An unexpected visit

"Boring!" Sophi huffed.

Upon hearing that, Leila's expression loosened a little.

"What about your Brother? Did he get hurt badly?" Sophi asked.

"He is fine. He will discharged tomorrow" Leila replied. With her arms folded, she stared at Sophi and said, "Sophi, Pretend like you don't know anything about Drew injury in front of my parents".

"Okay" Leila casually nodded.

After a while Leila hesitantly opened her mouth. "Leila, Do you know Belle Hart?"

"Belle Hart? Model...Yes" Sophi nodded her head.

Leila put her hand to her forehead and asked lowering her voice, "What is her relationship with your Brother?".

Sophi glanced at Leila from the corner of her eye and plainly remarked, "Did you get jealous?"

"No. I am not" Leila grumbled.

Stumped by Leila's reaction, she chuckled softly. "Don't worry! There is nothing going between them".

Seeing the emotionless expression of Leila, Sophi added, "There are many women out there who are infatuated with Nick. But he didn't care at all. What I am trying to say is my brother is not someon....."

"Okay. I got it" Leila cut her off. "I understand!" She added nodding her head. After a second, Leila opened her mouth again, "So, you were in boarding school since grade five?"

Sophi gave her a tight-lipped smile and said, "You are finally interested!".

Leila was dazed for a moment before raising her brows. "What does it mean?"

With her chin resting on her hand, Sophi said, "Its the first time that you have questions about my brother and me". Her brows creased and continued, "In some point you don't seem like you are interested in my brother at all but you visited my Grandma". She told the last part meaningfully.

Leila laughed awkwardly. "Really?". Her suspicious gaze did not go unnoticed by Leila. She reveal a sheepish smile. "You know! Your brother and I just started to know each other....."

All of a sudden, her cell phone ringtone blared out from her pocket. Then she walked out with her phone.

Bonie came back home after her morning shift. "Leila, How is Mom?" Bonie asked as she changed into slippers before going inside.

"Good. She felt eased after she heard that Drew will discharge today" Leila replied. "And our mother has a guest today" Leila informed.

"Oh.." Bonie looked up, she saw a man sitting in the living room. His back was facing her. However, that man looked familiar, so that puzzled her.

"Bonie, You came back! Come here" Mother Serene beckoned on her. Bonie slowly made her way with Leila towards the living room.

She got the shock of her life after seeing Nolan, looking handsome as usual. Coincidentally, as he turned to look at her too, so their eyes met each others.

"Hello, Dr. Bonie" Nolan greeted calmly.

Mother Serene smiled faintly, "Just address her Bonie. This is not hospital".

Leila's eyes gleamed, then her gaze flitting between Bonie and Nolan.

"Bonie, You already know him since you are his consulting doctor" Mother Serene added.

"What did he tell Mom?" Bonie snapped out of her trance quickly. "Hello, Mr Carson!" She greeted back with a weak smile.

"I coincidentally met him in the market. Then he offered to drove me back home. It has been a long time since I last saw you with Tony. You become more handsome" Mother Serene couldn't hide her happy smile.

In the end, they all sat down for tea.

"Nolan, Is it okay if I asked you something?" Mother Serene bored a curious gaze on Nolan's face.

"Yes. Anything! Aunty" Nolan respectfully replied.

"Did you have girlfriend?" Mother Serene asked in straight voice.

"I bet he has!" Leila blurted out. She paused when she met Bonie warning eyes to watch her words. Leila cleared her throat dryly and spoke, "As Mr Carson looks handsome, kind and with his decent job, I guessed it won't be big deal for him to get a perfect girlfriend".

"Yes. Right!" Mother Serene eyes flashed with disappointment.

Nolan glanced at Bonie and replied, "I don't have a girlfriend". Bonie remain silent devoid of any expression but whenever Nolan glanced at her, she could feel her skin tingle.

"Leila, Your phone... "

Nolan was thunderstruck when she saw the familiar girl descending the stairs.

"Here!" Sophi handed the phone to Leila. As she turned around she felt her heart squeeze, and her face paled.

At that moment Nolan received a call, that marked the end of his visit, and he said goodbye to Green's family.

He was about to hop inside his car when heard a voice in the corner.

"Hello Nolan" Sophi let out an awkward chuckle. "What a coincidence." Sophi dragged her feet to the man who then scrutinized her from head to toe.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Sophi cocked her brows.

"What are you doing here?" Nolan questioned her.

"That Leila Green! She is my friend" Sophi replied.

Nolan's brows knitted together. "Pack your things! Come with me".

Sophi's irritation immediately showed on her face. "They are really good and treated me like a family. I will surely come back home. So, Please forget that you met me here".

Nolan raised his brows, "Sophi, Don't you know that your brother was crazy searching for you?".

After a brief pause, Leila mumbled, "When did you start worrying about my Brother?".

The man's expression clouded over as he shot Sophi a glare.

Sophi averted her gaze quickly and softened her voice, "I know! But Please..."
