"Well that was disappointing. I really thought it would be a check for 1 billion dollars."

I threw the box behind me as I rummaged through the drawer. However, to my dismay, nothing was left other than cobwebs and spiders doing the dirty deeds.

"Ugh," I said as I put my tongue out in disgust.

I slammed the drawer closed and let the spiders be. Remembering the bag, my smile quickly began to return. I took the bag, opened it, and sat on the bed, counting the golden coins by hand.

I lay belly down with my two feet up in the air, and with my right hand supporting my face, I counted the golden coins with a bright smile and a blush on my face.

"1… 2… 3… 4… Hehe… 5…"

[Ding!]

Startled, I quickly reacted, causing my gambling money to drop on the floor and under the bed. I quickly got up and yelled, "Nooo! My poor babies!"

After finishing collecting all my gambling money, I looked around for the source of the sound.

"What the fuck was that sound?! I swear to god if I lose even one single gambling money, I am going to murder whoever made that shitty ass sound!"

As I turned around, a blue text greeted me,

[...]

"..."

[What a weirdo]

"Oh my god! Did that box have some kind of drugs in it?! I don't wanna be a drug addict!"

[...]

"Ahem. Kids, having a drug addiction is bad, but continue gambling as your next bet might be your winning bet," I said, looking in a random direction with my thumbs up.

[...]

Curious, I walked up to the blue text and tried to touch it, but my finger merely passed through it with ease.

I clenched my fist and bit on my newly found shirt as tears fell from my eyes, "Shit! I must look extremely retarded right now!"

[You do…]

I stopped and got back to normal, "Oh wow, it can respond back. Drugs really are crazy. So anyway, what the hell are you?"

[...]

I stared at my own drug-induced imagination waiting for it to respond. I was about to ask again, but it answered me.

[Well firstly, you can see me not because of some drugs, but because I am your quest giver.]

I blinked a few times and said, "Go on."

[As the name suggests, I give you quests, and you do them for a reward.]

"And what if I don't?"

[For each quest you are given, you can pick whether you want to do the quest or not. If you say yes but later decide to stop the quest, you can merely abort it. There will not be a penalty.]

"Wow~, sounds sick."

[Although you can abort a quest anytime you please, it is not suggested.]

"And why is that?"

[Well, for one, the quests that are given are based on real events, such as hunger or thirst. For example, I can give you a quest right now.]

As the text said those words, I heard the familiar 'Ding' sound and a new text popped up.

[Quest:

Find food and fresh water!

Time: 3 days

Rewards: Not starving to death]

Frowning, I yelled out my distaste, "What kind of shitty ass reward is that?"

[It's merely an example. And as you can see, if you do not eat or drink water, you would most likely die. Not because of the system, but because you did not drink or eat anything for 3 days.]

I hit my fist on my palm and said, "Ah, I see. You're one of those systems that will make me super duper overpowered overnight?"

[Not quite. You see, my function is making avatars, meaning some missions will have rewards that are avatar creations, where you can put powers or personalities of someone into that avatar you made. These avatars, once made, can then be summoned and will be loyal to you. Moreover, that isn't the only thing I can do. I can also provide you with things such as money, food, or necessities such as tools. However, I cannot directly give you any powers. At best, I can merely give you books that will teach you how to perform a certain skill.]

"Soooooo basically, you're useless to me?"

[...]

"..."

[You and your summons can share skills with each other, even if they do not have a certain innate energy. However, for a skill to be taught, a summon or you, must have a high trust towards each other. Even though your summons will be loyal to you, they will not give their skills to you for no reason, you must earn it.]

"Energy? Like those things they use in anime?"

[That is correct.]

"Will that really be useful though? I mean I can use those 'energy' for cheating in casinos, but that's about it."

[Ah, it would seem that you have not figured it out yet. You are not in your old world.]

"What? Where the hell am I then? Please tell me there are casinos here."

[You are currently in the world of One Piece.]
