Chapter 123: Impossible & Nonsensical II

...........

From Viola's pocket flew a little crow, a very tiny one, just created by Yovan recently, "You did well, Misfortune." It was Misfortune that kept an eye on Viola, stopping her from saying too much to Kizaru.

"I-Is this a joke to you?" Viola asked in resignation.

"No, I simply had no choice but to destroy the Colosseum as quickly as possible, and some of the spectators couldn't escape," Yovan responded, calmly so, "They just shouldn't have been there."

"You..." Viola didn't know what to say.

"The alternative would be the destruction of the entire Dressrosa either by my hands or Doflamingo's hands if I didn't meet you, if we didn't conclude our deal." Yovan further explained, being very patient.

He has not much interest in killing unnecessarily unless curiosity or wildness overwhelms him. In Dressrosa's case, it was necessity that forced him to cause the death of many.

"You are looking for perfection, but I'm a very flawed individual... We all are, just like you. I'd say we fit quite well, so welcome to the crew." Yovan finally smiled.

He knows her well. They exchanged memories after all, and he had seen more than she did. She also knows him enough. That and her ability allowed her to see a few things.

While she would need a few complex actions to look into his memories, knowing if he was lying was something she can always do... He wasn't lying.

"She can not be trusted," Kalifa interjected.

"I know," Yovan nodded, "That's why misfortune will keep an eye on her." They didn't have a problem having the conversation in front of her, more so a warning.

"Now, let's head to the North Blue." Yovan decided on their next target.

"Oh, why?" Kalifa asked, kind of hoping he'd just not say anything so she can 'punish' him again.

"Hehe," Yovan turned his attention to Bege, the latter bringing a strange fruit out of his fortress body, a colorful fruit resembling apples that have spots of a different color on it, and those spots have another spot inside each of them.

"A Devil Fruit?" Kalifa questioned.

"No, an artificial Devil Fruit," Viola was the one to answer, not surprised that Yovan would have the fruit. In fact, she was certain he must've ransacked all of Doflamingo's wealth.

"They're called SMILEs, artificial Zoan Devil Fruits created with some kind of solution I don't know much about," She glanced at Yovan, continuing, "They were monopolized and consumed by the Beast pirates, so you just made one of the Four Emperors your enemy."

"Oh, Kaido," Yovan stroked his chin before letting out a shrug, "I was planning to see him soon anyway, but for now, I have a meeting with the Vinsmoke Family."

And all they have to do to reach the North Blue was pass through the Calm Belt, a dangerous place for most, just not for the Strangers.

So ignoring what he had just said about Kaido, they set out toward the North Blue.

"Nonsense!!!" Kaido, on the other hand, couldn't ignore the news, "You think him becoming a Warlord would stop us!!? Find him and get him to me now!!!!"

The Smile Factory turned out to be very important for Kaido, "And those fake self-imposed Gods! I wanted them here, kneeling for forgiveness."

He was mad at both the Pantheon and Yovan. The Pantheon for destroying the factory, and Yovan for killing Doflamingo, the one responsible for running the factory.

If Doflamingo still existed, he would surely be able to build another factory. He can afford to do it, but he exists no more.

The actions of the Pantheon and Yovan reached the entire world, including his new stature as a Warlord Of the Sea. Despite Morgans going into hiding, his news empire is still very much working perfectly.

However, some details were missing, such as the emerald blade and flames, minuscule information but very important ones, allowing Hades' true identity to stay hidden.

"Impossible..." On the other side of the world, in Paradise, someone couldn't help but murmur at the news of Yovan becoming a Warlord.

"Robin?" Someone wondered, noticing her peculiar words.

Nico Robin, the Devil Child. She had joined the Straw Hats long ago, and now she was indeed on their ship, a relatively small ship. She was comfortably lying on a lounge chair with a newspaper in her hands.

"The Stranger became one of the Warlords of the Sea," Zoro's ears perked up at Robin's response to one of her crewmates, Nami.

"Why is that impossible?" Nami questioned.

"Because of the Fall Massacre, and all the shame and chaos that brought them... I don't understand." Robin frowned, feeling a headache, especially knowing the danger of Yovan, well, she knows a tiny bit.

"Aren't all the other Warlords just pirates also?" Usopp asked, not quite understanding.

"You don't understand what he had done... He exterminated most of the CP9... That's not something easily forgiven, especially as the Marines would look like a joke now because of his new Warlord stature." Robin added.

"Isn't it just because they have a common enemy? They say in the newspaper here that one of his crewmates has been killed by the Pantheon." Sanji pointed out.

"I don't feel like that's enough, especially..." Whatever she wanted to say came to a halt as she discreetly side-glanced at one of their newest members, Franky, "Nevermind." She added.

She knows something, but she couldn't say it. She is perhaps the only person in the world that came to a certain conclusion, mainly because she knows more than the rest, 'He definitely has some relation with the Pantheon.' She was certain.

The newspaper omitted everything about Enyo and its emerald flames, so she wasn't sure, but she was certain about another thing, Yovan is in coalition with the Pantheon.

She remembers very clearly his meeting with Crocodile, and how much the latter's interest switched after which. She had also read that Apollo from the Pantheon had saved Crocodile after he was apprehended.

The subject of Yovan Night was talked about a lot in the Straw Hats, and Franky mentioned that the Stranger's infamous ship, Seizon No Hono was built in Water 7.

The Stranger's visit to Water 7 also strangely coincided with a tragic incident that fell upon Franky, something he didn't mind sharing with them, the taking of the Blueprints of Pluton.

If that wasn't enough, the information about the Fall Massacre clearly detailed that Yovan faced the agents of the World Government there, specifically the Cipher Pol.

She put things together and made a few theories regarding what really happened, so it was a wonder to her why the World Government would appoint him a Warlord.

"Kraaa!! Kraa!" She was shaken from her place by the sound of cawing, crows' caws. She seemed so startled that it confused the crew.

"Mhsjnkjmmcrmmmwm," Luffy pointed out while trying to devour a large piece of meat.

"Just crows," Nami pointed out, eyeing a few crows that stood on the highest point of the ship.

"Y-yeah, I was just surprised," Robin said as calmly as possible, eyeing the dark seemingly innocent crows. They visit the ship quite often. In fact, they're seemed to be a resurgence of crows as of late.

She eyed their dark eyes as their eyes sometimes met, driving a chill down her spine. It's been a long while since she started feeling like she was being watched.

She was almost sure it isn't just paranoia, especially when the visits of the crows mostly coincide with the arrival of newspapers such as these, or when important subjects are brought up.

It felt almost like a warning... Stop. The Pantheon was watching her, Robin was certain, but she didn't know what to do.

Will getting rid of the crows attract the ire of the Pantheon? Will that even solve the problem? What do they want from her? Are her guesses true, thus why they want to keep her silent?

And so many more questions were always on her mind, sometimes driving her mad.

There was indeed a resurgence of crows in paradise. They pretty much had an easy ride in New World with Bege and Yovan's help, surprisingly so.

Then again, the Marines' influence in New World is much more limited than in Paradise.

The resurgence of crows was of course noticed by the Marines, and they also noted the reconstruction of nest crows around which people can make wishes.

So they quickly got to work and started exterminating them again... There was, however, an issue, something different this time.

In every nest, there is a special crow, a different crow that isn't truly alive... It was none other than Sunny, left with the responsibility of protecting the nests.

Yovan's power of Everless crows has grown to a certain extent that he can minimally program the artificial crows to act in a certain way, example being a self-detonation of the condensed sphere of Golden Flames in each one.

Every Sunny had such a sphere within, and their job is to take as many Marine lives as possible, making exterminating them just not worth it... Unless exceptionally powerful Marines are sent of course.

The Everless crows were evolving with the promise of someday achieving something so impossible and nonsensical they could break the laws of the world...
