CHAPTER 6

Tate's cheeks quickly covered his eyes when he saw the last five messages of the system.

The system has finally rewarded him with skills.

There was nothing he loved more than learning new skills, unfortunately he never got to practice any new moves because he knew he was going to lose anyway.

The match was already fixed, there was no need to train hard or learn anything new.

This life was starting to bore on Tate, but what could he do, he had a sister to feed and a hospital bill to pay.

Tate's eyes went through the system messages again, he was starting to panic that the system wasn't going to give him anything, but thankfully, he got five skills.

He decided to check the skill room immediately.

"Open skill room."

Tate commanded with a little excitement. He wanted to see what the skills were all about. According to the system, he would see the attributes of each skill in the skill room.

[Opening Skill room]

[Skill room.

PASSIVE SKILLS(1)

ACTIVE SKILLS(4)

Note; Passive skill do not require orenda energy to activate, while active skills requires orenda energy to activate]

Tate already knew the difference between the passive skill and the active skills. He had seen it in video games before. The passive skill was more like a personal character talent, whereas active skills were just normal skills that any character could have and use.

Tate wasn't happy that only one passive skill was given to him, because passive skills always come in handy at the beginning of many games, before the player would be able to generate more active skills and a good amount of energy to launch them.

Although Tate wasn't happy by this, he could see that he would be able to get more passive skills in the future. Certainly he wouldn't be stuck with only one passive skill.

Tate clicked the passive skill section. It was time to see what the passive skill was all about.

[Host only has one passive skill! Host should work hard to get more! Skills can be acquired through system cards, daily logins, lottery and many more to come!]

Tate frowned a little when he saw the message, maybe the system should've given him more, instead of this blabbing. He wished he had more passive skills, well, the system did mention that he would have to work hard, this wasn't a cheat code or a cheat book.

Tate's eyes moved to the passive skill.

[A warrior spirit.

This skill would automatically trigger once host health drops to 20%. Host stamina would automatically increase by 200%

When Host health drops to 10%. Host stamina would be increased by 400%.

When host health drops to 1%. Host stamina would be increased by 1000%]

Tate was stunned by this, he was expecting a groundbreaking passive skill, like being able to perceive his opponent's weak point or something, but he got something simple, and it had to do with his stamina.

He wasn't happy that the skill had to do with his stamina. If it had something to do with his pace, this would have been heavenly to him, but stamina wasn't all that beautiful in his ears.

He would only be able to endure pain, and nothing more, if he was to face a strong opponent, his opponent would probably just keep hitting him until he eventually passes out.

Tate wasn't happy at all, but on second thought, he tried to reason the good side of having his stamina increasing when his health drops that low, and it wasn't all that bad.

His opponent would be weak by then, he wouldn't just sit around and let his health drop to 20% while his opponent remains active. He must've done a lot of damage to his opponent too.

When his health drops that low, his stamina would increase, making sure he stays fit and continues fighting with the same intensity from the beginning, whereas his opponent might be panting heavily like a dog.

Tate's cheeks moved as he had more positive thought about his passive skill.

This was a great skill, he might never be knocked out in his life with this skill, in martial arts, knocking someone out was the famous and traditional way of winning.

There were three ways to win a match, by knock out, by submission, and when the timer elapses, when that happens, the person that managed to hit his opponent to the ground several times wins, if nobody was able to do that, extra rounds would be added, until one of these things happens.

He had never seen extra rounds before, matches normally ends before the ninth round, which was the last round.

Whatever the case on that, Tate believed with this passive skill, the chances of him getting knockout have been reduced drastically.

He decided to go back to the main skill store. It was time to check out his active skill, he was satisfied with the passive skill he received, it wasn't that godly, but it would come a long way when he eventually faces stronger opponents.

"Open active skill!"

Tate decided to voice out instead of clicking the screen.

[Section Opened.

Some of host skills are still locked, while others are not even available yet. Host must work hard to unlock these available skills and unavailable skills, it's the only way to the top!]

Tate didn't know how to feel about the message, now the system was handling him like a kid, however, he wondered what the system meant by some of the skills were locked, and unavailable.
