Chapter 36: Meeting some Shandians
'This is bad…what if Enel finds me.'
She wasn't that worried about the other priest. She was confident that at the very least, she could get away from them. But Enel was a different story.
Not only was his ability incredibly powerful but it was also a tremendous counter to hers.
If Luffy's ability can counter Enel's then Enel's was her counter. No matter what she tried, it would be impossible not to get electrocuted by him.
But there was no point in panicking about things she had no control over.
She was a bit worried about Nami and the rest. There was a good chance that Enel will visit their ship.
'They should be fine. Enel never attacked Nami, as for Sanji and Usopp, well, they are a lot tougher than they look. Also, Chopper left the whistle to Nami this time so she can call Gan Fall for help.'
She wasn't sure if she was going the right way but after walking for some good ten minutes she started to hear the sounds of battle.
Vivi started running towards the sounds and spotted a group of Shandians fighting some of Enel's followers, the divine soldiers.
There were only three Shandiands, two males and one female against more than ten soldiers.
'I should help them. If I remember correctly they were going to the Golden Ruins. I can follow them there.'
The three Shandians were overwhelmed by the divine soldiers. Every soldier was armed with axe dials but those were no danger to her.
She jumped into action and took advantage of the element of surprise.
She extended her right arm until it made contact with one of the soldiers.
"Impacto!"
The soldier was knocked out cold in an instant.
"Shit!, there is another Shandian here!" One of the soldiers warned.
Five soldiers charged Vivi. Compared to Shura they were truly garbage. They left themselves completely open every time they try to attack her and didn't even realize that their dial was doing no damage to her.
It only took her a couple of minutes to get rid of them. She did however collect all of their dials and store them in her bag. She also took the devices they had on their feet.
'Usopp will definitely be interested in these.'
Vivi looked at the Shandians as they took care of the rest of the soldiers now that the numbers were more even.
The female one seemed to be the one in charge. She approached Vivi with care.
"Who are you? And did you help us?"
"My name is Vivi. I and my crew came from the blue sea."
"Blue sea…yes, I heard from Kamakiri that He encounter some people at the white sea. What are your intentions?" She asked.
'Apparently to steal your gold…but I should come up with something better '
"We just came here to explore the Sky Island but were almost immediately attacked by this God Enel and his priests. Our Captain came to this island to teach him a lesson."
"Teach a lesson to God Enel?, no offense but your Captain is out of his mind." The Shandian said.
"You have no idea….do you mind if I tag along? I'm a bit lost a the moment."
The girl nodded.
"That's fine, you shouldn't travel alone anyways. Oh, I almost forgot, I'm Laki, the other two are Reg and Viran."
The two men didn't seem very happy about having Vivi come along but didn't say anything.
"Well, nice to meet you." Vivi smiled at them anyways.
Laki looked at Vivi's feet.
"Oh? that's right, you don't have shooters. Will you be able to keep up?"
'Shooters?, ah…that must be the name of those weird skates. I do have some but don't know how to use them…nevermind.'
"Don't worry about me. I have my ways. I won't slow you down."
Laki nodded and they all moved away.
"Water jet!" Her legs transformed into a torrent of water and propel her away.
'I have never used this for long distance travel, so I guess this is a good chance to practice.'

They moved for a while. Laki keep looking behind, at Vivi to make sure that she was still there.
Vivi could not help but smile. 'Is she worried about me? how cute…wait what am thinking!. Focus Vivi!'
"Kamariki!" Laki yelled.
Vivi regained her wits and looked at what was happening. There was an injured man on the ground. Laki and the other two came to his side.
She stopped a bit behind them, not wanting to interrupt them.
"Go Laki!, leave me here." The man said.
"What are you saying? We need to get you to the healer." Said Laki.
"You need to go warn Wiper. Tell him that God Enel is not at the shrine. Yo-You need to t-t-ell him" Kamakiri seemed to be too weak to even talk.
"Save your strength!" Begged Laki.
"T-tell him to not fight Enel! That man is invincible…He may really be a God…please…" Kamakiri lost consciousness after that.
'It must have taken everything out of him just to say those few words in his state.' Vivi looked at the fallen Shandian warriors with respect.
Laki turned to the other two Shandians.
"You two! Take Kamakiri back to the village. I'll deliver the message to Wiper."
"You are going to go alone? is too dangerous!" One of them said.
Laki looked at Vivi. "I'm not alone, she is with me."
"Are you really going to trust this foreigner?"
"My instincts tell me that she can be trusted and they had never failed me before. Enough of this!. Do what I say!" Laki commanded in a tone that left no more room for arguing.
The two of them nodded and carried Kamariki away.
"We must hurry. I fear that Wiper will do something reckless" Said Laki.
Vivi agreed. "Lead the way."
