Becoming a Chunin

After about 3 days of traveling, Kenshin and gang returned to Konoha. As soon as they returned they went to the Anbu Commanders office and Team Leader Kakashi reported back the mission result.

"Okay nice work and due to there being 3 Jonins the level of this mission has risen to A level. And Kenshin stay back and rest of you can leave", said Commander.

After that everyone left the room. Kenshin began thinking why is he the only one left and has he done anything bad.

"Hayate Kenshin, very good work. Don't be afraid you have not done anything bad. I just want to talk with you as this is your first kill and what happened with those civilians...",said Anbu Commander and also started to talk with him for 20 minutes.

Kenshin who was feeling slight guilty, now felt better. Kenshin then thought, "Is this like "Psychological Evaluation" after first kill like in previous world".

"Okay now that you seem somewhat better. I am giving you one month break. And go to Hokage's tower, the Hokage wants to meet with you", said Anbu Commander.

"Yes Sir", said Kenshin then he bowed down and then left to meet the Hokage. After coming out of the Headquarter, Kenshin walked to the Hokage tower.

When he reached the receptionist, she quickly told him to see Hokage. This time he was not guided by any ninja.

After walking for a few minutes, he quickly reached Hokage's room.

"Hokage sama, you asked for me?", said Kenshin from outside of the door.

"Oh, Kenshin come inside. I have been expecting you".

"Greetings Hokage sama", Kenshin greeted him.

"Hahaha, don't need to be so stiff. You remember I said that when you finish your first mission, you will receive you will be promoted to a chunin", said Hokage.

"Yes sir", said Kenshin.

"So now I have promoted you to Chunin. And I expect you will do great things for our Village", said Hiruzen.

"Thank you Hokage sama", Kenshin just bowed and thanked Hiruzen for this.

"Okay, now tell me how was your first mission", said Hiruzen. Then Kenshin told everything that has happened.

"*sigh* Don't blame yourself and think too much about it. This is happening every where and we cannot completely finish it but we can always try to do something about it every time we see it", said Hiruzen.

"I understand Hokage sama", said Kenshin.

"Ok take this Headband and ask the man on the next room to give your Chunin uniform. Also you can take Mission from the counter below if you are not doing any Anbu Mission", said Hokage.

"Ok Hokage sama", as said Kenshin.

"Hokage sama, I have some suggestions about the paperwork and ways to reduce it", said Kenshin.

"Oh please tell me", Hiruzen said with a excited tone. Kenshin thought that Hokage must have been way too stressed due to this.

"What I thought was to divide the work. As there are many paperwork with secret information, you can always divide the work with trusted people", said Kenshin. As in his previous world there were always a Information Department for this.

Kenshin always thought how stupid it was to let the strongest person do all the paperwork like Elder councils and Assistant could help out in this process.

"Okay, I will think about it. Thank you for this suggestion", said Hiruzen. Kenshin just bowed again and left Hokage tower.

After that Kenshin moved to the next room to ask for Chunin uniform. After waiting for 30 minutes, he finally got one of his size. The man reminded him that next time you take the uniform, Kenshin will have to pay for it.

[A/N - It should be known that it is not mandatory for ninja's to wear it like many know anime characters]

After that Kenshin happily went back home. All the guilt that he have due to killing for the first time vanished due to consolation from his teammates, Commander and Hokage.

After walking for few minutes, he finally reached home.

"How was the mission honey", asked Kenshin's mother Minami.

"It was okay and I can't go into the mission but I have to kill somebody", said Kenshin while sighing.

Kenshin's mother didn't say anything and just gave him a hug.

"Mom, see this, I got promoted to a Chunin",said Kenshin while showing his Headband and uniform.

"Wow my son really is a genius. You are a chunin at only 7 years of age. You might be the youngest one", said Minami happily.

"No mother. My team leader in Anbu became Chunin at 6 years of age", said Kenshin.

"Wow, but it doesn't matter. I know my child is the best", said Minami while giving Kenshin a hug. Kenshin just smiled seeing his mother's antic.

"Okay today we will celebrate your promotion to a Chunin", said Minami.

"Yes mom, there is a new BBQ restaurant and also we can go to Ichiraku Ramen. I heard it was very good", said Kenshin.

"Okay, let's just wait for your father to come in the evening, then we will go there", said Minami.

In the evening when his father, Atsuchi came. Minami told him about Kenshin's promotion.

"Well done my son. I knew you are as talented as me", said Atsuchi laughingly.

"Don't jinx my son's talent", said Minami in an slightly angry tone.

Kenshin just laughed at their antics. After that Hayate family went to a BBQ restaurant. There Kenshin enjoyed the food. One thing that Kenshin have noticed is that the food is very delicious compared to previous world. Kenshin thought it was due to chakra which make every this delicious.

After enjoying the food at BBQ, his parents were full but Kenshin insisted to eat at Ichiraku Ramen. After walking for some tme they reached Ichiraku Ramen.

"Welcome, what would you like to have", said Ayame, daughter of Teuchi, the owner of Ichiraku Ramen. Kenshin's parents just looked at Kenshin and let him decide.

After thinking for some time, Kenshin said give me your shop's speciality.

"Okay, it will be served in a few moments", said Ayame.

After that Kenshin and his parents just sat down and talk and random stuff.

"You have become a ninja", said Ayame looking at Kenshin's Headband which has Konoha's symbol in it.

"Yes, I just got promoted to Chunin", said Kenshin.

"Wow congratulations and for this we will give you 20% discount", said Teuchi who was bringing the order.

"Thank you Boss", said Kenshin and his parents.

"Wow, it's amazing", said Kenshin after eating it. His parents just laughed at Kenshin's expression. They didn't have any such expression as they have already ate at this shop before.

After that they went home. Kenshin was just hoping to see the Naruto as he always comes here, but he didn't find him.
