Soul eater Vs Centipede

CRASH!

The centipede struck, leaving a large crater were Liam was standing moments ago.

Liam however was high up in the air as he surprised himself with how high he could jump now.

CLASH

He landed on the centipede stabbing the opening between its hard exoskeletal plates!

SKREE...!

The centipede cried out as it swung its body around viscously, trying to get Liam off it. But he held on a little longer, burying his sword deeper into its back before loosing his grip on his sword.

SLAM!

Liam flew into the wall leaving spider web like crater on it. He felt his ribs break as well as tingle as they slowly repaired themselves.

The centipede had recovered from the pain and was heading towards liam fast, crashing threw the crystal spike at the center of the well.

Liam was now without his sword, leaving him defenceless, making him a sitting duck!

"Um... System?! Now would be a great time to help!" Liam said feeling desperate.

[System unable to fulfill request. Host would have to f use its own strength and skills to defeat malicious entity]

"Oh great...! Um..., lets see..., body manipulation!" Liam shouted, remembering one of the skills he had seen on his status window earlier! In an instant Liam felt a flood of knowledge about the skill he had just activated flow into him as muscles on his lower body strengthened as layer upon layer of muscle fibre was add to them!

BOOM

Liam dashed threw the air with blazing speed, arriving behind the centipede, then using his dimensional storage ring, he stored a large fragment from the crystal spike that was now laying on the ground in many pieces.

CRASH!

The centipede crashed head first the wall before he noticed it's prey had once again escaped its attack.

Skreee...!

The monster screamed in annoyance as he looked towards Liam who once again jumped into the air but only the time a lot higher!

Liam put on a wicked smile as spotted the injury he had inflicted on the monster's back earlier from a bird's eye view. "Time to die you overgrown bug" Liam said releasing the spike from the dimensional storage ring right above the injury. He strengthened his right leg even more with body manipulation before delivering a tremendous kick sending the spike at his target at an amazing speed!

CLASH

The spike stabbed right through the centipede. Liam landed on its base with all his might driving it through it even more.

BOOM!

The centipede fell, as it died quietly under Liam's feet. Liam then noticed his legs going back to normal as the body manipulation skill deactivated.

Liam was astounded as he saw the centipede's shadow being ripped out from under it's corpse and deposited itself in his hand in the form of a small black flame.

"Shadow points?"said Liam as he remembered it from when he saw his status. "What are those?" he asked.

[Shadow points could be used to increase base stats of host]

[Depending on the strength of the soul and the intensity of its negative emotions more shadow points could be rewarded]

"And what are the effects of consuming the soul instead of converting it to shadow points" Liam asked as he couldn't help but feed his curiosity.

[Consuming souls increases vitality, with a chance of gaining abilities from the the owner if the soul]

"Amazing!" Liam said not being able to contain his excitement about the power he had just gained. With enough work it be more than sufficient to take down his bastard uncle Lucius.

Although Lucius was a Magus, he was one that focused mostly on research and his combat magic was not as refined as that of those on his level.

"Consume soul" Liam commanded with a thought. The flame arose floating mid air.

FLASH!

It collided with Liam's chest, engulfing him with black flames. Yet the flames did not hurt or burn his clothes like he was expecting.

Liam smiled wildly as he enjoyed the feeling of power coursing through his veins.

"It seems like I learn about the skills upon their first activation" Liam thought remembering his experience when he activated body manipulation for the first time.

"Hmm..." Liam said as he analysed his status. "System, How do I increase the values next to the skills and more importantly what are they?" He asked.

"Well that should be enough" Liam said, dismissing the Status window with a thought.

"These crystals look precious" Liam thought to himself as he looked at the numerous pieces of the spike he had used to slay the centipede.

"I should take some, they seem to be in abbondance here" he said while looking at the walls, noticing a lot more of the crystals.

"I should take the corpse of the centipede as well, the exoskeleton would make excellent armour and the pincers would make especially good blades" he said pointing his dimensional storage ring at the corpse as well as the crystals, storing them.

The dimensional storage could not hold living things but the centipede was long dead.

"Now to leave this bloody shit hole, body modification!" Liam thought, strengthening his upper body by increasing its muscle mass as he climbed what little crevasses he could find.

After several hours of climbing and resting in between Liam had finally made it.

Finally...! Liam shouted, smiling as he enjoyed the feeling of sunlight on his skin.
