Chapter 14 A Powerful Enemy Attacks, An Ambush From The Bigmom Pirates

More than a week had passed since the Blood Sail Pirates arrived in the New World.

Sailing journeys are often monotonous. Every day, they face either the endless waves of the sea or the seagulls hovering in the sky.

In the past few days, their ship hadn't encountered any pirates, nor had they even spotted another vessel. However, as experienced pirates, they each had their own ways to pass the time.

Some were fishing from the deck, while others gathered in the room to gamble.

Carlos reclined on a beach chair, eyes closed and legs crossed, enjoying his relaxation. On either side of him, two female pirates with fair skin and attractive figures half-kneeled, gently massaging his shoulders and offering him cut fruit and snacks.

Carlos was in a state of bliss, lulled by the sound of the waves and the refreshing sea breeze, and gradually fell asleep.

As the captain of the Blood Sail Pirates, he deserved to enjoy himself.

In the cabin not far away, Yorick and several other officers were gathered, whispering among themselves.

"Hey, Yorick, are we really going to Wanokuni?"

The first officer glanced at Carlos on the deck through the transparent window. He lowered his voice and said:

"I've tried to persuade him several times, but he's adamant about joining the Beasts Pirates."

Everyone frowned.

"Join the Beasts Pirates?"

"I don't understand. Why would anyone prefer being someone else's subordinate over being the boss themselves?"

"Sure, with his high bounty, they'd welcome him. But what about us?"

In the Blood Sail Pirates, they were prominent figures, leading hundreds. But in the Beasts Pirates, they'd be nothing more than small fry.

"Well, let's take it one step at a time. If it doesn't work out…"

As they discussed, a pirate from the observation room above the mast shouted loudly.

"We've got a situation!"

"Pirate ships spotted directly ahead of the fleet, and there are a lot of them!"

Everyone exchanged worried glances, stood up immediately, and rushed to the deck.

Many gathered with telescopes, shouting and pointing.

Yorick's face darkened as he pushed through the crowd to the edge of the ship.

"What's the situation?"

Before anyone could respond, Yorick grabbed a telescope from a nearby crew member and peered into the distance.

About ten nautical miles ahead, ten three-masted sailing ships with pirate flags suddenly appeared. They formed a line, blocking the sea ahead.

Seeing this, Yorick's expression grew serious.

"Just as I expected from the New World. We've run into pirates quickly."

Suddenly, someone shouted.

"That flag is from the BIGMOM Pirates!"

"No way? Are you sure?"

Everyone was shocked.

More pirates abandoned their tasks and gathered on the deck.

"Looking at their formation, it seems they've been waiting here for a long time."

"No, they've spotted us! They're heading straight for us! And fast!"

"Damn it, why is this happening?"

"Could it be because…"

The crew on the deck glanced nervously at Carlos. They hadn't forgotten that he had defeated Charlotte Daifuku from the BIGMOM Pirates a few days ago.

Carlos seemed unperturbed by the commotion. He stretched, stood up slowly, and came to the deck to see what was happening.

"Oh? Enemies?"

"Captain, the BIGMOM Pirates must have learned about you and come here for revenge! This is happening too fast!"

"The enemy's strength is double ours. This is bad!"

"Captain, change course! It's not too late to escape!"

Before heading to the New World, everyone had done their homework and was aware of the sea emperors who ruled the New World. They knew the power of the BIGMOM Pirates well.

"Why panic?" Vice Captain Yorick shouted. "Don't forget who our captain is!"

Although concerned, he didn't overreact.

Facing ten battleships, they still had the captain's formidable swordsmanship to rely on.

However, another officer's exclamation shattered any illusions of a simple escape.

"If I'm not mistaken, that's…"

"Snugget from the Four Dessert Stars! And Smoothie!"

"What? Two generals at once? That can't be right!"

The officer quickly retrieved a thick stack of reward notices and began flipping through them. His face soon turned pale.

"Snugget, one of the Four Sweet Generals of the BIGMOM Pirates, has a bounty of 600 million beri!"

"Smoothie, one of the Four Dessert Generals, has a bounty of 932 million beri!"

"It's them, for sure!"

Fear crept into his voice, and he wasn't alone. The pirates on the deck felt an overwhelming sense of dread upon recognizing the two figures on the enemy ships.

"It's over. We're completely done for…"

The Blood Sail Pirates had only a few members with bounties in the tens of millions. Deputy Captain Yorick had a bounty of 100 million beri, and even the most powerful recent addition, Captain Garros, had a bounty of 500 million beri.

How could they possibly match up against these two generals?

Not only were they outmatched in terms of numbers, but their high-end combat power was also severely outclassed.

Yorick approached Carlos with a serious expression and said in a deep voice:

"Captain Garros, the situation is critical. The enemy's strength is formidable. We need to change our route immediately!"

After waiting a long time without a response, Yorick's anxiety grew. He gritted his teeth and prepared to give the order himself.

"Run? What are you running from?"

Carlos didn't seem concerned about the battle ahead. He replied calmly:

"Give me my orders and face the enemy head-on."

Based on his knowledge from before traveling through time, Carlos knew the cadre structure of the Beasts Pirates:

The governor, the Three Calamities, the Flying Six, the Real Fighters, and others.

If he wanted to be an undercover agent, it would be best to become a Three Calamities-level officer to access the core secrets of the Beasts Pirates. He also wanted to test his strength against such formidable opponents.

After days of boredom, it was time for some excitement. Even if he couldn't defeat them, he could use his skills, like going behind enemy lines and Moonwalk, to escape.

As Carlos and Yorick spoke, the enemy's previously straight line formation began to change.

The ten pirate ships quickly formed a semicircle, surrounding them. The distance between the two sides was closing rapidly.
