Troublesome Betas

I called the twins telling them I would be a bit late and to have Carrie prepare a room and clothes for a girl her size. They didn't ask too many questions and got to work as I made my way across town with a naked girl in a jacket on my bike. Luckily it was still late. So making our way through Beacon Hills I make a quick brake at the light and texted Marin to come over, considering Malias identity it might help having someone else around.

The ride itself wasn't that long and Malia clearly wasn't in the mood to speak first so instead we drove back in a comfortable silence as Malia held on to me very tightly. Arriving at the gates of my mansion I see the very familiar figure of Marin standing there next to a bike. Because it's an unspoken rule supernatural people love bikes. I wave to her as I enter the gate code and she followed me inside up to the house. I parked in the garage with a druid behind me and she was stunned seeing all the different bikes and murmured "No wonder the store said my order would take a while."

"Jealous? As a part of the pack pick a bike and take it at will." I spoke to both Marin and Malia but we'll probably take time to teach the latter later. Exiting the garage through the kitchen door we're met with boxes of pizza ready to eat. Marin was stunned seeing the three together as she was under the impression my only pack was the twins so far.

The trio turned to look at us before focusing on Malia the girl around Carrie's size who was in desperate need of clothes and a shower that I had pre-ordered. Carrie stood up and offered to take Malia to the bath when Malia growled at her and pulled herself behind me.

"Sigh Malia she's a member of the pack."

Malia turned to me with visible confusion in her glance as she said "But she doesn't smell like you like the other two or me." It took me a second to realize what she meant and I understood. Unlike the twins who follow me whole heartedly or Malia who was 'captured' and submitted to her instincts, Carrie was a grown woman before being bit and mostly joined me as she had nowhere to go.

"Dont worry about it Malia, she's one of us don't worry about the scent." Still a little wary but obedient she followed Carrie upstairs to the bathroom. As soon as the two women were gone Aiden spoke up.

"Where'd you find her? The woods?"

"Thats right!"

"No way seriously?"

When Ethan spoke up "She's not a wolf is she? She smelt different."

"She's a coyote, of course she smelt different."

That's when Marin spoke up "She's a hunter. As soon as she smelt Carrie was different she hid herself in your shadow and locked her eyes on Carrie's throat, and entered a state of ready combat."

"Not only that but she's definitely stronger than an average Beta," I interjected "We've faced Betas and if using an average beta to scale Malia is worth 3-4 Betas on her own, that could increase if they don't have her killer instinct."

The twins grew silent before Ethan spoke up "But how? She's not an Alpha too is she?"

Marin spoke up again "Amongst coyotes there's an old Legend that sometimes at birth there was a case where the daughter will take anywhere from ten to fifty percent of the mothers strength when she's born. Most likely Malia was that case."

I was about to speak again when my phone vibrated and I saw it was a text that Erica was by the gate so I unlocked it from my phone granting her access as I brought myself back into the conversation, "We'll continue this sometime else, my new beta is here and we still need to settle Malia and Carrie so this is a good time."

"Another Newbie? The full moon is close can we handle it?" Aiden asked with some worry "If it was just Carrie and your new beta that'd be one thing but them both with Malia."

"There's three of us, if you each can't handle one girl then let me know now, I promise I won't judge."

They both shut up as Marin looked at them with a teasing smile that seemed to say 'You big guy can't handle little girl? pitiful' but she didn't speak it which made the look way worse. The door was knocked on and I had Aiden go greet our new beta as I looked at Marin.

"Have you prepared enough for two Betas? Would it be too much to ask for a third?"

"If it's for Malia no worries I prepared enough to split between 5 Betas just in case someone needed a double dosage."

Seeing her air of rich woman don't care, I couldn't help but applaud after all a rich woman is every man's dream. Ethan rolled his eyes at my bravado but it seemed Ms. Morrell appreciated it. While our antics were going on Carrie came back downstairs just in time for Aiden to bring our favorite Erica.

"Oliver! What's happening to me? It's like my body doesn't hurt, and I can see clearly, and my chest doesn't hurt, is it some new drug? I tell you I won't get addicted will I?"

Erica entered the kitchen in her grey sweat suit ignoring the odd looks she was getting. First a wild child now a homebody, it took everyone a second to reboot at my new beta when I coughed "Carrie can you help Erica get some better clothes while we're waiting on Malia."

Carrie rolled her eyes as Erica was saying 'what's wrong with my clothes?' but she was ignored as she was dragged upstairs. The twins looked at me as if asking 'anyone else?' but I ignored them and moved to the living room to get comfortable while waiting. The twins joined me while Marin made some tea. I was expecting to take a while but when Malia came downstairs 10 minutes later washed and dressed and then we were still waiting another 20 minutes before Carrie finally came down stairs in a grand fanfare as she spoke.

"I PRESENT TO YOU THE NEW ERICA REYES!"

We looked to the stairs and were stunned seeing the blonde bombshell in leather with makeup on walk downstairs, her body looked smoking but she still lacked the confidence necessary for a wolf. As indicated when she finally got 👇 she froze seeing all eyes on her.

"Is it okay?" she asked

"Gorgeous, much better" Aiden replied honestly and he was right. After a few rounds of praise Erica was almost like a new girl walking around confidently to an empty seat before taking it for herself. Seeing the twins, Malia, Carrie and Erica seated with Marin taking the seat to my left as I began speaking.

"Everyone let's welcome Erica and Malia to the pack. We have many things to talk about tonight so let's not waste anytime shall we? First things first for the three ladies. Tell me how do you feel about chains?"
