Venom?

Chapter 23

Xavier soon found that he was jumping the gun. He had tried to bring up implanting the neural connection, but Peter was adamant in the fact that they had just made the first model and more testing was to be done.

'I should have expected this. But it's not like it will be too long before the testing will be done. In the meantime, Xavier could go and capture the newly found symbiote. To do that though, he'd have to prepare some things.

To capture a symbiote, Xavier would need at least two things: Some sort of sound based device as well as a container to capture it inside of. The container was easy, seeing as the boys had a lot of lab equipment lying around. He soon found an airtight container half the size of his forearm.

As for the sound device? Xavier straight up bought a sound device off of the system shop and built it. That's because he had never studied how to make a sound device, especially one so strong while being the size of his palm.

To be safe, he ended up making five of the sound bombs. When armed and on impact with something, they let out a very loud sound akin to that of a high pitch guitar riff. Now with everything ready, it was around noon. Xavier turned to where Peter was making very thorough tests on the neural link.

"I found something interesting that I want to check up on. Should be back in an hour if I don't run into any problems."

Peter didn't even bother looking up from the screen. "Okay, bring back some lunch will you?"

"Chinese?"

"General Tso's."

Again forgive me for my limited knowledge of New York's layout.

Using the spider bot that he had put on the man that was hosting the symbiote, Xavier was soon led to an old apartment building in downtown Queens. Standing in his civilian clothes, Xavier began to debate on how he could get inside the apartment un-seen. It was up on the third floor, which was nothing of a challenging height, but it was broad daylight right now and even his shadow cloak wouldn't help much.

'Mabey Weaver's Spider-Man will make a daylight debut today.' He decided to walk over to the small alleyway that held the garbage cans for the apartments. He ducked behind the cans, and when he was sure no one would see, he activated his suit. In less than a second, an almost all black spider-man was standing in the alley where Xavier Parker just was.

Xavier didn't waste any time and began to scale the side of the building, using his HUD to guide him to the correct apartment. Luckily, there was a window that connected right to it on that side of the building. Looking inside, he couldn't see the man anywhere, so he slid the window open. From there he slinked inside the window and looked around for the man.

It was a small apartment that held no more than four rooms. In front of Xavier was a doorway out of the room he was in and into a cramped hallway. The hallway led in two different directions. To the right was the living room and the entrance- no one was in there so he moved on to the other way. Down the hallway was the empty bathroom and finally the bedroom.

The door was cracked open and it was quiet inside. Xavier stopped himself from opening the door and focused his hearing to see if the man was inside or not. At first, he heard nothing, but soon enough he could hear really faint breaths coming from the room. From how light they were, he could interpret it as the man being sound asleep.

Being incredibly careful to open the door quietly so as to not wake him, Xavier opened the door. Inside, he could see the man asleep on the bed, and something a bit more freaky. On the bed, the man was almost completely enveloped in a black symbiote with only his face showing through.

'JACKPOT!'

Now he only needed to stun Venom with a sound bomb and act as fast as he could to get it into the container. But as Xavier got closer, he noticed something that concerned him. Both the man and Venom looked weak. The man's face was extremely pale and sweaty and Xavier could now tell that his breathing was so weak because he was close to death.

The symbiote on the other hand was harder to tell, but it was moving as if it was lethargic. That could be blamed on the state of its host but that's not what concerned him. 'The draining of nutrition shouldn't have gone this far in the first place. That would mean that Venom was weak when it found its host- Extremely weak… I'm fresh and completely healthy so..'

Xavier made an impulsive decision on the spot and reached out his hand towards Venom. He figured that he could save the symbiote and the man, but only as a temporary measure. As soon as he touched the surface of the symbiote, he felt a small prick on his hand. A moment later and the symbiote began to slowly move into him, enveloping him before sinking beneath his skin.

"That… was weird." A shiver went down his spine at the thought of becoming like the man in front of him, but he put that thought away. He quickly checked his pulse to find that while still unstable, it would stay that way for a bit longer before the danger starts. He quickly checked around for his wallet and looked at the ID.

"John Wilson? Not Eddie Brock? What's happening here?" A groan from John woke him from his stupor.

Xavier carefully picked him up and draped him over his shoulder. "Hang on John, You'll be okay."

Being super careful to not hurt him in any way, Xavier took John to the nearest hospital to help him. When he arrived, he ran inside and laid him out on an empty examination table that was set aside for emergencies. Seeing this, many of the nurses and doctors were scared that a masked man had rushed in so fast carrying someone with him. Most thought that he was one of the new villains that were becoming more frequent recently, but there was one brave nurse that rushed towards them after a moment's hesitation.

"What's wrong with him?" She asked, checking his pulse.

"I found him in his bedroom and he was extremely weak. His breaths are shallow and I believe that his body's in shock. Possibly a lack of nutrients." He quickly responded, giving a hint along the way.

"All right back away, we'll take it from here. Go to the desk and leave your number so we can contact you." She took charge and soon the other people around them unfroze and began to help her, taking him into one of the nearby rooms.

Xavier did as she said and left his Weaver line, which was untraceable due to his recent developments. He had looped the signal around multiple radio towers all around New York so it wasn't traceable. After that, He left as soon as he could because people had begun to bring out their phones and take pictures.

Xavier quickly found a nearby alley he could duck into and take off his suit. Luckily, it seemed the symbiote inside him was much too tired to assimilate with the suit, so he had no problems there. Now that he had a moment to think he also noticed that he felt no different.

'Maybe that was because it's so tired.' He thought. Either way he took the train so he could get back to the Den as soon as possible to test himself out. He didn't want to end up like John and he had no idea why that had happened in the first place so he was worried. Justifiably.
