Ch 51 : Third Hokage's situation

A huge circular fire slash landed on Gaara and this time, and even with his body having been fully transformed he wasn't able to negate the impact from Sasuke's slash.

The sand armor on Gaara's body had been blown away by Sasuke, giving Sakura the perfect time to strike.

"Now, Sakura!!"

"SHANAROOO!!!!"

BAMMMM!!!!!!

A direct blow connected with Gaara's body. Gaara was thrown away a few meters and there were no signs of him waking up any time soon.

Sasuke and Sakura sighed in relief as the long, arduous battle had finally met its end, and the two were revealed to be the winners.

Around this time, Sanada appeared behind the two while clapping his hands.

*Clap-Clap*

Sanada looked at his two disciples with a proud look.

The two were not Naruto with plot armor, so when they were able to win against a transformed Gaara with their combined strength and efforts alone. Sanada couldn't help but feel that the time and effort he had spent nurturing them had been worth it.

He walked to the two and placed his hand on Sasuke's and Sakura's heads, giving them both a head pat.

"Good job! Now let me deal with the rest. You two should return to Konoha and help the other ninja repel the invaders."

"Ah..."

Sasuke and Sakura wanted to complain. Since Gaara had been defeated, then shouldn't they go back to the village together?

But in the end, they still chose to believe in their Sensei and returned to the village, leaving Sanada with the semi-conscious Gaara.

"Kill me..."

Sasuke and Sakura had just left when Sanada suddenly heard a voice coming from Gaara's direction.

He saw Gaara lying there motionless with a half-tattered body which was the result of Sasuke and Sakura's attacks before.

"Kill me.. what are you waiting for? The business you are talking about should be to kill a monster like me, right?"

Gaara's voice was full of contempt, but he couldn't help but utter words of self-mocking for the pain hidden inside his heart.

All the suffering he had felt until now, Gaara had had enough of it.

He saw Sanada was walking closer in his direction and a mocking smile appeared.

"Yeah, like that. Just like everyone else. Come here and kill me..."

But then, something completely unexpected to Gaara happened.

The moment Sanada's hand was so close to his head and Gaara thought that Sanada was there to finish him off, he suddenly felt a hand was touching his hair.

"You have done well to hold on until now. It must be painful, isn't it? Staying in this world alone with no one by your side."

Gaara's words were interrupted by Sanada's and he felt his eyes widen.

For all the years he had lived until now, this was the first time someone had told him something like this.

He felt something coming from his eyes, but Gaara suddenly remembered all the painful betrayals he had been through before.

No, even though the person in front of him seemed different, he must not let his guard down. He couldn't be sure when the person next to him would reveal his true colors.

Sanada saw Gaara who was still wary of him and sighed. It seems like he still needed a bit more effort than that to convince Gaara.

He was not Naruto, so Sanada could only hope that his talk-no-jutsu would also work for Gaara.

"Hey, can I take a seat here?"

Asked Sanada as he sat down next to Gaara without even waiting for his reply.

Gaara's eyes were still gazing at him with suspicion. But then, Sanada began to talk:

"I know it's not easy to trust someone. But can't you hear me up for a bit? This is a story about a boy... a boy who was shunned by society, but always kept striving to be acknowledged by the others..."

His storytelling continued and the scenery of the story began to change into Konoha from a few years ago, and it started out with a blonde-haired boy standing alone beside an empty swing.

On the top of the Hokage building.

The Third Generation had been caught up in one of the most sinister battles that the Third Hokage had witnessed.

Obviously, the enemy was not someone we are all unfamiliar with.

The enemy was actually one of his disciples, and he was a disciple that the Third Hokage was proud over: Orochimaru!

This time however Orochimaru was not alone.

Besides him, there were also three popular figures that could also be seen in the Naruto anime. It was:

The First Hokage, Hashirama Senju.

The Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju.

And lastly, the father of the last Child of Uchiha, Uchiha Fugaku.

Because of Sanada's arrival, Orochimaru had to make some changes in his plans, and one of them was to include Fugaku in his Edo-Tensei corps.

He didn't know why, but Orochimaru felt like Sanada would be a huge hindrance to his plan, and that even with the two Hokage's, something could go wrong.

He needed to quickly kill the Third Hokage before Sanada arrived as backup.

A frown appeared on the Third Hokage's face. He knew that the situation was not favorable for him but he still needed to give it a try.

"Summoning Jutsu! Monkey King: Enma!"

The Third Hokage felt very heavy in his heart. He took a deep breath and folded his hands together.

Bang.

A burst of white smoke flashed.

And out of it came a burly ape with a white beard and white hair.

"Orochimaru.. So it's come down to this in the end?"

As soon as the summoned beast Enma appeared, he looked at Third Hokage's face with sarcasm clearly on his face.

"You're pathetic, you know that, Sarutobi? This is all because you couldn't kill him when you had the chance that time."

The Third Hokage looked serious, even after Enma's harsh words, he was still able to keep his calm.

"This is what we are going to do from here on. Enma, please transform into the Golden Staff!"

Enma nodded, and more white smoke puffed.

When the smoke eventually dissipated, the Third Hokage had a huge Golden Staff in his hand.

"Here we go, Enma!!"
