Nevan appeared just outside The Eichen House, a mental health treatment facility.
Phone ringing, he answered,- "Hey honey, yeah, uh-huh, yeah, since you went out with your friends I've been exploring a bit, no, you don't need to make anything or order anything, why don't we eat out today, hurry on over, I found a great place you and our kid are going to love."
Moments later Rebekah was right next to him, sighing,- "I should have known better, I first thought you found some sort of hidden restaurant that we were going to have a nice normal date at, but you did say our kid is going to love it, so I guess that means someone deliciously powerful is in there?"
"Disappointed?" Asked Nevan thinking he was doing good.
"No, it's fine, your thinking of our kid, but a girl still wants to be taken out and fine dined you know, I really hope all those great dates you took me on aren't all over now, don't tell me we've already reached the settling phase, oh god," she gasped.
Nevan chuckled awkwardly,- "Honey relax, things have just been changing kind of fast, there are still plenty of great dates waiting for you in the future."
"Good, because I hope you don't think feasting together on some poor sod is romantic," Said Rebekah pointedly.
Nevan scratched his face looking away,- "No of course not."
His wolf instincts still sometimes came out in unexpected ways, like how bringing your mate and their litter a good hunt is about the best thing you can do.
Rebekah exclaimed,- "Oh my god! You did, didn't you? Honestly gaining something for our kid is great and all, but this is in no way how you treat a girl out."
"Riiight, wolf instinct dear, you gotta be patient with me sometimes, anyway, let's go get that meal," Nevan said walking off a little slumped.
Rebekah caught up,- "Nevan dear, don't be like that, I didn't mean anything bad about it, this is still wonderful, thank you," she said kissing his cheek, putting a grin back on his face,- "Try and remember though I was a human woman first, I like human romance."
"Got it."
Rebekah,- "You know the one I was out with, Lydia, the one who caught us in the act, it's been fun messing around with her and Allison. I enjoyed how she kept skirting around what she actually wanted to ask me. I won't be surprised if she tells Allison soon considering how close they are. I debated on killing them and covering it up, but they did show me a good time, and you're doing whatever it is your doing, so I let them go."
Nevan,- "You didn't have to do that for me if you really want to kill them, it's not that big a deal, it's just a dumb little play to pass the time, nothing I care about, though it kinda sounds like they won't spread the rumors of us together if you become friends."
"Is that what you want to happen? Spread rumors, so what? They start some shit with us or something?" Asked Rebekah.
Nevan,- "Or something, I told you it was dumb, you don't have to worry about it, and if it's bothering you I'll stop."
Rebekah,- "It's whatever, do what you want, like I said I took a liking to them so I won't kill them, it was funny when she asked me what I thought of you."
Nevan,- "Oh, and what did you say?"
Rebekah,- "I said you were the sexiest thing I ever laid eyes on, and how big I bet you were underneath and how great you must taste, and that's when Lydia spurted her drink coughing as I had a good laugh at both their rosy embarrassed faces. They're still both far too innocent, though Lydia puts up a great front. Allison, on the other hand, likely has little to no experience so she was especially fun to watch fidgeting at my crude descriptions."
Nevan smirked opening the door, walking up to the receptionist, and compelling her,- "If you would be so kind as to direct us to where you keep the supernatural members of this fine establishment, it would be most appreciative."
"Thank you, my dear, now if you would be so kind as to forget any of this happened, and erase all video data for today," he said walking away after receiving no relevant information.
"I could smell them from outside but not inside, this seems to be a prison of sorts and they seem to hold a good number of them, let's go find someone higher up on the chain of command."
It didn't take long to find who they were looking for, finding the head office right as the alarms blared and the place went into lockdown.
"Oh my," stated the older gentleman at the two intruders, slowly reaching for something under his desk.
Rebekah zoomed over disarming and pushing his rolling chair against the wall before leaning down to compel him,- "Tell us where you keep your prisoner now."
"Never," he spat unafraid, "better surrender now if you don't wish things to get messy," he said threateningly. His thinning blonde hair and beer belly doing little to strengthen his position.
Nevan walked over,- "Here let me try, though I suspect from the alarms that mine also won't work, they must be taking everything they can in order to defend against such situations, this place is far more competent than I first suspected."
Rebekah moving out of the way went over to the door warning him,- "More are coming, should we just raze the place?" She asked.
"Maybe," Nevan said leaning down to give it a shot,- "Tell us what we want to know," he compelled the man.
The man spits at him in response feeling no more need to talk.
Nevan easily dodges with a disgusted look,- "I haven't compelled very many people, though I did do that witch, something even you can't do, so I'm curious what exactly is in their system that is preventing mine from working."
"Vampires?" asked the man surprised to find them in town,- "What are you doing here... Wait did you say you compelled a witch?" Asked the man surprised.
"Why yes I did dr. Elman, care to explain why it doesn't work on you?" asked Nevan.
"Bullshit, vampires can't compel witches, I don't what your game is or why you decided to come to this town, but your kind never lasts long here, you'll fall like all the rest," said Dr. Elman angrily.
"They're here," said Rebekah as loud banging came from the door.
Nevan leaned closer again, covering Dr. Elman's mouth with one hand, ignoring his pathetic attempts to fight him off. Sniffing the area just around the good Dr., attempting to identify what he possibly could have taken that helped protect him, seeing no spell protection of any kind on his person.
The overwhelming herbal scent made it difficult to identify any one thing, though he did pick out Vervain and wolfsbane among many others, even some mountain ash.
"This guy took just about everything you can imagine, that can't possibly be good for your health," said Nevan releasing him.
Dr. Elman snorted in response but remained quiet. The threat of the situation finally dawned on him as he looked over to the door expectedly. Believing in his people's ability to handle the would-be intruders.
"They're almost through," Rebekah reminded him.
"I'm bored, are you bored?" Asked Nevan offhandedly.
Rebekah grinned,- "A little, maybe, although I enjoy being and doing things together with you."
Nevan smiled back,- "Not exactly what I was getting at, let's just end things, raze it, oh and careful of their blood, don't swallow any of it."
"I know, I got this," said Rebekah, her grin growing wider as her form began to shift, growing larger and wilder. A large golden werewolf appearing in her place, letting out a loud howl momentarily stunning the enemies in fear at the unexpected situation.
She dashed right through the broken door blasting it into pieces as she tore through the guards. Limbs and gore sent flying with every strike.
Uncontrolled, fear-induced screams echoing throughout the building, sending shivers down Dr. Elman's spine,- "I thought you were vampires," he stuttered.
Nevan glanced at the good Dr.- "She's far more than that, last chance doc, if you would have just told us where the prisoners were, all of this could have been avoided."
"I'll tell, I'll tell, just don't kill me," he said explaining where it was and how even if they get there it was designed to keep their kind out and they wouldn't be able to get in.
"Let me worry about that, now you can be on your way," Nevan said breaking his neck.
Following the massacre, he saw his wife's blood-drenched fur as she tore the receptionist from earlier in half.
"You found her, I'm surprised she didn't leave, well good riddance, are all the annoying little things taken care of?" Asked Nevan.
"Yeah, I killed everyone I could find, except the patients hiding in their rooms," said Rebekah.
"And just when I thought you were becoming a crazed killer, why spare them?" He asked amusedly.
"Tch, how dare you call your wife a crazed killer, I mean maybe the pregnancy hormones have been making me more irritable of late so I think of the quickest easiest solution, but I haven't gone off the deep end," she growled.
Nevan grinned,- "I didn't mean anything bad by it, besides I don't intend to leave any survivors, after we're done here anyone left will be destroyed along with this place."
Leading the way they approached the barrier.
Nevan carefully stuck his hand out testing it, feeling a strong repulsive force, getting a bit of a shock as well as he pulled back his hand.
"Hmm, it's impressive, for humans, I'll say that much, the building is built on the strongest convergence of telluric currents around and at least half of the building is made of rowan wood and mountain ash, which functions as its security system," said Nevan.
"Of course, if they really wanted to keep this place impregnable, they would have consulted magic users and weaved in protective charms and spells, I guess their distaste for supernatural prevented them from asking for help," said Nevan.
"Well, can we get through or not?" asked Rebekah impatiently, eager to get home and wash all the blood off her.
"Yeah, I was just appreciating the design," he said shifting into his Noblesse form.
"Shift into your Noblesse form and keep your aura up to stave off the effects, don't want our child going through any unwanted outside effects," he said turning to her,- "You have been practicing haven't you?" He asked, knowing it didn't come as easy to her as it did for him, possibly because she had half his power. Thinking how difficult it will be for her to ever be able to or if she could ever use her Phantom-Wolf manifestation, a way to combine their two most powerful forms for an enormous power boost.
"You bet, ever since you showed me you can fly, I have been working on getting it under control, I got this," Rebekah said confidently shifting down into her golden Noblesse form, still covered in blood.
And with a thought she demonstrated her newfound control sending a pulse of golden aura out, getting rid of all the blood on her.
"Good, the one we're here for may already be up and about. Shouldn't be a problem considering the state of its master but you never know, so keep your guard up, the rest of the supernaturals are just a bonus."
Rebekah,- "And what creature is it exactly that we're here for?"
Nevan,- "A Hellhound, a powerful summoned creature bound to its summoner, its power varies depending on multiple factors. How strong the summoner is, how much magic was used, how many sacrifices were made, but even a weak Hellhound can still burn through almost anything given enough time. I often wonder how strong they can actually become, if there is any limit or if I were to somehow go to hell, would I find their true form waiting for me there."
"Is hell real? Asked Rebekah.
"Who knows, that's something we'll never learn," Nevan replied.
