Ark One, Part Fourteen
(Third Person POV)
"Still nothing?" King asked with an annoyed tone.
"Nope!" Crow replied with an equally annoyed tone. "My instincts aren't telling me shit!"
The two Lunarians had been walking in circles within the Forest of Estride for hours, and so far, they hadn't found the portal that Olga and Celestine were talking about.
"Fucking hell," King let out a frustrated sigh. "At this rate, we'll be here for fucking days."
"Yeah fuck that. Ain't no way I'm staying in this damn forest for several days straight," Crow flared his wings. "I'm getting my fucking magic resistance today."
He was about to take flight, but King placed his hand on the teen's shoulder.
Crow was about to give him a confused look but stopped when he saw King's facial expression and finger point to the northwest of the forest.
"Look," King said with a voice of awe.
Doing what the older Lunarian said, Crow looked where he was pointing, and his eyes widened at what he saw.
"Is...Is that a fucking Unicorn..." Crow said with disbelief in his tone.
"Uh-uh," King replied.
Approximately twenty-six meters away from them was the legendary creature.
It had large golden eyes, its body coloration was as white as snow, its mane and tail were silver-white, and its horn was three feet long. Its body was above four meters in length, stood at five meters in height, and had a powerful yet lean build.
The legendary creature was looking directly at the duo, standing perfectly still, but after a moment of staring at the Lunarians, it slowly walked towards them.
"Holy shit, it's walking toward us..." Crow said in an excited tone.
"I know..." King replied, amused by his clansmen's enthusiastic attitude.
"I wonder if it'll let us pet it!---what if we brought it home?!" Crow said happily, already imagining the looks on everyone's faces. "What if there's more of them?! If there were, then we could take them and breed them!!"
King looked at Crow with an amused look but did give what the teen said some thought.
"That would certainly be interesting..." King thought voice loudly.
If there were more Unicorns, and they proved valuable in any way, especially combat-wise, then he was sure Kaido wouldn't mind having them as battle mounts for the Beast Pirates.
He guessed they'd have to wait and see how things turn out before they get ahead of themselves.
The legendary creature was now within petting distance, so Crow slowly held out his hand to ensure he didn't spook the animal.
The Unicorn momentarily looked at the young Lunarian before pressing its snout onto the teen's hand.
"Woah..." Crow said in awe and let out a small laugh of joy. "This is fucking awesome..."
King slowly pulled out his hand and touched the unicorn's face.
"Its coat is very soft," King said in surprise.
"I know, right!!!"
After pampering the Unicorn for a while, the mythical creature backed away and turned around. It walked several meters away before stopping and turning to look at the Lunarians expectantly.
"I think it wants us to follow it," King concluded.
"Well then, let's not keep it waiting," the teen replied. The Lunarians followed the Unicorn. They reached their destination after five minutes. "Holy shit, it brought us to the portal!" Crow gave the Unicorn an appreciative head pat, much to its delight. "Thanks for the help, big guy!"
The mythical creature released a happy neigh and leaned further into the Lunarian's touch.
King looked at the sight with amusement. "It seems to have really taken a shine to you."
"Well, of course it would. I'm just that awesome."
King rolled his eyes at the teen's comment and turned his attention toward the portal.
"You better wrap it up. We only have a few minutes until the portal disappears," King reminded Crow, and the Lunarian teen nodded in agreement.
After a few more head pats, the teen pulled back his hand, and they both headed inside the portal. Crow was the first to enter, and everything went black once he was fully inside the portal.
(Time skip: Unknown Amount Of Time)
When the teen opened his eyes, everything was blurry, and after a few seconds, he felt his head pounding and slightly nauseous, but he ignored them and took in his surroundings when his vision cleared and was confused as fuck.
Crow was on the coast of a tropical island, and not so far from him was a decently sized wooden cabin.
Multiple questions ran through his head, with the main ones being where the fuck were they, was there something wrong with the portal, were they accidentally misinformed, and why did this place feel so familiar?
It was like he's been here before...
Lightly shaking his head, the teen went to wake up King but quickly realized he wasn't there. Keeping calm, he attempted to find him with Observation Haki, but it wasn't working for some reason.
After several more failed attempts to use his abilities, the Lunarian decided to look for the man the old-fashioned way and got off his ass to look for him.
He headed toward the cabin to see if anyone was living there. As Crow was about to step onto the porch, the door opened, revealing two figures with blurred facial features, making the teen frown.
'What the fuck?' Crow thought, wondering why their faces were blurred.
Nonetheless, he took in the rest of their appearances that he could see.
The first person was a muscular man who stood exactly nine feet tall. He had thick black hair, tan skin, and a curved mustache. The man wore a long red captain's coat. Beneath his coat, he wore a blue shirt with a yellow sash around his waist. He wore a white cravat around his neck, dark blue pants, and what appeared to be black sea boots.
Then his gaze turned to the other figure, and his breath hitched when he looked at their appearance.
The second person was a woman who stood at six feet six inches. Her hair, skin, and wing coloration were precisely like his features. She was wearing a long red sun dress and a pair of scandels.
And currently, she's holding a baby that looks suspiciously like him...
Could it possibly be?...
No, it was just a coincidence.
"Orchidéa, my dear, the doctor said you should be resting," said the man in a concerned tone.
The woman sighed.
"I'm fine, my love. If I couldn't handle a bit of pain, then I wouldn't be a true Lunarian," the woman argued. "Besides, I've been stuck inside for days and needed to get some fresh air, or otherwise, I would've gone insane," both adults then looked down when the infant in the woman's arms began to giggle, making the woman coo. "Good morning, Typhon~ Did you sleep well, my little dragon?~" the woman asked in a cutesy voice.
The baby just giggled and babbled in response, making the female Lunarian squeal.
The man sighed, giving up on convincing his lover to go back inside the cabin.
The faceless man looked in the baby's direction and chuckled softly.
"Still can't believe we made a kid..." the man said joyfully.
The man caressed the baby's cheek with his finger, making the baby giggle and grab the man's finger.
"I know...it feels so surreal. I never thought I'd fall in love, much less end up having a child, but here we are," the woman said with a tone filled with warmth and love. "If this is a dream, I hope we never wake up..."
The surrounding area changed, and he was now on a dock with a massive ship beside it.
The woman and another individual were present within the setting.
It was a slender woman who stood at five feet eight inches. She had wavy pink-blonde hair. She wore a pink hibiscus flower in her hair on the left side of her head and had freckles on her face. She also wore a long, short-sleeved, light blue dress that reached down to her feet and sandals.
Orchidéa was kneeling, hugging a two to three-year-old Lunarian.
"I'm sorry I couldn't stay longer, my dragon," said Crow's mother with a tone of great sadness and devastation. "But the longer I stay, the more danger you'll be in," she reluctantly broke the hug and kissed his head.
"Will I ever see you again?" The child asked with a shaky tone.
"I hope so...but just in case, I don't return. I want you to know I love you so much and that you were the best thing ever to have happened to your father and me...you were the light that I needed to my overwhelming darkness and what made all the pain I suffered throughout my life worth it. You're the future and hope of our family and the Lunarian and D clan. Grow strong and be the man I know you can be one day."
"I...I don't know if I can, Mommy...what if I fail...what if I--" The boy was quickly interrupted by his mother.
"You won't fail," she said kindly yet sternly. "I saw it in a vision. One day, you will bring our people back to glory and make them stronger than ever before. Family, friends, and smallfolk will love you. And your enemies will either submit to your will or die a grizzly death. You were the one that was promised. Do you understand?" The boy slowly nodded. "Good," she looked at the blonde woman. "Take care of him for me."
"I will...goodbye, old friend," she hugged Orchidéa.
"Goodbye, and I'm sorry I won't be there for your child's birth..."
"Don't be, I understand," the blonde said.
With that said, the Orchidéa walked up the ramp to her ship but stopped to look at her little boy one last time.
"I love you, my dragon..."
"I-I love you too, Mommy..."
The Lunarian woman then looked at the Blonde.
"Goodbye, old friend..."
"Goodbye..."
The woman looked at the child one last time before reluctantly turning around and heading up to her ship.
The scene then changed to darkness. Nothing stood until the young Lunarian saw a bright light several meters away.
Crow walked toward the light, and once he reached it, he found himself at a beautiful lake.
"CROW!" the teen snapped toward the right and saw King approaching him.
"King!" he ran up to the older Lunarian. "You alright?"
The man nodded.
"Yeah, I'm alright. You?"
"Uh-uh, but the strangest thing happened when we went through the portal."
"What happened?" King looked at him curiously and with concern.
The teen explained everything to the All-Star, and his blood went cold.
His gaze snapped to the teen.
"So, you think they're your parents?"
"I have no idea. I wasn't able to get a good look at their face as they were blurry as shit. But I was able to see everything else," when he described his parent's appearance and told him the woman's name, the older Lunarian internally grimaced as he knew who they were. "...if they are my parents, then my name might be Typhon..." the teen revealed with a slight smile but lightly frowned.
He wanted to believe everything he saw may have been a coincidence, but something deep inside him knew that those people he saw were his parents.
And if that is the case, where and who were they? And did his possible mom mean that he was the chosen one?
Crow internally sighed and shook his head.
He could think about this stuff later.
"I see...so Typhon, huh?" King mused out loud, subtly changing topics. "It suits you," the older man smiled.
"Yeah...I think so, too," the teen grinned.
Once all this business with Vult and the demons is over, he's making learning more about his past and finding his family a top priority.
The duo then turned towards the lake.
"Well, I'll be damned," King chuckled. "Guess there are more Unicorns," he gestured toward the other side of the lake.
Crow saw what King was pointing at and grinned like a madman.
On the other side of the lake was a large herd of Unicorns of various colors.
"Holy shit!! Looks like we're gonna be taking some of them home!" the teen chuckled madly, earning a look of concern from King.
"You ok there?"
"Yeah..." the teen calmed down. "Just excited...anyways, time to drink from this bitch," the teen got on one knee and drank from the lake.
The teen felt a sensation in his body, but after a few seconds, the feeling disappeared.
"How do you feel?" King asked, smiling down at the teen.
"I feel Great," Crow grinned and clenched his fists. "Now, let's grab those Unicorns."
It took the duo a while, but they managed to round up a dozen horses. They then found a portal and made their way out.
"Who would've thought these fuckers would be aggressive," King grumbled, making Crow chuckle.
"Never judge a book by its cover," Crow commented with an amused tone, making King roll his eyes.
"Whatever.."
"Hey, don't be salty just because these guys love me more," Crow teased, earning him a middle finger from the older Lunarian.
"Fuck off," he said, barely being able to contain a smile. "Can I ask you something?" his tone was filled with apprehension, making the teen look at him strangely.
"Of course."
"...how...how do you feel about--fuck this harder than I thought," King sighed with frustration. "How would you feel about me adopting you?" he asked, getting straight to the point.
The teen stopped in his tracks and looked at the older man with shock.
"W-What?" Crow stammered.
"You heard me," he looked at the teen with a strained smile. "I know it's odd, and you're nearly an adult and about to be a father---" A hug from Crow cut him off.
"I'd be honored," Crow said with a joyful tone.
After the surprise of being hugged and settled in, King smiled and hugged the teen back.
End.
