Confession

"I won't be joining you guys" With that, Bonie gave goodbye to her colleagues before turning to leave. Coming out from the hospital, her expression stiffened when she crossed a middle aged woman.

Lounged facing each other in a famous cafe, Felicia asked, "How shameless can you be, Bonie? My son doesn't like you anymore. Why are you still clinging onto my son?". There was a glint of dark amusement in her eyes as she assessed Bonie.

"What do you mean, Aunty? Jaden and I are over" Bonie kept a straight face.

"Are you still playing dumb?" Felicia couldn't help sneering.

Bonie let out a chuckle while staring at Felicia with an ever broadening smile. "You should tell your son to stop pestering me on the phone. He and I are nothing more than strangers now"

"You...!" Felicia couldn't have been more furious. She stood up and said, "So this is what you're truly like, Bonie—ill-mannered and arrogant".

Bonie shot out a mocking look. "Yes. Didn't your son told you that this the reason why he cheated on me? Please don't come again and..... "

Before Bonie could finish, she was given a loud, hard slap on the face. She wore an odd expression while Felicia observing whose chest was heaving in shock.

"Its very fortunate that my son end things with you. I don't want a daughter-in-law like you" Felicia seethed, her chest rising and falling rapidly.

After leaving the cafe, Bonie walked a distance ahead. She didn't even realize that how far she walked. She took a step forward, but she felt a shooting pain from her heels all of a sudden. So, she sat down in a bench.

Bonie slowly raised her head when she sensed that there was someone beside her. Her eyes flickered when she saw Nolan standing tall and straight while his black suit.

"You—" She felt her eyes burning as she tried her best to hold back her tears. Right then, she felt oddly flustered as she stared at the emotionless man with her watery eyes.

"Why are you...." Bonie stared blankly at him in a trance. Rendered ill at ease under his stare, Bonie withdrew her gaze in a fluster, feeling so embarrassed that she didn't know what to do.

Just then, Nolan took out a handkerchief and handed to her. Nolan spoke in a slightly gentle voice. "Wipe your face with it."

Bonie glanced hesitantly at the handkerchief in Nolan's hand, but she took it in the end.

Bonie looked at Nolan, saying, "I'll give it back to you after washing it clean." She stood up and took a step but the color instantly drained from her face in pain.

Nolan looked down at her leg that are bleeding profusely. Suddenly, Bonie felt a force sweeping her up from the floor—the man, who was standing behind her, carried her in his arms.

"What are you doing? Put me down!" Bonie protest.

Nolan carried her to the front of the car door. He opened the door to the front passenger seat and place her carefully.

"Mr Carson, What are you doing?" Bonie yelled.

"You are doctor who treats patient. But How can you do when you get yourself hurt?" Nolan's expression turned grave.

"I will take care of myself... " Bonie quickly turned her head and raised her hand to wipe the tears on her face.

Nolan felt a sharp pang in his heart, and he couldn't help holding the woman beside him to his chest.

Bonie was raised by her single mother until her mother got married. But her uncle didn't treat her well. One day her uncle beat her to death and end up in hospital. Luckily her mother's best friend who witnessed the scene brought her in their family and raised her as her own daughter.

Bonie distance herself after a while and turned to meet the man's pitch-black eyes, which looked at her tenderly.

"Be my girlfriend. I will never let you cry" Nolan uttered. His expression show how serious he is.

Bonie pursed her lips for a while and said slowly, "My ex-boyfriend and I known each other for three years and yet the trust is as thin as a rake. We've just met each other; what makes you trust that I'm the right choice?"

Nolan frowned, his eyes carrying depth. "You're comparing me to the scum?"

"I just don't want to.....because we kissed. And What do you know about me?" Bonie clutched onto the strap of her bag, and managed to calm herself down within a short time.

"Do we have to know each other? We will get to know each other if we date" Nolan raised an eyebrow.

There was a dead silence in the car.

It took some time long before Nolan spoke, "I am not pursuing you just because we kissed". His warm and fair hand wrapped around her beautiful hand, their contact making Bonie tense up.

"I like you, Bonie Green. Please be my girlfriend".

Bonie thought silently for a while but the moment his gaze met her eyes, Bonie couldn't help but skip her heartbeat.
