The Noob Is Working Out

The purpose of leveling up was to increase the status, to deal high damage, or even to tank the monster depending on your role in the party.

Shen now found out that he could increase his status without leveling up. But what he needed the most was to deal more damage, but also stamina.

He had found a way to increase his Endurance, now he needed to find out his way to increase his Strength to deal more damage.

"Old Man Yosu… No, I should call him Teacher… No, Teacher is too modern, I should call him Master instead," with that in mind, Shen dragged his weakened body into the village.

He went to the backyard, but he could not find Old Man Yosu. He walked around and entered the house. Old Man Yosu returned into a statue.

Shen wondered why the old man turned himself into a statue while he could live around normally. He then remembered that the old man was doing so to prolong his life.

'It seems I have to wait for the old man, not that I have enough SP to continue the training,' with that in mind, Shen threw his body onto the bed. The bed was so comfortable for his exhausted body.

Even though this was a game, he could feel the exhaustion was real. The sensation was so real that made him wonder if he was still in the game or not.

Fifteen minutes later, the weakened state was wearing off. His status went back to normal but there was one thing that kept decreasing. The Hunger, if he did not fill his belly with food, would reenter the weakened state. If he did not relieve the hunger, he would be dead. Totally different from the stamina where he just needed to rest to recover.

On top of that, he felt hungry as well. The hunger, he could feel that he was hungry, 'Will I still be hungry if I log out now?' That was an interesting experiment to do.

Shen shook his head and got up from the bed. There were two solutions to his hunger. First, he could loon for the chicken and suicide. Dying will reset hunger. Second, he could look at the fruits outside.

"Let's search for the fruit," for the long-term advantage, Shen chose to find the fruits. He could not keep dying, especially when he started to gain level.

Shen had looked around the village perimeter. He easily found berries. He found the berries on the way to the red soil area.

The berries were orange-colored, it tasted weird for a fruit. Usually, fruit would taste, sweet, sour, or even bitter. This was a combination of sweet and sour, it was refreshing that he did tire of eating the berries.

Since the berry was safe to be consumed, Shen harvested a lot of them. He could store them in the inventory and it would not go bad. However, he made a discovery while eating the berries.

The berries could not restore his hunger to 100 but 80. That was the maximum he could restore from eating the berries.

"Maybe because this is fruit, not savory food…" Shen deducted which most likely true. The more he played the game, the more he found the game was more complicated than it looked.

Shen returned to the village. Now he was thinking about what he should do next. He tried to wake up Yosu, but the old man could only wake up once a day or maybe once in two days.

"Let's continue the training instead," Normally player should be busy hunting the monster. The game was still in the early stage. It was a race that could reach the top board. Shen was sure there were a lot of people who had reached level 6 by now.

As he picked up the stone onto his back, he checked the ranking board. Sure enough, more than fifty people had reach level 6 in China Server. Since this was the only VRMMORPG in the world, all-pro players should be joining this game. These more than fifty players should the pro players.

"It should be easy for me to catch as long as I can start killing the spearhead fish…" Shen muttered optimistically, "I need to raise my Strength to deal more damage, but I have to wait."

It was not just blind optimism. Since the monster around was level 30 and above, he could level up pretty quickly. He just lacked the damage.

Taking a deep breath, he started the second round. While people were grinding for the level, Shen was grinding up for his attributes.

Another two hours passed, Shen let off the stone to the ground. Before he threw himself to the ground. The sun was ready to set as the glow beautifying the village and its surroundings.

[You have worked your body to the limit!]

[Congratulations! You gained +1 Agility and +2 Endurance!]

Hearing the static voice, a slight grin formed on his lips. Even though he was the only one that worked his ass out in the game, there was a sense of satisfaction when he heard the increase of the attribute.

Shen checked the time, it was three-thirty, "I can still have one more round and then log out. I have promised Auntie Jun to come over. Moreover, Sister Meimei also comes back, I should greet her at least."

He did not go inside to rest on the bed, he found the cool breeze and the grass bed were more comfortable than the bed.

Again, he made another discovery while waiting for the weakened state to wear off. Resting on the bed made him faster to recover from the debuff. It took fifteen minutes when he laid down on the bed and it took him half an hour when he laid down outside.

"I have to rest on the bed next time," Shen muttered as he devoured berries into his belly. The more he worked up, the faster the hunger decreased. That was how it worked from his experience.

After recovering, Shen then started the third round. He finished the third of twenty laps in two hours. The improvement was that he could finish thirteen laps without depleting his stamina.

Learning his lesson, Shen dragged his exhausted body to the bed after he heard the notification. He laid down on the bed and logged out.

He opened his eyes, there was something off. He felt so exhausted in the game, but he was fine now.

Shen opened the gaming pod and tried to move his feet and his body. The sensation of being exhausted and became completely fine by now was weird.

The technology was far more advanced than he thought, it must be the gaming pod.

Shen shook his head and took out his phone. It was five-thirty, an hour before the dinner, "I can't come empty-handed, Ah, I remember Big Sis Meimei loves Red Velvet cake, let's order that."

After ordering the cake, he went to the bath. No evening jogging since he was not allowed by the Doctor.
