Noble Emblem

A young Brave walked out of his village, gathered companions to his side, defeated the Great Demon King, became famous, then came back with beauties in hand! This was a legend that appears in the world of Seyrol every 200 years! Our protagonist, however, isn’t a Brave. Even so, for over a thousand years his figure has loomed throughout its history. Unwittingly, the name of the Red Priest began to resound throughout the world. Red Priest’s legend included extraordinary sword techniques and magic, erudite knowledge, and an almost prophetic ability to lead young Braves toward the proper path. People of the world think of him as a descendent of the ancient Golden Race which led to his omnipotence. In essence, however, this was just the characteristics of the profession known as ‘Noble’. A word from the fabulousest translator/editor on Earth which is me I took upon this translation/editing project for the same reason I started translating my first Chinese novel. There are just too many big ass gems buried in a deep cesspool. I've long guessed that Qidian stopped introducing good Chinese novels on this platform in order to give some breathing room for English (and other) originals, but I don't agree with such approach. From a reader's standpoint, it is such a shame that we don't even know how many brilliant works we are missing because of the language barrier. To be honest, I'm mainly copypasting from the site called Novelhi. It is a really good resource and their machine translation is the best I've seen so far, and they also translate up to the latest available chapter. Still, they have several issues. For some reason they always miss the last paragraph which make you can missout on a potentially very important information related to a story, and they also have parts where just a couple of words gets repeated for a whole paragraph and it actually replaces the original text. They also translate an ad together with a chapter which is immersion breaking. I'll be correcting the inherent sins of such MTL with manual editing and translation and I will also polish some rough edges so that the readers will have as much seemless reading experience as possible. You will definitely have a better time reading this than me for sure

Kail's enlightenment

The sunset of Winterwind covered the snowfield outside of the city in amber. It was a beautiful view, but one would get bored after watching it for a long time.

Kail was very bored at this moment. He stood on the city wall and yawned at the beautiful winter scenery. White mist spewed out from his mouth. He was wearing a thin shirt, and behind him stood a group of soldiers. These soldiers looked at him with reverence in their eyes.

As the husband of the only daughter of Winterwind and the future mayor, Kail had a high position and influence in Winterwind. More importantly, Kail was very strong. Not only was he a Hero, which was a bug-like class, his Master title alone was enough for him to do whatever he wanted in Winterwind.

Therefore, none of the nobles in Winterwind thought that he had befriended the mayor's daughter. On many occasions, strength could transcend wealth and power and be on equal footing with the upper-class nobles.

At this moment, the number of Masters in Hollevin, including Beta and his companions, was barely more than five, which was not even among the countries in the world. But thankfully, Hollevin had a Legendary expert, Rider Grinton.

Also, because Grinton could fly, his nickname changed from Rider to White Pegasus Grinton.

In this world, if a person's title had a color modifier, it meant that the person had special abilities.

For example, a Barbarian Bear was definitely not as strong as a Grizzly Bear. Beta's nickname was the Red Priest, which was also an affirmation of his strength and style.

Kail, on the other hand, had his own nickname … Son of Phoenix. According to the language of Hollevin, it would be more appropriate to translate it as Descendant of Phoenix.

The word Phoenix, on the other hand, was synonymous with "blue fire."

No matter what, Kail had already snuck into the upper echelons of the nobility. Logically speaking, he had already fulfilled his grandfather's dying wish and married the woman he loved. Now that they had a child, he should be satisfied and proud of himself.

But at this moment, he felt bored. Although his wife was great and his child was cute, he felt that something was missing.

Kail was also the mayor of Winterwind. He was in charge of almost all the guards in Winterwind. Nobody disobeyed him … If anybody disobeyed him, he would beat them up until they did. It was his teacher's teaching that he did not dare to forget for a moment.

During the routine patrol, Kail looked at the boundless snowfield outside and heaved a long sigh, his eyes even more confused.

The group of soldiers following behind him did not find it strange at all. Kail had been depressed recently, and this was something that everyone knew. However, no one knew what was going on. It was said that because of this matter, the Castellan's daughter was also very worried.

Kail let out another long sigh. Just as he was about to turn around and leave, he suddenly felt a powerful source of mana coming from the Void, anchored to the snowy plains less than a thousand meters away from the city.

Space jump!

Kail narrowed his eyes subconsciously and put his right hand on the hilt of his sword.

The light of magic appeared on the snowfield, and the soldiers behind him were on high alert.

But in the next second, Kail's face lit up, and the gloomy and bored look on his face disappeared. Under the surprised gazes of the soldiers behind him, he jumped down from the city wall that was over ten meters tall and sprinted towards the place where the Magical Array had appeared.

"Mr. Kail!"

The soldiers behind him were greatly shocked. Thinking that their boss had discovered something, they were about to jump down too, but they were frightened by the height difference. The deputy captain hurried to roar, "What are you waiting for? Gather and open the gate to protect His Excellency!"

The soldiers immediately realized what was going on and charged down the city wall with their weapons. They were regular soldiers after all. Although they looked messy, they still maintained order.

After Kail jumped down from the city wall, he immediately rushed out of the place where the magic array appeared. He was extremely fast, and it only took him about twenty seconds to cross a distance of about a hundred meters and reach the magic array.

However, he did not attack the magic array. Instead, he waited, very excitedly.

The magic array was formed very quickly and was completed in a short while. Three figures appeared in the magic array. They were Beta, Shirley, and Emma.

"Teacher, you're finally back." When the light of the magic array disappeared, Kail rushed up and gave Beta a big hug. He then nodded to the other two women and said, "Of course, it's a pleasure to see you, Ms. Shirley and Princess Emma."

Beta patted Kail's shoulder lightly. He had always liked this student.

He walked in the direction of the city gate and said, "I heard that you recently gave birth to a child. Congratulations."

"Hehe." Kail smiled proudly and asked, "How long will you stay this time, teacher?"

"Actually, it has something to do with you," said Beta casually. "Why don't we talk after we return to the city?"

Kail quickly nodded and agreed. He had a feeling that his teacher could pull him away from such a boring daily life.

In the castle of Winterwind, Beta met Kail's offspring, a pink baby who had just learned to sit up. He looked at the three strangers around him with his blue eyes and was rather scared. Instinctively, he grabbed his mother's clothes and tried to crawl into her arms.

"This boy looks more like you." While talking to Kale, Beta took out a blue pendant that he had enchanted from his space and put it on the child. He smiled and said, "This is a gift from uncle. Take it."

Whether it was Kail or Barbara, both of them could feel the subtle magical waves from the pendant. Although it was steady, it was as unfathomable as the calm surface of the sea.

This magic pendant was enchanted with a protective barrier, and it had 37 layers … For this pendant, Beta had spent at least four days. Once the holder of the pendant was attacked, the protective barrier would be activated, and it could resist at least two minutes of strong attacks from a Master. As for professionals below the Master level, it would be impossible to break this barrier without at least half an hour.

Also, the pendant had an alarm function. When it was attacked, it would launch a magic firework into the sky, which was quite eye-catching.

After all, Barbara was a magician. She only needed to touch the magic pendant to know its general function. Although she was too weak to see such a powerful magic item, it wasn't hard for her to recognize it.

"It's a gift from you, sir." Barbara bowed slightly to Beta in gratitude. She knew very well how valuable this thing was, especially now that the Longman family had two large fiefs and had risen to become one of the top families in Hollevin. As the heir, her son, who had just been born, would definitely be noticed by many people. At least, this pendant would increase his safety a lot.

Kail didn't care about what Beta gave him. In his opinion, a gift from his teacher naturally wouldn't be bad. Also, they had a very good relationship. If he expressed his gratitude solemnly for a mere worldly item, it would seem very distant.

So, after the servant brought the fruit wine, he asked directly, "Teacher, what do you want to talk to me about?"

Beta glanced at Barbara and the child in her arms and hesitated. After the Epic-level mission to kill the vampires was released, he knew that he was in urgent need of help. Moreover, as a member of the Knights of the Round Table, Kyle could share this Epic-level mission. Once completed, it would be of great benefit to the latter's strength.

But now, looking at Barbara who was holding the child, Beta had some doubts about his decision.

After all, Kail was the father of a child. They could definitely complete the epic quest together, but Beta couldn't guarantee that there would be no casualties … He, Shirley, and Emma didn't have any offspring, so they naturally wouldn't have too many responsibilities. But Kail was different. He had a son, and naturally, he had concerns and responsibilities. Was it right to drag him to complete such a dangerous quest?

Kail was now a father, and his temperament and wisdom had greatly improved in the past year. Seeing Beta's expression, he smiled and said, "Teacher, don't think too much. If there's anything, just say it. Now that I have offspring, no matter what I do, I won't be afraid. "

This was the difference in concepts caused by different cultures. In the Han culture, family responsibilities didn't just refer to having offspring, but also included taking care of the elderly and raising the offspring. But here, as long as a man left behind a descendant, then he would have completed at least half of his family responsibilities. If he could raise his descendant, it would naturally be for the best. If he could handle the growth of his descendant well, he could completely wash his hands of it, and no one would think that he was doing anything wrong.

Therefore, most of the time, the nobles would divide up a small territory and throw the offspring they didn't like there. They would then send some people to help them, and then let them run their own course.

Even so, they were already very responsible elders.

Beta thought for a while and said, "I invited you here this time because I want you to come with me to hunt down an evil creature, a vampire."

"I'm very willing to work with you, teacher." Kail stood up, his face full of ecstasy.

At this moment, Kail knew why he had been bored recently. He craved adventure, he craved to punish evil, and he craved battle even more. Because he was a descendant of the Phoenix and had the blood of justice flowing in his body, and because he was a Hero, he was destined to be a man in battle.

An ordinary life was just an embellishment of his life. The main melody of his life would definitely be a life of turbulent adventures.
