Chapter 9 Kidnapped

" If you know what's good for you, you better leave before my grandmother and dad come home. " Zick said pointing at the door.`"` Don't worry, I will never make the mistake of missing you, you are just an old hag that suffocates people, now get out of here. "

" I will leave, " Mellisa said, she turned around, her eyes welling with tears as she made her way to the door. She had been foolish to think that Zick would ever care for her, that he would ever see her as anything more than an old hag. She had been foolish to think that he could ever love her.

With a heavy heart and tears streaming down her face, Mellisa opened the door and stepped outside. She was determined to never make the mistake of believing in someone again.

"Oh My gosh!!!! Is she gone for real or am I dreaming??? " Liala exclaimed happily as she looked at the door where Mellisa walked out. She was so relieved that her son would finally get to breathe again.

Zick chuckled, watching his mother spinning around the room like a small kid. "Mom, you will hurt yourself." He then pulled his girlfriend, Liana, closer in his embrace. "Now, pay attention to your future daughter-in-law. She is Liana, my girlfriend. We've been dating for a long time and soon we will get married."

Liana smiled sweetly at Liala. "Nice to meet you ma'am. I've heard a lot about you from Zick, and I'm a big fan of yours. I like your style of dressing ."

"Oww!!!!! You are so sweet, I like you already." Laila's eyes twinkled with happiness. " Come on, let's go and have a seat so that you can tell me more about yourself." Laila walked towards them and took Lana's hand leading her to the couch.

The sun continued its journey across the sky, sinking slowly below the horizon. The golden light of the day began to fade, replaced by the stars of the night. As the sun set, the sky was painted in brilliant orange and pink hues, the colors of the sunset reflecting off the clouds. Mellisa kept on walking on the highway without knowing where she was going, she had no way to go after all, she was already shivering because of the cold wind that was hitting her skin.

She hugged herself tightly, trying to keep warm, and wished she had brought a heavier coat. She could feel the chill of the wind on her skin and it made her even colder. Mellisa felt her heart racing as she shivered in fear when she heard the noise coming from the other side of the road. She gasped in shock when she saw three guys trying to shove a young girl into their car. Suddenly, everything around her seemed to move in slow motion as she watched, paralyzed with fear. Her breath came in shallow rasps, her skin crawling with terror as she watched the unfolding scene. She was too scared to move, too scared to intervene. But she knew that she can't let them get away and kidnap such a Young girl, putting on a brave face, she ran toward them, to help the Young girl.

"Please let go of me," The girl cried as she try to struggle out of their strong clench. "Once my father finds you all, he is going to make you pay for this."

"Haha!!! It's a pity that your father is not going to find out that it was us who killed you." The leader of the kidnappers said with a smirk. "Put her in the car now, we have to finish this mission before our Lady boss calls us.

" Boss, as you can see, this girl is so stubborn, " the other members of the Gang said." How do you expect us to put her in the car when you are just standing there with no action??"

" I'm not coming with you anyway, "the girl said,'' My dad will be here soon. He will teach all of you a good lesson that you will never forget I'm telling you. "The girl said stubbornly.

The other Gang member you wanted to put her in the car raised his hand to slap her.

" Stop!!!!!! "Mellisa yelled. The kidnappers stopped in their tracks as Melissa bravely walked towards them. "What do you think you are doing so late at night?" She asked sternly. "How dare you kidnap such a young, innocent girl? Let her go right now!"

The leader of the kidnappers sneered. "You think you can stop us? We are not afraid of you or anyone else here. We will do as we please." He grabbed the girl's arm and tried to drag her away.

But Melissa stepped in front of him, blocking his path. "No!" She said firmly. "You will not take her. I will not let you."

The leader of the kidnappers looked taken aback but he grabbed Mellisa's hand and pushed her to the other Gang members as they held her hands tightly not letting her go. "You are brave," he said, "but do not think you can stop us." Take her in the car too. "

" Let me go, " Mellisa yelled, trying to struggle out of their grip but they were too strong for her." I will not let you get away with this, I've called the police and they are on their way already." She lied.

Hearing the mention of the police, the gang members didn't waste any time. They shoved both Mellisa and the young girl Linda into the car and sped away. Knowing there was no way for them to escape, Mellisa and Linda stopped struggling and resigned themselves to the gang's control.

.... At the Williams house

Shina stumbled into the house, panting hard. Tears were streaming down her face as she recounted the events of the evening to her father, Maxwell. "Dad, they took Linda away with them! Those men were waiting for us outside the mall after we had finished shopping. I think they were looking for me, so I ran away and left Linda behind."

Maxwell was furious. "Shina, how could you be so irresponsible? You are Linda's older sister and you choose to run for your own life and leave her behind? I am so disappointed in you."

Shina was heartbroken and apologised profusely. "I'm sorry, Dad. I was so scared when I saw them holding guns. I didn't think of anything else other than running for my dear life."

Without another word, Maxwell grabbed his keys and left the house. Luckily, he was able to trace Linda's whereabouts because of the necklace she had been wearing. He quickly got into the car and drove off, determined to rescue his daughter...
