What is the Thing?

Harold was laughing and was having fun with us. When we were having fun a nurse comes to us with some documents and said us to sign the papers.

I take a look at the papers and signed them. Well, it's just the discharge paper.

Harold is getting discharged today so that's why the nurse wanted our signatures on the papers.

After signing the papers I helped him to get up from the bed and was going to leave the room but suddenly he asked me about Gilbert.

"Where is our leader?" he asked. I looked down and said, "he is busy with something that's why he couldn't come even though he was looking forward to it".

He showed me an 'It's Okay' smile and said: "He is a busy man and moreover he is the heir of the Adolescent family so I guess he has no time for a person like me who has been disowned by his family".

His words kinda hurt my heart. No one has the right to kick out a member of the family just because he doesn't possess any mana, but I can't do anything about it with my current power and authority, I need to get stronger to make this world more beautiful than it is now.

Lara and the other ladies were packing Harold's stuff but when they heard Harold's words, they left the stuff there and came to Harold.

First, Trivut lowered his head and said "I apologize on behalf of Gilbert, please forgive him for not making it to here, he didn't mean to insult you or show you how inferior you are so please don't hold any grudge toward him".

Lara and Quinella also agreed with her and nodded their head. After hearing Trivut's words Harold put his hand together and apologized to everyone.

We were shocked to see him apologizing cause there was only one thing going on in our heads "Why is he apologizing to us when he did nothing wrong?"

But he cleared our question, he said: "I was just joking and was messing with you guys, I just wanted to see how you guys would react after hearing those depressing words from my mouth, I didn't expected to see you guys become this serious anyway it was my fault so please forgive me".

The atmosphere suddenly become awkward for everyone so everyone looked away and went to pack Harold's stuff and I hold him and helped him to walk away.

He was able to leave the room cause of my help but he didn't want to me give any more trouble so he stopped a carriage and went to his home, I tried to stop him but he didn't listen to me.

The ladies appeared before me with his luggage after a while he left and asked me "Where is Harold?"

I said, "He left on his own". But for some reason, they snapped at me and said "How could you let him go in this situation?"

I tried my best to tell them that he was feeling sad after telling those words but they weren't ready to listen to my words.

So this time I snapped and shouted at them by saying " It's your fault guys that he got sad, when he asked for our forgiveness why did you all just look away and left from there without telling him anything".

They realized their fault and were ashamed of their deeds. After looking at their sorry face I kinda felt happy cause now it will be easy for us to clear the awkwardness with Harold.

Lara was going to say something that's when a staff from the hospital come to us and said "If you are going start a fight or scream at each other please do it in your house or else I have to call the Rose knights".

We all stopped a carriage and left the place immediately. We went to Lara's house and kept all the luggage in a place and sat on the couch with a drink in our hand to discuss how to clear the awkwardness between us and Harold.

First, Lara opened her mouth and said "We should take a rose bouquet to his house and should apologize to him".

We gave it a thought but the idea didn't seem powerful enough for the work so we said no to her idea.

After declining her idea we all again started to think of a way. This time Trivut came up with an idea, she told us her idea but we declined it immediately cause her idea was to punch Harold in the face and to apologize to him for it and that.

Her idea is so dumb that it messed up my head. I don't know how can she think of such a dumb idea. It looks like god created her without a brain.

Whatever it doesn't change the fact that we have to think of a way soon before it gets too late.

So we all started to think again, this time we are using all the brain cells so I am sure that we will get an idea.

Just when we were thinking hard Gilbert entered the house and broke our concentration.

Everyone else except me jumped at him to beat the crap out of him. But I stayed calm and somehow stopped them from beating Gilbert.

He was terrified at first but when I told him everything about today's incident he laughed and said "You guys are all dumb, Harold isn't sad it's just that he feels guilty for hurting your feelings and when he feels like that he just runs off from the place and goes to a silent place to cry to his heart content".

We all were surprised to know it cause we never thought that he would have such a sweet and soft side.

He always looks gloomy and angry so it's common for us to think like that. Anyway, we forced Gilbert to join in our discussion.

But he clearly didn't want to join us but he had no choice so he joined us in our dumb discussion.

Even after Gilbert joined us we weren't able to find an idea but we didn't give up and kept thinking.

Gilbert was silent and was goofing all the time but suddenly he stood up and said "Follow me".

So we all stood up and followed him. There was a carriage waiting for us outside.

Well, he is the son of the wealthy Adolescent family so it's no wonder that he has an extra fancy carriage.

We entered the carriage and sat on the sits comfortably. When we all settled down he signaled the coachmen and told him to go to Harold's crying place.

The carriage started to go fast as the horses were running fast. Everyone was sitting on their sits and was watching the beautiful scenes from the window.

But I couldn't enjoy the beautiful scenery cause there is a question that was bothering me.

So I looked at Gilbert and asked him a question that startled him. I asked, "Why did you become an adventurer despite being the son of the prime minister?"

He was surprised by my question cause I guarantee that he wasn't expecting this type of question in this situation.

I always wanted to ask him this question but I know that he would try his best to avoid the question so I was waiting for the right time and there can't be a good time as this.

He is riding in a carriage so he can't leave the place or turn away so this is an ideal place to trap him and make him answer the question.

I think he understood my plan cause he smiled at me and said nice plan Chris, I always knew that you are a cunning stubborn guy who would go to any length to get his answers.

So, to show respect to your effort I will answer your question honestly. The ladies were also interested in our conversation so they were also paying attention to Gilbert to listen to his answer.

I bet they all were thinking about the same question since the ascension ceremony but they hadn't any courage to ask him directly but now I have asked the question for them so they are happy but aren't showing that expression on their face.

After inhaling a deep breath he started talking. At first, he said

"As you guys know I belong to the prestigious Adolescent family that all the subjects of the kingdom look up to, my family has the most political power after the king and we are also very wealthy that even if we want we can't spend all our money in a century, but there is a thing you guys don't know about the Adolescent family and the thing is what gave us our status, money and everything that we possess today".

He stopped for a minute after saying that but we all were looking at his face to listen more (To Be Continued)
