Chapter 57 Went for a vacation

Maxwell's face tightened and heat flushed through his body, causing his muscles to quiver. He rose off the bed and knelt in front of Melissa, taking her hands into his. "Melissa," Maxwell called out softly, trying to hold back his anger. But Melissa looked away, her eyes shining with tears.

"Melissa, I don't love Tina any more. We separated 5 years ago and spent another 5 years without seeing each other, which makes it 10 years. I have fallen in love with you and I want to have you in my life, not Tina," Maxwell said. "I know that Tina will try her tricks to get me back, but I will do everything in my power to stop her. Please don't doubt me because of her presence.

Melissa bit her lip, trying to hold back her tears. She could feel her insides quivering with anxiety. She knew that Tina would do anything in her power to get Maxwell back, and she didn't want to find herself caught in the middle.

"Maxwell, I'm sorry. It's not that I don't trust you, but it's your gender that I don't trust," Melissa said, holding back her tears. "I don't want any trouble in my life because of your past and Tina. I hope you understand what I'm saying."

"I understand, Melissa. But trust me, okay? I will never betray you. I know that Tina will do everything in her power to cause doubts between us, but please don't trust her or her words," Maxwell said, rubbing Melissa's hands on the back.

"I-I," Melissa stammered, trying to find the right words to say, but nothing came out.

"Don't worry, Melissa. Our helicopter is ready. We should go now," Maxwell said.

"I need to pack up my clothes and everything that I need. Please give me a few minutes," Melissa said.

Maxwell rose off the floor and pulled Melissa up with him, holding her hand. "Let's go. I'm not going to let you do any packing because you might change your mind," Maxwell said. He started to walk out of the room with Melissa behind him, who shook her head in disbelief.

They both reached outside, Maxwell and Mellisa waited on the tarmac beside the sleek black helicopter, as the rotors whirled above them, creating a deafening cacophony. Maxwell gave Mellisa earplugs, and they put on their headsets, strapping themselves into the seats as the engines roared.

As soon as they lifted off the ground, Mellisa's heart soared. It was the second time she was in a helicopter, and the exhilaration of the experience was almost too much to handle. Maxwell noticed her excitement and couldn't help but smile.

"Second time in the helicopter huh? " he asked, his voice raised above the noise of the engine.

Mellisa shook her head, grinning from ear to ear. "This is incredible!" she shouted back.

Maxwell chuckled, his eyes locked on the controls. "Wait until you see my apartment," he replied. "It's even more incredible."

Through the windows, Mellisa watched as the city disappeared beneath them, replaced by the fields and forests that stretched out into the distance. The helicopter weaved its way between towering skyscrapers and over sprawling parks, giving Mellisa a stunning bird's-eye view of the world below.

As they approached a sleek grey building, Maxwell guided the helicopter toward the rooftop pad. Mellisa could see a small landing site up ahead, and her heart pounded with excitement as they drew closer.

The helicopter gently touched down on the landing pad, and as the rotors slowed, Maxwell and Mellisa took off their headsets and unstrapped themselves from their seats. They climbed out of the helicopter, and as Mellisa stood beside him, she couldn't help but feel awed by the view.

From the top of the building, they could see the entire city spread out before them, glittering like a million stars in the night. Mellisa gasped in wonder as she took in the sweeping views, feeling like she was on top of the world.

Maxwell put his arm around her shoulders, and together they walked towards the entrance of the building, ready to explore the rest of his incredible apartment. As the elevator doors closed behind them, Mellisa knew that she was in for an adventure she would never forget.

.....

Tina was pacing around the room, looking worried. "What could I have done?" she asked Zick, who was lounging on the bed. "We can still go ahead with our plan, and when they come back, we'll ruin their hopes and dreams. Melissa will come back to you, and I'll have Maxwell all to myself. Don't you think so?" she said with a sly grin, tracing Zick's jawline with her fingers.

Zick chuckled, pulling Tina closer to him. "You're such a devil," he said. "So you wanted them to spend time together just so we could tear them apart?"

"Why not?" Tina replied with a smirk. "Yesterday was amazing, and I want to do it again."

Zick didn't need any more encouragement. He kissed Tina passionately, and they fell into a frenzy of desire.

...…

Upon arriving at the hotel, Mike and Michelle made their way inside. "Good morning ma'am and sir." The receptionist greeted them with a warm smile and kindly handed them the card for their apartment.

"Thank you so much," Mark replied with gratitude. He then turned to Michelle and flashed a smile. "Shall we go?" he asked. Michelle returned the smile and followed Mark towards the elevator.

Once they arrived at their apartment, Michelle immediately threw her bags on the couch and collapsed them onto them. "I'm so exhausted," she groaned. "I don't think I can make it to the meeting today."

Mark chuckled at Michelle's tiredness. "I understand how you feel, but we really need to attend the meeting. Mr. Maxwell's company is at risk, and we can't afford to let him down."

Michelle let out a sigh and slowly got up from the couch. "You're right," she said. "We can't let him down. And we're already running late."

Mark nodded in agreement. "Let's get going then. Put your bags in your room, and we'll leave in 30 minutes. You can rest when we get back."
