Battle for Life

It was a different kind of feeling. Seeing figures twitching in the shadows, trying to get closer to him, Zeus couldn't help but fidget his lips. His body started getting hot and he unconsciously took a step forward, uncaring that an entire unit was rushing towards him.

The first ordeal came from above in the form of an uncountable number of weapons thrown at him. Zeus decided to store his chakra and retreated behind a tree. However, just when his back was placed against the tree trunk, Zeus felt a threat coming from behind. Twisting his neck, Zeus dodged the kunai and glanced up, seeing a human figure merged with the tree staring at him from above.

"Overlock, 25%." Zeus activated his skill, instantly slicing the man's head off with his Minato's gifted kunai. Blood spluttered from above, showering him from head to toe. His white hair sponged the redness, but Zeus cared little about it, as he exploded from the spot. Firstly, he needed to at the very least flee the encirclement.

Unfortunately, Root members weren't pushovers and immediately understood what he was trying to do. Fifteen people blocked his path, each of them hanging on the trees, looking like hunters waiting for their prey. Little did they know what was about to happen.

Zeus pushed chakra towards his hands, as lightning exploded from his palms. However, Zeus didn't stop there, forming and materializing the electricity into two gigantic unstable-looking nails. This was the skill that he had used against that red fox, and he had gotten much more efficient in using it since then.

"Know the wrath of thunder, you fuckers." Zeus threw them in opposite directions, where most of the shinobi were gathered. It was clear that they understood how hazardous this jutsu was, so they tried to escape away from it. Though, it was all futile. Zeus smiled and an earth-shattering explosion shook the entire place.

Blue color smeared the ever-lasting darkness, and Zeus closed his eye momentarily, forced by the aftermath of his own jutsu. When he opened his eyes again, half of the shinobi that were blocking the path were left unmoving on the ground. The other half was even more unfortunate, having received deadly injuries that would deem them useless in the upcoming battle.

Ignoring their shouts of pain, Zeus passed by with Overlock activated. No more shinobi blocked his path, and he finally had some freedom of movement. However, not for long, as he was forced to duck his head. A wind blade passed through just a few inches away from him, which traveled further and slit the tree in half.

With his speed momentarily decreased, Zeus was forced to go down from the tree. Immediately, he turned around, trying to see the enemy that has beaten him to speed. It was no one else than Danzo himself, who stood above Zeus, looming over him like an inescapable grim reaper.

It was just a moment that Zeus had halted his movement, yet he once again felt himself encircled. Zeus sighed, deciding to forget retreating, for they were clearly prepared for that. However, would they be prepared for Zeus straight-up attacking them?

A few fireballs flew out of the forest, aimed straight toward Zeus. He took a step back but was surprised to learn that a stone wall appeared from behind him. Before he even managed to change his body weight, walls cocooned him in each direction.

"Fuck." Zeus cursed under his breath when he understood that he couldn't move his legs in any way. Glancing down, Zeus saw hardened soil covering his feet. The heat from fireballs was growing closer, and tension increased. Chidori exploded from Zeus's hand, and the next moment all the walls shattered, creating an explosion.

All the Root members and Danzo stood unmoving in complete silence, waiting for Zeus to come out. However, instead of that, they heard a scream echo throughout the vicinity, as two heads flew into the air. Zeus stood on one branch, his entire body bloody and his left hand burned thoroughly.

"Overlock, 35%," Zeus said, pushing more chakra throughout his system, as he felt how fast his heart pumped his blood. This was the speed he had never achieved in the past, and Zeus was more than willing to test it out. He activated Chidori and exploded from the spot. His vision blurred and he appeared in the middle of three shinobi, killing them cleanly.

He had attained a speed unimaginable to others, and everyone was barely managing to react to his movements anymore. Danzo frowned at the sight of blue lightning passing through the forest rampant, as more and more heads fell onto the ground.

Zeus once again appeared in the middle of another group, but this time they were readied. A few hundred little insects obscured his vision, forcing him to lose track of the enemy's whereabouts. Feeling danger nearing him, Zeus promptly extended his hands and clapped, causing a shockwave to pass through the forest. All the insects were thrown off, revealing multiple kunai thrown at him.

Thinking that all the nearby shinobi were still stunned, Zeus ducked down, only to suddenly feel a sharp pain within his bondmen. Glancing down, Zeus frowned, seeing a blade come out from his body, his own blood splurting out like a river.

"Bastard." Zeus cursed, elbowing the blade and causing it to snap in half. Immediately, he turned around to see a masked man standing there, whom Zeus killed with Chidori immediately. A bunch of soil was stuffed in the man's ears, clearly in order to protect himself from Zeus's clap technique.

Zeus looked around, feeling weakness overwhelm him, as more and more blood rushed through the hole in his stomach. Placing his hand there, Zeus gritted his teeth and struck himself with lightning, as to close the wounds at the very least.

Chakra was depleting at a rapid pace, but the number of shinobi around him had clearly diminished. Even Danzo, who always had that cold face on his face, couldn't contain himself from frowning. Capturing Zeus proved much more difficult than anticipated.

"Finish him," Danzo stated as Zeus saw multiple wind blades flying toward him at a rapid pace. In the midst of traveling, they merged with boulders created by other ninjas. The ground beneath him once again softened, causing him to frown. These fucking bastards were clearly playing a long game and were producing organized attacks, slowly but surely exhausting Zeus.

He had to change that. Grinning, Zeus pushed an incredible amount of chakra toward his palms, creating and forming an enormous lightning nail. It was twice as big as the previous ones and had much more detail. The wind blades finally reached their destination, severing Zeus into multiple parts, only for him to puff into smoke.

The nail that Zeus had formed slowly traveled to the ground, and Danzo shouted loudly. "Retreat!!" His voice reverberated throughout the darkness, yet it was all too late. Blinding light painted the entire sky, as an explosion took over everything, dispatching all the nearby trees into oblivion.

Dust rose into the sky, and Danzo opened his eye, scanning over the surroundings. He frowned when he saw a bunch of bodies littering the ground, blood and gore splattered everywhere. The ones who escaped were barely able to keep standing, and the orchestrator of this was nowhere to be seen.

"Find that bastard as soon as possible!" Danzo shouted, his gaze falling onto one particular masked man, who promptly got down to business. Whilst they were searching for him, Zeus was traveling south from the explosion, passing through the trees at an enormous speed.

His chakra had completely depleted from the earlier attack, and he could barely keep Overlock active at 10%. Despite how humiliating it sounded, Zeus had to retreat today. All the villagers have probably already heard or seen their current battle, even if it was happening from so far away, yet no one had come yet. Something was fishy.

His guess turned out to be correct when he saw a huge orange wall obstructing his path of escape. It was intangible, yet seemed quite powerful. Gathering the last bits of chakra, Zeus created Chidori and tried to break through, only to be pushed away like a doll.

Frowning, Zeus stood up again, looking around, taking into account every detail, searching for a way to get out. Unfortunately, nothing came to mind. Furthermore, this wall seemed to be soundproof, or maybe even genjutsu based, making it impossible to know what was happening on the other side.

Zeus glanced into the sky, stretching his hand out. "If only the sky would be mine again, I would never even be in this situation." Zeus sighed but promptly got himself back together. Pushing all the remains of his chakra, every little bit of it, Zeus started creating something with his hands. At first, it was similar to a nail, but soon it became much more detailed, taking the shape of a flute.

Sweat fell down Zeus's brow as he focused entirely on creating this jutsu. However, just as he was about to complete it, Zeus felt a sharp pain from the side. Suddenly, his jutsu disintegrated into nothingness, and Zeus was pushed away like a leaf, his back pressed again the barrier.

He felt his ribs breaking and the skin decaying, the wind technique continuing to hold him in place. When it finally ceased, Zeus raised his head to see over ten Root members standing there, each of them containing some type of injury.

Dazno stood a bit further away, staring at Zeus with both shock and disdain. Sighing, Zeus grabbed onto his willpower, standing up. The masked men clearly understood that Zeus had turned completely defenseless, so they rushed forward and attacked him with taijutsu.

However, Zeus knew better than to give up. Roaring, Zeus pushed himself forward, punching a masked man in the head and sending him flying away. In return, Zeus received a slash in the back, but he ignored it, turning around and kicking the man in the head. A few shuriken's landed on his shoulder, hitting a nerve, deeming his left hand useless.

Zeus grabbed Minato's kunai, ducking and severing a man's neck, while himself receiving a punch in the head. He fell to the ground, feeling blood on his face, but stood up immediately. His knees shuttered and his eyes shone with rage. Scanning the surroundings, Zeus smiled crazily and raised his hands. "Come at me with all you got!"

The battle ensued in a stalemate, with Zeus not falling down despite his entire body beaming with injuries. He had also lost control of his right hand, yet he kept going with just his legs. When a masked man penetrated his leg with a sword, Zeus moved his head like lightning and bit into the man's inlet, ultimately killing him.

Blood and bodies littered the ground, with Zeus not giving up. He once again rushed forward, a kunai in his mouth. He evaded an attack from a man, instead speeding towards Danzo while shouting. However, just when he was about to reach him, Zeus lost his vision. Everything happened abruptly and instantly, as his face collided with the ground, leaving him unconscious.

"Freaking monster," Danzo mumbled to himself, his eyes moving over the surroundings before falling back down on Zeus's bloody body. To think that a 7-year-old was capable of killing almost an entire Root unit was ridiculous. This kid was so dangerous that Danzo started having doubts regarding the deal he had made yesterday.

Danzo didn't even think that the First Hokage had been as powerful as Zeus during his youth. If such a monster was left alone to grow for a few more years, then Danzo feared that the outcome of this battle could have been much different.

"Orochimaru...I don't think we will be able to complete this deal." Danzo mumbled. After this battle, Danzo no longer felt like the deal was appropriate. Instead, Danzo was overwhelmed with fear that Zeus might prevail and seek revenge. Grabbing a kunai from his pocket, Danzo put his weight behind it and forced it down.

However, just when it was about to collide with Zeus's unmoving body, Danzo felt a hand land on his shoulder. Instantly, he stopped moving, feeling danger emanating from behind. Turning around, Danzo made eye contact with snake-like eyes.

"Don't touch my treasure," Orochimaru mumbled, his tongue hanging from his mouth.
