Chapter 56
"What's your plan to kick Mellisa out?" Shina's voice boomed through the room. Tina's attention was drawn to the stairs where Shina was descending. She had just come to checked if Mellisa and Maxwell had gone to bed. That's when she overheard Tina's plan to evict Mellisa.
Tina chuckled sarcastically as Shina approached her, "What if I told you, what will I do huh?"
Shina shot Tina a cold glare, "There are a lot of things I can do to you, Tina." Shina said. "If Mellisa gets hurt because of you, mark my words, you'll regret the day you were born. You may be crazy, but I'm crazier than you. You don't know what I'm capable of. If you have the guts, try me and you'll find out."
Shina left the room, leaving Tina astonished. But she was not going to go back on her plan because of Shina.

"Melissa, let's get to know each other," Maxwell said softly, rubbing Melissa's hair as her head rested on his chest.
Melissa could feel butterflies fluttering in her stomach and her heart pounding. What was happening between her and Maxwell? Did she really want to move on with him? Was he trustworthy, unlike Zick? Would he ever betray her and abuse her like Zick did? The answer was no. She had been with Maxwell for a month, and he had taken good care of her and done everything in his power to make her forget Zick. So, didn't he deserve a chance? The answer was yes. "I---I also want to know you better," Melissa stammered softly.
A heat radiated through Maxwell's chest, feeling lightness in his limbs. He was happy that Melissa was opening up to him. "Let's go on a vacation, just me and you and our babies. Without anyone disturbing us or any stresses, just us."
"But I still have to finish making Patty's wedding dress," Melissa said softly.
"You've already made the draft of the dress, right?" Maxwell asked, and Melissa nodded her head. "It's fine then. I will ask my workers to sew the dress if that's okay with you."
"Okay then, I have no problem. The most important thing is that I have designed the dress," Melissa said with a small smile.
Maxwell's eyes sparkled and gleamed, his pulse quickened with excitement. He couldn't believe that Melissa was really determined to move on with him, and he couldn't wait to go on vacation with her. "Thank you, Melissa, for this chance. I promise to make you happy every day," Maxwell said happily. "Let's go home now. I can't wait for tomorrow to arrive."
Melissa flashed a small smile and said nothing.
... The next day….
Everyone was already gathered for breakfast except for Michelle who left early in the morning with Mark as Maxwell instructed. Everyone ate their breakfast quietly.
"Shina," Maxwell called out, breaking the silence. "Melissa and I are going on vacation for a few days. Please take care of your baby sister."
Shina's eyes lit up. "Oh wow! Daddy, I'm so happy for you guys. Don't worry, I will take care of Linda. Go and enjoy yourselves," Shina said with a bright smile.
"Thank you, Shina," Maxwell said, turning his attention to Tina, who had a sour expression on her face. "If you mistreat my daughters in my absence, then you will face my wrath when I come back," Maxwell said coldly.
"Maxwell, mind your tongue, okay?" Tina said angrily. "You have no right to talk to me like that. This house also belongs to me, and I will do as I please here. There's nothing you can do to me, okay?" Tina became angry hearing Maxwell talking about going on vacation with Melissa. She was working hard to be with him, but he did not give a damn about her.
Before Maxwell could say anything, Melissa spoke up. "This is your house, you say? Please tell me, how much money did you contribute to building this house? Do you know how much one brick costs at the market?" Melissa asked coldly. "If anything happens to Shina and Linda in my absence, then get ready to pack your bags and leave from here."
Tina's expression tightened, her face turned red, her pulse speeding, and her heart pounding in anger. "How dare you threaten me like this?" Tina grittedYoi her teeth angrily. "Who are you to chase me out of my house?"
Melissa sneered. "I'm sure you have forgotten. Let me refresh your memory," Melissa said, her tone cold. "I'm the lady of this house. Henceforth, Linda and Shina are like my kids, and if anyone dares to bully my kids in their father's house, then I won't hesitate to throw that person out of this house. I will do anything to protect them like a mother should do.
Tina's face turned red with anger and her muscles began to quiver. It was embarrassing to be humiliated by someone like Mellisa in front of Maxwell. Tina couldn't take it anymore. "You won't do anything to me when Maxwell is around. I know he still loves me and won't let you do anything to me," she said.
Mellisa glared at Tina, her eyes burning with anger. "If you dare to hurt these two, I will show you a side of me that no one has ever seen before. I'm sure you don't want to be the first person to experience my wrath," Mellisa said before storming out of the dining room.
Tina clenched her fist and gritted her teeth in anger. 'I'll show you where you truly belong. Just wait and watch,' she thought to herself." Maxwell, how can you let her humiliate me in this manner?? "
"She served you right. You heard her. She is the lady of the house," Maxwell said, his tone full of light sarcasm. "If you want to stay in this house, better behave yourself because I will never defend a spineless person like you, not even in my dreams." Maxwell rose from the chair and left.
"I told you before, stop this nonsense of yours or else you will regret it," Shina said, rising from the table and leaving with Linda.
"Why is everyone like this? How will Maxwell fall into my trap if they talk too much like this? I will have to change my plans soon, I will teach these to brats a lesson they will naver forget " Tina murmured angrily.

After leaving the dining table, Maxwell went straight to Melissa's room to help her pack her bag. Upon reaching there, he found Melissa sitting on her bed with no action of packing her bags. He walked towards the bed and sat next to her. "Melissa, why aren't you packing yet?" Maxwell asked softly.
Melissa narrowed her eyes glaringly at Maxwell. "I don't want to go anymore," Melissa said with a flat tone.
Maxwell raised his eyebrows in confusion."Why Mellisa, I thought you said you wanted us to get to know each other better and move on from the past? Then what happened all of a sudden??"
"Maxwell, how do you think I will be able to do that?" Melissa asked angrily. "You must fix things with your ex-wife because it is clear as the sky that she wants you back and that she is going to do anything to have you back. I don't want to be in the middle of your drama because I've heard enough of drama in my life already. I suggest you get back together with her and leave me alone."
