Chapter 8

It was pure chaos. Harry had gone to the expo to fill his time and also see one of the biggest companies that fund the U.S military.

It was quickly hijacked by Tony as Iron Man. A few seconds after he landed all the drones started attacking. Harry was sure that Justin Hammer was not responsible. He seemed too eager to please the military and this would set him back in time and money.

It was most probably an inside job of someone who had access to the software of these drones. The best way to stop these machines was to locate Justin Hammer's.

He found Hammer being interrogated by Pepper Potts and Natasha. He hid behind the wall and listened into this conversation,

"Where is he?"

Hammer replied with a muffled voice while his face was being pressed on the table, "He is in my facility."

He watched Potts calling the NYPD while Natasha going to the facility. He heard Happy say, "No I am driving the car."

Harry disillusioned himself and got into the front seat before they got into the car. He saw Happy continuously looking into the mirror while Natasha was changing her clothes.

"Eyes on the road." Harry said.

"Oh my ", Happy swerved his steering wheel in shock before getting it under control. "Who are you? What the hell are you doing in this car and when did you get here?"

"Don't scare me like that. I almost put a bullet in your head." Natasha said.

"I put up a shield before. I expected you to shoot me. Growing soft, are you?"

"You know this guy, Natalie?" Happy asked.

She ignored him and asked, "When did you arrive?"

"Just this morning. I wanted to see the expo and believe me; this is way better than some safari I was taking."

"How did quitting work for you?"

Harry replied, "Feels like an itch in the back that kept growing until I picked up my gun today."

There was a bit of silence, "I tried quitting after I escaped. It didn't work out for me you know. And I don't think that will work for you."

They were interrupted by Happy, "Can someone please tell me what is going on."

"It's nothing Happy, just keep driving we are almost there."

He huffed in frustration and pressed the gas pedal even harder. After several minutes of agonizing silence, they finally reached the facility. As soon as they entered a guard came at them. Happy immediately engaged the guard. While Happy was preoccupied they quickly took down the remaining guards.

"He is most probably in one of the rooms. You go search for him, I will go to the command center and see if there is anyway to disable the drones." Harry said.

Natasha nodded before splitting with Harry in the corridor.

Natasha pov

She entered the room to see several bodyguards dead or dying. The target managed to escape before she got here. She approached the device on the table and went to work. He had used this to take control of Rhodey. She quickly connected herself to Rhodey's suit and freed him. She tried to disable the drones but was unable to. He had already built the drones in a way that interfered with hacking. What she could see is the position of the drones, and she could see them converging near the forest. She was informing them of the incoming drones when Harry came behind her. "Any luck on your side?"

He shook his head, "He covered his tracks pretty well." The he took a look at the screen and told her, "Warn Tony of a big suit. I saw the room it was built in, and it is much bigger than him."

Harry and Natasha watched from a distant camera as Ivan was taken down. Then all the drones started pulsing red.

"Self-destruct" Harry muttered.

"Tony get out of there, now!" Natasha said. They watched as Tony fly away from the forest. The drones started exploding one at a time all around the city.

After a few minutes everything calmed down. The police and fireman were trying their best to reduce the chaos.

"I have to go now. The officials will be coming in." Harry said to Natasha.

She nodded at him, "Call me after this blows over."

"That was my line."

"Not anymore."

Nick pov

He read the report he had received. The shield were having a tough time cleaning up Stark's mess. Without his cooperation, they were having a tough time fending off questions.

Nick was tight lipped about the suits that Hammer had built. He wanted one to improve shield capabilities. Unfortunately, they all blew up due to a self-destruct sequence.

Just then Coulson came in, "There were abnormal signatures coming from New Mexico. The weather reading shows high fluctuation. It's not dispersing."

"Send a strike team along with researchers. Take Barton along with you."

Coulson nodded and promptly left the room.

"I am getting too old for this shit" He muttered to himself.

Loki pov

Odin had banished Thor to Midgard and went to sleep. No one can beat my claim to the throne, and with this he was the king of Asgard. All shall kneel in front of me.

Rhodey pov

The Hammer industries were a huge let down. Ever since Stark stepped out of the arms race, all the weapon companies are trying to fill the void as the lead weapons developer. The first choice was Hammer Industries, but after the incident at the expo they were out. That and their 'ex-wife' was a bust. Didn't even explode or pierce metal like it was advertised.

Thor pov

I need to find my hammer. That is the only way I stop being a mortal and ascend back to Asgard. I just need to follow the storms and thunder and I will be able to find it.
