Chapter 10 Left to die alone

The car finally halted in front of an old restaurant, and the Gang of Kidnappers dragged Mellisa Linda inside the old restaurant. The restaurant was a decrepit building, with paint peeling from the walls and the windows covered in dust. The tables were stained and the chairs were sagging. The floor was a patchwork of linoleum, with cracks and chips in the tiles that had been there for years. The kitchen was a disaster, the appliances caked with grease and the sink overflowing with dirty dishes. The air was thick with the smell of stale cooking and mold.

"Well!! Well!! Well…. We are here." The leader of the Gang smirked. "Please send my greetings to God when you reach heaven."

"What are you going to do to us?" Milissa asked, she did not care about dying but she was concerned about Linda who was shaking in fear. " Are you that bornless that you'd kill a woman… I mean we are no less than your mother, she is a woman who brought you on this earth, so it means you must respect all women on this earth because we are no less than your mother."

" Shut up!!!" The Gang leader glared at Mellisa with a smirk on his lips." Do you think that your lecture will change my mind, you shouldn't have interfered in my business. Now you are going to die and no one will save the both of you. Right now we are out of town and this restaurant is dumped and old Noone will think of coming here, so may your souls rest in peace. "

" My soul will surely rest in peace, " Mellisa said nonchalantly." But if anything happens to this girl, I promise to hunt your soul and make your life miserable. After that, I will give all of you a very painful death that you never imagined. "

The kidnapper burst into laughter hearing the ridiculous demands that Mellisa was making.

" You are crazy, unfortunately, I don't have time to entertain your craziness. " The leader of the Gang said." Go and lock them in the fridge room, make sure that none of them will be able to escape, the two of them should die." The Gang leader instructed.

Linda's eyes widened in horror as she realized the magnitude of the situation." Sir, please spare us ...." Linda stammered her lips and chin trembling." My father is very rich he Will give you a lot of money if you spare us. I'm begging you , sir, I can't die at such a young age. Please, I beg of you to spare our lives."

The leader of the gang held a stern and unyielding expression in his eye, conveying a feeling of unwavering determination. His gaze was hard and unyielding and showed no signs of sympathy or mercy."Take them away right now." He yelled.

" "Please don't kill us, we have done nothing wrong," Linda pleaded as tears streamed down her face. The men didn't seem to be listening and the fear of the unknown made her heart beat faster.

"Please, I'm begging you, show mercy," Linda said, her voice trembling as she looked into the eyes of the men. She had seen the coldness in their eyes and it made her stomach churn.

The men remained silent, their faces expressionless as they dragged the two women closer to the storage fridge.

Linda continued to beg for mercy, but the men seemed to be ignoring her. A sob escaped her lips as she looked desperately to Melissa for help.

Mellisa let out a long sigh and said firmly, "I implore you to reconsider. We are not criminals, and we are not a threat to anyone. Please, let us go."

The men looked at Melissa and then back at Linda, but still, they said nothing and kept on dragging them to the fridge storage. Reaching there, they pushed both Mellisa and Linda inside the storage fridge and locked the door.

The kidnapper left after making sure that Melissa and Linda were trapped in the storage.

" Hey, don't worry. " I will find a way to get us." Mellisa wrapped her arms around Linda and held her close, trying to give her warmth and comfort. " Don't cry, I won't let anything happen to you okay.?"

Linda kept on sobbing in Melissa's arms, she had no hopes left. She felt so haunted to be facing her date of death.

Mellisa's eyes looked around the storage room, but she was unable to see a way out. ' God please help me find a way to let her out of here, I can't let her die at such a young age, take my life instead of this poor girl. 'Melissa prayed in her mind.

Mellisa's eyes scanned the storage room, She noticed a few cobwebs tucked away in the corners and the faint smell of musty cardboard. Her eyes lit up when she saw a small window on one side, letting in a stream of moonlight that illuminated the otherwise dimly-lit space. "Hey!! look." Mellisa pointed at the small window excitedly. " I will get us out of here. "

Linda looked up, wiping tears off her face, "We will not die!!! " She exclaimed as a big smile stretches across her cheeks. " Come on, let's go and check. " She grabbed Mellisa's hands as she made her way toward the window.

Both of them looked at the window, it was so small one of them had to open and hold it for one to go out and the other won't be able to go out without anyone opening the window. Which means one of them could not go out if left alone. Tears filled Linda's eyes as she looked at Melissa and said, "If I go out, then you won't be able to. And if you go out then I won't be able to go out, what do we do? I don't want to leave you alone here."

Mellisa let out a long deep sigh and with a heavy heart, she looked into Linda's eyes and smiled. "You will go out. It doesn't matter if I die, but you are still young and you have a bright future ahead of you, so you must live on."

Linda shook her head in disagreement, "No no no!!!! It was because of me that you are here. We would rather stay here and die together,"

Mellisa tightened her grip on Linda's shoulders and said, "Look if you go out then you can contact your family, to come and help us. But I have no one to call if I go out. Please don't be stubborn and go "

" Okay, I will make a plan to contract my dad. " Linda finally agreed.

Mellisa watched as Linda stepped out of the window, her eyes filled with tears. She knew this was Linda's last chance at a better life, and she had to take it. Linda's hands were trembling as she held onto the windowsill, the cold air of the winter night biting at her skin.

Mellisa stepped forward, her heart heavy with emotion as she embraced Linda tightly. She wanted to tell Linda that everything was going to be okay, but she couldn't find the words. All she could do was hold her close and pray that things would work out for her.

Finally, Linda let go, tears streaming down her face. She looked at Mellisa, her voice barely above a whisper. "Thank you," she said. "Thank you for believing in me, and for giving me this chance."

Mellisa nodded, her throat too tight to speak. She watched as Linda climbed out of the window, and slipped into the next room. She knew that Linda was going to try to contact her father, and she hoped against hope that he would help her.

Mellisa stood in the window, her eyes stinging with tears. She had done all she could. Now all she could do was wait until she freeze to death..
