Family secret

The entire time that Huobai was away, Yixing hadn't spoken to him. Not even once. He never sent a message or just a stupid emoji to Huobai. But Huobai did nothing either.

Because when he was home. He wanted to take care of something before he would tell the truth to Yixing. Just that his mother had an emergency and had to stand in for another catwalk model. So, the day Huobai came back, she left for the States.

"Do you know where mom is supposed to come back?" he asked his father and got just raised brown over his tablet.

"Dad… I… Can I ask you for money?" he asked another question, which definitely got his father's attention. Yeah, the second generation of business owners could only hear the word money and direct their attention to it. Or at least his father was like that.

"She should come today. But you know the planes and their schedule. And how much do you need?" Zhang Nanchuan put down the tablet and laptop he had on his lap. And leaned forward to look into Huobai's eyes, who sat down in front of him.

'So, he was listening after all,' Huobai thought and leaned back into the armchair. He was debating how much he could ask for, just to keep his father out of the heart attack possibility.

"We are building a high-rise building. On the edge of Hong Kong… almost in Clearwater Bay…" His father whistled and scratched his head.

"We, is who?" he asked. Huobai totally forgot that he still hadn't introduced any of the members of his team. He grimaced and smirked.

"You know most people here, right? High society?" his father nodded.

It was true that their company was mainly in Macau, but his father liked the calmness that surrounded him here. That was why they lived in Hong Kong. And that was why Huobai asked that question. He hadn't seen them out much.

"Mr. Jin?" He was probing a bit more. His father thought for a moment and then took back his tablet. Obviously, this conversation wasn't busy enough to occupy his entire brain.

"Jinshu Jin or jinli Jin?" Huobai chuckled. Of course, he would know more about Jins than Huobai.

"Jinshu Jin. I think his full name should be Jin Weiwu." Huobai nodded, proud that he remembered. Suddenly, his father sprung up and walked to Huobai.

"Jin Weiwu?" he asked, shocked, and pulled out his phone. He searched for a picture and showed it to Huobai.

"This one? You are on his team?" Huobai frowned. Why was he behaving like that? That wasn't his usual calm and poker-faced father.

"Well, it's his son's. So not exactly his, but yes. He helps us too. Usually with money and marketing and things around, because we want to concentrate on playing." Nanchuan sat down, looking exhausted. He ran his hand through his hair, frustrated.

"Why didn't you tell me?" he asked. Huobai was surprised. What was wrong with that?

He figured out that maybe his father should know the story of their family, too. And he felt bad that he didn't think of asking his father before.

"Well, he is investing in the building where our team will be, and there will be some offices and penthouses above too. Hyper Modern design with green balconies. So we need a lot of money." His father was silent, still shocked, looking at his own son.

"Is… is Chao okay now?" his father asked, and it was now time for Huobai to be astonished. He nodded and heard his father's sigh of relief. Was there something that Huobai didn't know?

"I will invest in the building too. But we still have our deal. And don't think that I will let you off the hook," he said and Huobai nodded. They still weren't that known. They still only spent money and made none.

"There is another guy there with the surname Li… I think you might know him, too. He… hates his own family and misses his mother." Huobai saw his father hold back his breath and wetness appeared in his eyes.

"Li Yixing…" he breathed out and Huobai nodded. His father knew him. Just from the description and surname. There was definitely something going on.

"I'm curious, can you tell me?" He saw his father ruminate. It took him longer than usual. He called in the maid and asked to bring them something to drink. It was a sign that he decided.

"I will tell you. But I don't want to damage the friendship that you now have…" they both settled down and Huobai smiled. He imagined the fun times they had together.

"It's okay, nothing would change how I see them." His father nodded and started talking…

***

Huobai was frowning the entire way back to the apartment. He shouldn't have asked. Now. He felt something that he didn't want to feel at all.

He was really young at that time and he couldn't remember it at all, so maybe none of them remembered.

How could fate be so volatile to make them like this? It was so strange and almost impossible. Just like straight out of a novel or a movie.

Where should he take him? He wanted to talk to him so much. He felt so much pity towards Yixing. He was so pissed at his own parents and even more at Yixing's father.

"Should I take him somewhere fun?" he spoke to himself, but the driver. Who just stopped in front of the apartment. He heard it.

"If you want to go and have fun. Try karaoke. I heard you singing. You would definitely make someone happy with a song," he answered, and Huobai chuckled. Maybe he might do that.

"Thank you. I love that idea. And thank you for the compliment." The driver smiled and Huobai got out of the car.

He had never been to karaoke before, so it would be his first time. It looked like almost all first were with Yixing. He remembered the night he got drunk and corrected his own thoughts. All his firsts were with Yixing…

He hurried into the elevator and then to the apartment. When he opened the door, there was darkness in the flat. Only a faint light could be seen in the distance.

When he arrived in the living room, he saw that no one was home. But the light in Yixing's room was on. So he should be at home.

Happy to see him and to take him out, Huobai ran, ignoring his occasional pain in his knee, and without knocking he slammed the door to Yixing's room open.

When he did that, he had surprised Yixing, who was in his bed. Naked. His trousers down.

Huobai had just seen him doing something he never thought he would see. Yixing was jerking off. And it made Huobai involuntarily swallow. They were both without a shame staring at each other.

He made a step closer to the bed and closed the door behind himself.
