Chapter 34: Bonfire

When Vivi opened her eyes, she found herself on her bed. The room was dark, with only a small candle as a source of light.

After suffering from brief disorientation, memories of her fight with Shura resurfaced in her mind.

"Did we win?...the last thing I remember was…" She gasped "Chopper!"

She stood up from the bed and rushed out of her room. She could hear the sounds of people talking and singing outside.

The sky was dark but she could see the light of a fire next to the lake.

By turning her legs into a water jet she was able to effortlessly fly over the lake and land on the shore.

She could now clearly hear the voices of her friends. And as soon as she approached more, she could spot the figure of Chopper, happily eating and chatting away.

Vivi could not help but smile as a huge weight had been lifted off her.

"I'm so glad he's fine."

Her crewmates must have heard her voice because they all turned around and looked at her in shock.

"Vivi!, you are awake already?!" Said Nami.

"See?, I told you she was going to be fine!" Luffy smiled.

She smiled at them.

"I'm so happy to see you all again!." She then went to Chopper.

"How is your injure?, for a moment, I thought…"

"It wasn't as bad as it looked. The spear didn't hit any vital organs and the heat from the flame dial cauterized the wound as it came out." Chopper then looked at her bandages.

Vivi also looked down and just noticed that her arms were completely bandaged.

"I'm more worried about your wounds." Said Chopper.

"He's right. When we found you, you were in pretty bad shape. And that's a lot coming from me." Commented Zoro.

"I'm the one that did your bandages since Chopper wasn't able yet. Your hands were completely destroyed. We were not expecting you to wake up for a few days at least." Explained Robin.

Vivi was surprised.

'My wounds were that bad?... I can't remember the end of the fight or how I got that injured.'

"Well, I don't know about that. I don't feel any pain at all. I'm actually feeling great!"

She took hold of the bandages on her hand and ripped them off.

Chopper was alarmed. "Wait!, is too son to-"

He stopped talking when He saw Vivi's hands. They look perfectly fine and her skin didn't have a single imperfection.

"See?. I told you I was fine." Said Vivi while moving her fingers around to demonstrate.

"That is impossible. I already knew you were able to heal fast…but this is ridiculous." Chopper was in disbelief.

"Could it be a side effect of her devil fruit?" Asked Sanji.

"I don't think so." The eyes turned to Robin. "The Princess was already demonstrating a very fast ability to heal in Arabasta, right?" She gave Vivi a knowing look.

"I suppose it's true. But even if you ask me, I don't know where this ability comes from…" She wasn't completely lying. She had her suspicions that this may be something she got after arriving in this world. Maybe it was something given by whoever sent her soul to this place. But she still has no definite answers.

"Well, that seems like a great ability to have. I wish I had that during grampas training." Luffy chuckled.

Vivi took a seat next to Nami and grabbed something to eat. She was truly starving at this point.

"Enough about me. What did you guys do?"

Luffy, Sanji, and Usopp told her about Enel forcing the citizens to bring any criminal to Upper Yard and about their fight with one of the priests.

Nami then showed her a map of Jaya next to the one of Skypiea and explained how the two islands were once a single piece of land that was separated somehow before Norland came back with the King.

Vivi had to make use of her best acting skills to pretend to be surprised at the grand revelation.

Nami then pointed at one place on the map.

"According to Norland, the Golden City would be in the eye of the skull. That would be here."

Once the two maps were together, the complete island did have the shape of a skull and the treasure was supposed to be in the right eye of the skull.

"There is no doubt. There is a huge pile of gold waiting for us there!" Said Nami with the usual enthusiasm that was only shown when money was involved.

"Alright!. Let's celebrate Vivi's recovery!. Sanji, more meat!" Yelled Luffy.

"Idiot!, you have been celebrating for two hours. And we are almost out of meat." Said an angry Sanji.

He then approached Vivi.

"But if my Princess wants to eat more I will hunt down some beats for you!"

Vivi chuckled at his antics.

"That's very kind, but I'm fine with this. And is best if we stay together."

"She is right. Don't go wandering around the forest at night!" Said Nami.

While the party continued, Vivi sat down next to Chopper, there was something she wanted to know.

"Say Chopper."

He looked at her. "Yes?"

"How was Shura defeated?, because I don't remember the end of the fight."

"You don't remember?"

Vivi nodded. "The last thing I recall was You getting hurt…then I got very angry…and that's it."

"I could not see everything because I was still tied up with those strings. But from what I saw, You were really amazing. You started to punch him over and over, and then you hit him with this huge stream of water and He fell into the lake. You completely destroyed him!"

'Yeah…I don't remember any of that. But at least I'm sure of one thing. This was different that the time with Crocodile…that disgusting sensation that I got when someone else was using my body…I felt nothing like that this time. I just seemed to have lost control of myself.'

She examined her hands.

'I punched him over and over, that must be why my hands were so destroyed. At least I was able to find one thing…there is a lot of power in me, I just need to learn how to harness it.'

"Oh, I almost forgot!" Chopper took out something from his pocket.

"I was saving this for you."

He gave her the impact dial that she lost during the fight.

"Thanks, Chopper. I will need this again."
