kirishima, his quirk flowing into the floor using a mix of gigantification to create matter and overhaul he suddenly transformed the room into a training room. Weights a punching bag and everything.

"Or were you looking to relax?" His voice asked as he looked at the class and suddenly his room turned into a lounge. No bed since it wasn't needed just a big TV and some couches making max use of the room's floor plan once again.

"Or should we doing some gaming Kaminari?" he asked as suddenly the room had desks and computers.

"Why would I fill my room with things I don't need when I can just turn it into whatever I want." As he converted the room back to its 'blank canvas.'

"THAT IS SO COOL!" Multiple people said at once before suddenly being asked if he could change their rooms and make different flooring and walls for them. Smiling a bit he just shook his head a bit.

"Yeah sure, I can help out if people asked, but I am tired so I'm going to bed." He said as he ushered them towards the door.

"Wait don't you want to be part of the voting?" Ashido asked as she turned to him, clearly eager to get him to come and join them.

"I haven't even seen the other rooms." He said as he tilted his head to the side.

"We are still doing the girls room! So you can vote on them!" She said as she grabbed his hand suddenly. "Come on! Join in! Even Todoroki is, he has a super cool Traditional Japanese room."

Pulling his hand back he said, "Alright, sure." Not wanting to be a buzz kill.

The rest of the night went quickly as he looked at each of the girl's rooms. He wasn't so dense as to not notice Hagakure asking him what he thought of her room with some nervousness. He just told her he thought it was cute.

Seeing her he thought she would probably have not liked him after the start of the year. But then again, he had 'saved' her from being expelled by facing a teacher. No matter the reasons he had done it she saw it through her own eyes as something he did because it was 'unfair' as he said.

As he thought about this he for some reason thought of Nejire… she had trouble making friends at the start like him. Although for many different reasons.

Shaking his head he pushed the thoughts to the side. He had other things to focus on. Although even this hanging out with his classmates was kind of… nice. It was different from the constant training.

"Our first priority is to acquire provisional licenses," Aizawa said, the homeroom having just started. To be honest Nick was very happy with how easy it was getting to class in the morning, he had even done a morning run with Mezo and Eijiro.

"Hero licenses are a serious responsibility, they are directly concerned with matters of life and death. As such, the exam to receive qualification is very hard. Even the average yearly passing rate for just the provisional license exam is only about 50%" Aizawa continued. Pulling the class's attention with the seriousness of his tone.

"That is why, starting today, each one of you. Will be devising at least two new super moves!" He said a small smile on his face as he saw the class's excitement.

After getting to the gym they got the explanation as to why super-moves were important and some more details on what the exam would entail and after a quick pep talk from Aizawa they were ready to finish their summer break with a bang. 10 days... that was all they would need.

Getting divided up into their own small area's so that they could focus on themselves he looked around and saw both Shoto and Bakugo going at it hard already, it was clear that Bakugo was pumped but that wasn't what shocked Nick. Bakugo was talking to Ectoplasm instead of just using the clone as a punching bag.

Smiling a bit he turned to Todoroki and what he saw shocked him. The boy was meditating on the floor, his ice and fire gently swaying around his body as he was clearly getting a feel for the elements. It reminded Nick of something, what he had been doing during the forest training camp. He had focused on improving his control and now so was Todoroki.

Would it lead him to create phosphor sooner? Since Dabi was no longer in the equation, for now. He still had some thinking to do on that topic. But for now, he wasn't. He wouldn't have a reason to create the special move, but he could do so now while he was trying to fine-tune his control and get rid of his weakness.

Smiling a bit as he let out a satisfied 'hmph' he looked over to Midoriya, the boy already coated in his cowling although he was clearly deep in thought…

Turning away he got back to his own training. Focusing internally for a moment before activating overhaul. Calling over Cementoss he asked. "Can I contest with you over controlling concrete?" He hadn't been able to affect the ice of the 'ice queen.' Last time in the festival he had changed the element of the stage slightly so that he could beat down Bakugo without being interrupted.

"Sure, what shall we do?" His voice was curious. Soon he and Cementoss were trying to raise and lower the floor respectively. His control was good but Cementoss's years of experience in using the quirk were giving him an edge, but Nick was slowly winning.

He wanted it to be easy though, so he kept on pushing himself.

The Doctor had been called on a few more times since healing Ignium. He had healed a few heroes including Best Jeanist but most of his clients had been extremely wealthy individuals that wanted a disability removed, such as blindness or deafness.

It was trivially easy for him to fix such things once he found the cause of the problem, he also restored them to peak health and reinvigorated their youth to help word spread. And it had, fast. He had some people from overseas contracts for future appointments already, most of it was handled by Yomi but he had asked to be informed of asked appointments that were out of the ordinary before they were accepted.

Looking at the file this was one such one.

He had just healed someone who had become a quadriplegic after their quirk awakened and they used it like a fool. Their parents had paid for him, rich people throwing money to fix their son's problems so he can make them again.

He had taken a sample of the quirk but it wasn't that interesting, he just did it out of habit now. He might as well, you never know when something useful would come up.

Back to the topic at hand. The piece of paper in front of him. Someone by the name of Shiba Toshio, someone who had lost both of his arms in an 'incident.' One was petrified and broke off and was unable to be healed by any means.

Clearly seeing through the lie and knowing who this was Nick was going to decline it despite the impressive sum that was being offered, he didn't know where the money was coming from but he could figure it out later. Just as he was going to tell Yomi to decline it he stopped…

This was a chance. He wanted a warping quirk and the only one that he could get his hands on was Kurogiri's right now. If he could strike a deal then… then maybe.

He could get rid of Tomura and Kurogiri and get a base for making a warping quirk. He actually wanted to see if he could save Oboro, he didn't think that his knowledge was quite at the level to disassemble a Nomu but he would be soon trying to find Kyudai, he wanted a mind-reading quirk before then though. Just something so he could download the man's intelligence.

If he couldn't find one though then he could just turn him into a head and keep him compressed and locked away when he didn't need him.

Walking the backroom that was behind the counter he walked through the wall as he showed Yomi the paper he was holding. "I will handle this case personally. Do not worry about it. Keep up the good work Yomi… I might have another opportunity for you soon." His voice was raspy and coming from multiple directions.

Smiling up at him Yomi said, "Thank you, sir, I am glad that I have not let you down. Thank you once more for this opportunity." The genuine smile that he showed when he looked at The Doctor shone on his face.

Seeing the smile of Yomi Nick couldn't help but feel happy, he never expected someone to regard him so highly for just providing a job and basic needs but both Yu and Yomi had done nothing but admire him for doing such things.

Nodding his head he left the room with the paper in hand, he was going to contact them as Andrew.

He needed to do this right, this wasn't an opportunity that would come again.

Sorry for missing a chapter yesterday, I was super busy, I would say I will try to do a double release some time this week to make up for it but I don't think I will have time sadly. Thanks for all the support!

Let me know what you guys think about Nick going a different route to being a hero such as the Hero safety commission or something else. I am interested to hear your thoughts on it. He will be taking some time of from U.A. when he finds out more about these communities to look for some of them.

Thanks for all the support so far! Let me know how I am doing, comments and reviews are always welcome!
