Training till death

[Previously on Drag- *ahem.... One Piece -Escanor]

Escanor and Robin left on an adventure on the sea. They have already said goodbye to everyone on Ohara. Escanor bid farewell to everyone except Olvia who wasn't present when they were leaving.

[Presently somewhere in East Blue]

Escanor was on the deck of the ship. Enjoying the wave of wind. Feeling the calm sensation passing through his skin, he felt alive. Just when he was enjoying it he heard a *thud* coming from the cabin of the ship. Although he called it a ship it was a caravel similar to Going Merry.

(Escanor pov)

As I was enjoying the breeze on the deck I heard a loud *thud coming from the cabin. I immediately rushed toward the cabin to check what it was. To my absolute surprise, it was none other than Olvia, Robin's mother. Her face was planted on the ground. I sighed as I was rubbing my temples and asked her

"What are you doing here miss Olvia?" She stood up and looked at me like I was an idiot and answered

"Isn't it obvious? How could I leave my daughter to tread on this sea alone?! Although I have left her alone once and I might be a hypocrite to say this but I don't want to be away from my daughter!"

"haahh whatever it's not like we can turn back now"

She then left without saying anything.

Robin who was eavesdropping was giggling to herself. She looked happy for some reason. No one knew what she was thinking at the moment. But one thing was for sure, she was excited to go on an adventure with her mother and her friend.

--------1 week later----------

It's been more than 1 week since we started our journey. Nothing significant occurred. We stopped on an island a few days ago. It was a normal village. We ate in a restaurant and robin as usual bought some new books to read.

As we were sailing away, I saw an island covered with mist. I couldn't see anything except the tall trees. They were really tall looking like a skyscraper! As we got close to the island Robin and Olvia also noticed something. Loud noises, almost sounded like insects!

But it was too loud as we were still far away from the Island for us to hear it.

' Interesting! This island was never mentioned in the canon as far as I remember. This type of island shouldn't be in East blue, this island feels dangerous. Dangerous for others, not me! Hmm, should I take them with me or should I leave them on the ship? Leaving them alone sounds like a bad idea. Let's take them along.'

"We're going to visit that island. Any objections?"

"No" ×2

"Okay, let's drop the anchor when we are close enough!"

We reached near the island in a few minutes. We anchored our ship a bit far away from the island.

"How will we get on the island if we anchor our ship here?" Robin questioned.

I looked at both Olvia and Robin "Come here" I gestured for them to come near me.

"Hold on tight!" Before they could question I held them in my arms and jumped toward the island. 'Oops! I may have underestimated the power I applied'

"Aaaaaahhhhhh!!!" Both Robin and Olvia were screaming on top of their lungs. But in a few seconds, Robin's scream turned into laughter "Haha hehe" Looks like she's enjoying it. But Olvia was still a bit scared. 'Oh, we're about to land now! Gotta make it perfect!'

As I said that I landed perfectly, not a superhero landing but still quite good. I let both of them down.

Olvia was panting looking like she saw a ghost and Robin was still giggling. Both of them looked adorable in their own way.

"It looks like we landed on the other side of the island"

Olvia looked pissed at that statement. Robin? well, robin was busy looking around.

"Mom look! The trees and plants here are gigantic. They look so majestic. Wwooww! I've never seen such big plants and trees!" Robin said excitedly.

Olvia was warily looking around. Looks like she sensed something. After traveling for so long one's senses become polished and one can sense danger to some extent. " I don't have a good feeling about this is-"

Just when she was about to finish her sentence a loud buzzing noise was heard. It got louder and louder as seconds passed. It was like a blur coming toward us. They couldn't see what it was but I could.

'Damn that's a huge Mosquito!'

It was in front of us in a second. A loud clap was heard throughout the forest. They didn't know what happened, one second they heard a buzzing sound, and in another, they heard a clap. Blood sprayed all around us.

Olvia almost puked and Robin? well, she was on the ground rainbow coming out of her mouth.

Olvia helped her daughter immediately. After they finished Olvia turned towards me " W- What in the devil's name was that??!!!" I could see that she was terrified. I tried to calm her down but she wouldn't.

"*sigh..... It was a Mosquito"

"Mosquito??... " she was speechless

"Yeah, a mosquito and a hu- ..... ugh not again!"

As I said they looked at me as if asking 'What?!'.

As they were about to ask something, I instantly appeared behind them and caught something in my hand. It was huge! It was as huge as a Sea king except it was not an oversized snake fish but an absurdly large centipede.

'Uugghh I hate centipedes.'

I instantly crushed it. Not before my crewmate could see them. Their eyes bulged, they looked terrified!

"Now did you see what it was?"

They nodded their head like chickens.

' hmm... They're pretty weak right now. They can't even swat a bug. And killing bugs sounds like a great starting point. Except the bugs are humongous. Besides we are not in a hurry! It's the year 1503 and we still have around 2 years. Let's see, should we stay here for 2 months? Well, let's stay here until they get strong enough to survive on this island alone' as I was deeply in my thoughts, someone pulled my shirt. I looked down and I saw both of them holding my shirt tightly with teary eyes. They looked adorable though!

"Escanor let's get out from here!! please!" ×2

They both looked up at me. Waiting for my answer.

"No!" But contrary to their expectations I denied.

"We will stay here from now on until you guys become strong enough to survive alone on this island!"

Gobsmacked! Utterly astonished! Was an understatement. They literally broke down to pieces.

'Oh, I didn't know that could happen. Could it be One piece world logic? But looked funny hehe'

After recovering from the damage they received. They sat on their knees accepting their fate. 'Haah Robin is one thing but why is she acting like a child'

"Don't worry I will protect you both if anything serious happened," I reassured them but looked dejected nonetheless.

" Olvia, if you want to protect your daughter from the world then you have to get strong!

Robin, If you want to roam the world free, explore new places, read new books or Read poneglyphs without anyone getting in your way then you have to become strong!"

They quickly went through 5 stages of grief and finally accepted. They had a determined look on their face.

"So how will you train us? Will you teach us some techniques or something like that?" Olvia questioned after accepting her fate. Robin was also looking at me with expectation.

"Well sorry to break it to you but I don't know any technique that I could teach you."

"Then how do you expect us to survive here?!" Olvia had a dumb look on her face.

"Huh? isn't that obvious? Fight till death with the insect on this island!"

"Eeeeehhhhhh??!!!!!"
