Glimmer of Hope
With the Stealth Craft destroyed, the one and only way out of this planet for David was now severed. The only thing that he had now was the backpack and the laser guns that he was carrying. Everything else, including the data that he had collected and recorded till now, went up in the smoke along with the Stealth Craft.
David's heart rate started to elevate and he began feeling lightheaded thinking that he had failed to complete the mission that he had been entrusted by the General himself. "What have I done... How am I supposed to return back now? I failed everyone. I failed all of those who were depending on me..."
He felt like beating himself up into pulp. He was extremely frustrated with himself. Rather than the fear of not being able to return to Celine, the guilt of not being able to complete the mission was starting to weigh him down.
